smell almost identically to Piguet's Calypso....but Calypso takes more serious approach to creamy roses whereas AP Eau Emotionelle is a real dusty rose....
its dustiness lays upon the use of raw materials like coriander which is a very harsh and prominent spice and quite noticable...but in this composition it lingers alongside rose in the way Heatcliff lingers towards Cathy....they are sooo much in love but still manage to stay apart thanx to the restlesness of hearts. in AP EE (which is miles away from the dominatrix calles Agent provocateur edp) rose stays wonderfully close to skin, a skank is often to be smelled along the development phases...but vetyver and red pepper calm it down with a soft whisper of tea-rose (osmanthus)...
a beautiful and feminine fragrance, very dusty, very lingerie-like....soft,provocative,silky and ready to be torn apart...
an undisputable smell(scent) of a woman...
more of a skin scent in the character, less a real perfume...
8/10

This scent is GORGEOUS! I am pleasantly surprised. I tried it at random, as I'd never really been a big fan of the original. At first I thought it was weak and watery, but after a few minutes the real scent really hit me, and lasted longer than another scent I had tested (even though the other scent had been overpowering initially). It's beautiful, feminine and romantic. 5 stars from me. This could definitely become my new signature scent.

One of my absolute TOP 5 fave-perfumes! This is SO SO SO sensual & sofisticated at the same time. I imagine this a scent for anyone classy, sweet, & sensual. From teens to "Jackie O"-women - would take "Eau Emotionnelle" to their hearts. It's just such a perfect sofisticated scent with hints of subtle highclass-girl-innocense, that WILL drive guys (AND men) crazy !! On top of it all it is long lasting !! - Note that this is not a "one time, then next"-fragrance! This IS A MODERN classic here to stay !! IT IS sheer PERFECTION :D
* A modern chypre, this breathy fragrance captures the very essence of scented skin that has been exposed, heated and left to breathe. *
Top Notes: A vibrant top to entice your senses: bergamot, pink pepper, cape snow bush. Heart Notes: A flirtatious heart to seduce: white tea, magnolia, ylang-ylang. Base Notes: A sexy base to turn your instincts on: musk, amber, patchouli.
UPDATE 8/27/2009: Still LOVE it as much as when I first wrote my review above! About comparing it to SJP "Lovely", they do not smell similar. But I do LOVE SJP "Lovely" very much too. Somaybe there's something that attracts me in both. Only "Eau Emotionnelle" is SEXY & "Lovely" is SHY beauty. :)

"Agent Provocateur have taken their seductive signature fragrance and stripped it down to its bare essentials to create the flirtatious and sexy new Emotionelle Eau de Toilette. The oriental top notes have been refreshed with light, breezy cape snow bush, Lie de Vin and Pink Pepper. White tea and Japanese osmanthus modify the heart together with a slight softening of the base notes."
After reading the reviews of the original AP scent that said that it was too strong, I decided to give Emotionnelle a try and bought it on eBay. Definitely a mistake - this perfume doesn't really pack a punch. It's as if you're expecting a nice after taste and it never comes! It's too floral but too bitter, perhaps because of the pepper. Definitely not as seductive as Maitresse!

Just spritzed this in a store. Ok, I don't get it. This is not perfume, this is violet pastilles in spray-on form! Pleasant enough fragrance, but so linear, sweet and VIOLET! Really not sexy or emotional, violets are a stunted smell for me, not great at all. Lovely bottle though.

This smells like faint perfume, and nothing more. Completely uninspiring.

I like SJP Lovely so much and when a reviewer mention the similarity between AP Eau Emotionelle with SJP Lovely, I decided to give AP a try.
I must say, that actually, it didn't smell like Lovely AT ALL. It's totally different. It's a clean oriental smell, more like Mango Delirium without its sweetness.
I can't stand its opening, but after an hour, it turn out to be okay.
I like the package, but I don't think AP is the right one for me. Maybe my body chemistry, or maybe AP doesn't suit the hot weather where I lived.

I'm in love! You guys do know what this is don't you? A soft gentle version of the classic floral-chypre theme with rose and coriandre. One of the finest chypres ever made was Coriandre and this is a softer version. Coriandre is still produced but has been cheapened considerably over the years. My latest bottle is but a shadow of it's former self. I have been so sad to see so many classics reduced to little more than sawdust. Then here comes Eau Emotionelle. SJP's Lovely and Narciso Rodriguez are musk fragrances with no similiarities to Eau Emotionelle except perhaps in packaging and allure. Agent Provocateur has very cleverly taken a classic theme, softened the edges, repackaged it in modern sexy clothing, and given it a sultry name. Luckily, it is beautifully done and as we wave goodbye to so many classical chypres we are so fortunate to have a new entry on the scene. Eau Emotionelle is simply exquisite.

This is the first AP scent I've tried. It's a very clean skin scent, very dry in the end and quite soapy. Normally I avoid soapy scents but this one somehow is different. I guess it's because the feeling of white flowers and I am a fan of white floral scents. Don't feel that sexy. Good for office well. I don't like the packaging.
>>>UPDATE 1: The more I wear, the more I am in love with it! It works so well with my body chemistry. I agree with chanel22, this is a classic floral-chypre scent with a modern makeup! It's new classic. It's nothing to do with Narciso Rodriguez for Her or SJP lovely.
>>>UPDATE 2: After wearing for a few days, I notice that at the end of the dry down, there is something unpleasant - it's has a hint of the toilet of a 5-star hotel

This is a stripped-down (no pun intended) version of their original fragrance, without the bitter bite of saffron or the slightly heavy, animalic base of the original AP EDP. I smell mostly roses with a touch of fruity osmanthus, tea, and a softer, less dramatic chypre base that you find in the original. Overall, it's still a pretty fragrance, albeit more conventional, less sultry, less interesting. If you like rose scents, or if you found the original overpowering, this is a must-try (AP hasn't made a bad fragrance and it's still true in this case). Some notes: rose, coriander, vetiver, snow bush, lie de vin, pink pepper, white tea and osmanthus.

If you like SJP's Lovely you'll like this one. it has very nice and long lasting dry down and it actually smells nicer after a few hours. good as an every day summer scent.

It's my HG. Very beautiful light scent. Not as strong as the EDP. I gave the packaging a low score as the little ring pull is sometimes difficult. But this seems to be the same problem with the other two scents.
I've had many wonderful comments when i wear it. The scent seems to linger from the day into the night.
I'm not a fