This is the review for Lauress primer and finisher. I think these are the best primer and finisher that I ever try on my sensitive face. When using them in conjuction with her loose foundation, my face doesn't need any touch up for the whole day which is great. They become my HG now!!

I have been trying to find a salon quality mineral makeup without Parabens and Bismuth Oxichloride. I have to say that I hate this stuff. It feels like corn starch. It separated and became blotchy on my oily spots, and where I was dry it accentuated the dryness and even made it worse. It also looked really cakey around my eye area. Not a good pruchase. I have tried Everyday Minerals and I love them. They have better quality makeup and it is less expensive. Give them a try.

I love the fact that this foundation is very photogenic and the finish is fantastic. What i do not like about this product is that it gave me small bumps. Also, the staying power ain't that great. Too bad Soft Gold (Minimalist formula) is such a good match. I'll just probably use it as a finishing powder instead.

I LOVED this product but it has been discontinued in favor of a foundation with a dewy finish (which I do NOT like).

Of all the commercially marketed mineral foundations that I've tried, and the numbers have surpassed 20, this is one of the best. Lauress is lightweight and blends easily into the skin immediately upon application. The finish is natural, youthful, with a very slight glow. I have normal skin and found that it lasted all day with only 1 touch-up of blotting powder needed. After trying so many of the others I'd suggest not stopping until at least sampling LaurEss

I've tried 5 or 6 Mineral foundations and this is one of the 2 HGs for me. I am Asian and I have very difficult skin, oily, zits, blemishes, sensitive to irritants, etc. Like other powders, this isn't great when your skin is dry and flaky as the powder pools around the broken skin, but on even skin, this looks beautiful, soft, creamy, airbrushed. The texture is so finely milled, it feels like liquid silk, not rough and gritty like some of the other MMU brands. I like both the Original and Elemental, but I need the Original for the heavier coverage because of my blemishes. I wish she wouldn't discontinue the formulation, or perhaps offer another Elemental with heavier coverage. There is a large selection of shades and the packaging is very professional looking. Although it costs a little more than the others, it is worth it because it really is such a gorgeous powder. Lauren is also attentive and eager to help. I have bought twice from her, and will definitely buy again!

Sorry, I did not like it. Customer Service was great, but there is nothing special about this powder. It looks like the dust on my face even if I don't apply too much. Update may 2008. I bought it in 2006 and it did not work for me. I had some samples left and tried foundation again in 2008, and I like the coverage, my pores look smaller. Alima was my hg, but I can not use it anymore, I guess my skin changed, it looks too powdery, and doesn't last long, melts off, switched to EM, loved it for awhile, switched to Lumiere VV, used it for a few months, great smooth creamy coverage, perfect color match, but it ruined my skin, clogged my pores, and enlarged them permanently! Silk naturals, ok, but such a hassle to mix, too dark or too light, not much brightness. I decided to try Lauress again. Just got my samples (I had soft natural (old stuff) which almost matched my skin tone, new version of that is soft neutral, and unfortunately way too dark). I had perfect skin when I used talc powders, now they say talc is not good, everything is mica and zinc, and my skin isn't getting better. UPDATE. Tried lauress minimalist, it melts off, I don't like the coverage, I still have a sample of old version (former elemental) which works very well for me now, it hides pores nicely, I wish companies stopped changing formulations, they usually end up with stuff nobody likes. No more MMU for me

One of my favorite mineral foundations! Awesome selection of colors, very professional website and customer service. Love their brushes too. The foundation goes on silky smooth- very creamy! It lasts all day w/o touchups. I use it w/ Everyday Minerals Silk Dust (as a setting powder). More good brands to try are: Everyday Minerals and bareFaced minerals. Along w/ Lauress, these are the top quality natural mineral makeup brands (no fillers, bismuth, parabens, etc.). I alternate between these brands because they're all so wonderful and offer so much.

After sammpling several colors I finally found a perfect match! I am Asian and wear Radiant Gold, a beautiful light golden color. It is finely milled and rather creamy, and it goes on very easily w/a great soft finish. It has a matte finish, but not a dull, lifeless matte. Your skin still looks "alive". I find this brand a little better for those w/dryer skins, as mine tends to be during the winter months. I also use the Kick Start Primer, which is formulated for dryer skins, the two work very well together! I also have to say that the customer service at Lauress is excellent. Lauren, the owner is very available to her customers and answers the phone herself when you call. She gives great advice and her shipping is very fast. Even though her prices are slightly higher than other companies, I find her products well worth it and I highly recommend this company!

Oh, I'm new to the forum and just noticed you have my favorite MMU listed. LaurEss is my HG. Ever since I discovered it on the internet, people have noticed the difference in my skin. No streaking. Buildable coverage. And it lasts forever! I haven't tried their other stuff, but the foundation is perfect for me!

I love Lauress Cosmetics mineral foundation. The texture is gorgeous and it gives a lovely matte-but-not-dry soft-focus finish. The color selection is just amazing; surely there is a good match for everyone. It provides wonderful coverage and can be layered on those spots that need a little extra attention. On my normal skin it seems to absorb oil without being the least bit drying, and best of all, at the end of the day my skin looks better than it did in the morning. This one is definitely HG material!

I found the perfect match in Summer Tan. This foundation provided light to med coverage, but I can layer without it caking. I have tried Everyday Minerals new intensive coverage line, which is cheaper but irritated my skin (blotchy, red, raised rash on my cheeks). I use Lauress with no irritation. I love how natural it looks..great texture and lasting-power. UPDATE: this seemed to clog my pores. I have narrowed it down to the mica. Tried Alima (mica is 3rd ingredient) with success.

LaurEss is by far the best foundation I have ever used, liquid or mineral. It applies very soft and light with a buildable coverage and the absolute best finish I have ever gotten! It is matte, but not dead matte, it’s more like real (perfect) skin should be. I have dry skin and as long as I moisturize I have never had a problem with this foundation (never tried it without moisturizing first so I can’t comment to that).

My experience with this company has been wonderful. Excellent service, wonderful products and samples of EVERYTHING. In my opinion, this is by far the best mineral makeup available and everyone that loves MMU should give it a try.

I love this MMU. I am a smidge over 40 (and by that I mean 43!) and my first foray into mineral makeup began three years ago with Jane Iredale, which I thought was great, but it turns out, the bismuth didn't love me. Over the last few years I've tried so many brands, had settled on a couple that I deemed HG status, but then I think I started getting hormonal, my skin went a little nuts and I slowly stopped using MMU altogether and went back to liquid.

I still visited Delphi's MMM and kept reading reviews until one day, someone's review of Lauress and a couple of other newer lines (which I'll review as well) reignited my interest in MMU. Unsure of the color selection, I emailed Lauren and she promptly replied and the color choices she suggested were spot on.

For me, this has got to be one of the nicest MMU's out there - there is NO itch with this makeup. It goes on beautifully, does not accentuate my lines or pores, it's buildable...provides such a soft, natural soft-focus finish, ...sheesh... My skin is normal to dry and this does not make it dryer or feel tight, as a matter of fact, it feels more supple if that's possible.

Customer service is outstanding. Packaging is little jars, which is always a bonus!

IMHO, Lauress is worthy of the praise. UPDATE: I meant to update this sooner, but after using Lauress for a while, I got a case of the bumpies, which must mean that mica and I are not compatible. I still think her eyeshadows are lovely though, but I can't use the foundation, which is unfortunate b/c it is very nice.

Update 7/20/06: I'm back to using my JI. I think this is still a good product if you're not super dry and love a matte finish. For my tastes this looks too flat and after successive days of use my skin starts to feel drier probably because of the heavy titanium dioxide ingred. I also see streaks of red and blue when I apply this(a problem with a lot of the fledgling companies--the minerals are just not well blended). I also think this is not much of a bargain: When I bought the full size it was only 8 grams and it cost $26.00 which is pretty steep considering other mineral co. give much more for cheaper; I can get JI (10 gr) for $30. BE too is cheaper than Lauress so I suggest if you're happy with your current minerals stick with it but if you're looking for a nice matte formula w/o concern for prices then check this mineral line out. Original review: This makeup looks and feels like absolutely nothing on my n/d skin with rosacea. Coverage is light to begin with but can easily be built w/o it caking for more coverage, and she also offers concealers and correctors for bigger problems. There are tons of colors to pick from and I, an LLL, find I'm using from the 3rd level so a PPP should not have too much trouble finding a match. Samples are a little high at 3 bucks a pop. Nice matte finish that's not overdry however if you want any glow(I do) you'll have to mix that in and I prefer my minerals to be complete from the onset(hate having to be an AM chemist).

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. It has the most amazing finish. One coat covers very well but you can build without caking if you need a little more. I wear Pale Fawn which is a great match for my fair olive skin. It helps me stay matte better than any other mineral foundation I've tried especially with the primer. The blushes, eye shadows and lipglosses are also all worth a try, too, which is easy since samples are cheap and shipping is very quick. www.lauress.com.

I am so excited to see this on the reviews! This is the best foundation I have ever used. The coverage is amazing. It covers all of your flaws, but you can still see your skin. Your skin looks so natural. I get so many compliments on my skin. I just think to myself, that they wouldn't be saying that if they saw me without my makeup! :)

This is my HG foundation. I have tried tons of mineral brands and this is by far the best I have come across. Very soft and light on the skin. The finish is perfect, not matte but NO glow or sparkle. It really does look just like real skin! It is also very easy to use. There are no tricks to it like some brands. Some I have tried required spraying with water, or floofing or buffing, this one works no matter what I try! It is very buildable so if I have a good skin day I can apply a sheer layer, or I can build up to cover any mondo zits that appear. It's amazing that no matter how much I apply it never gets chalky. I have seen some people review this as a medium coverage brand but I have never had problems covering fully with it.

It is a little confusing having so many foundations to choose from, but I guess to some that is a plus. I did find my perfect match after getting a handful of samples and it was worth it. I hate tweaking so I guess the initial confusion is worth it. I have talked to Lauren, the owner, on the phone and she is helpful and friendly and down to earth. Her shipping was super fast and everything is packed in a very secure and styrofoam packing free way (I hate styrofoam packing peanuts so not having to deal with them is a major bonus)! Since discovering this brand a while back I have been able to sample a little of everything and I am so impressed with all these products. The eyeshadows, the blushes, the finishing powder, the gloss, it is all wonderful and beautiful. This is a big winner for me after trying so many brands and being disapointed!

You can get to the website here: www.lauress.com and get samples of everything including the lipgloss! the gloss samples come in a mini lip wand tube and they are perfect for tossing in your purse!
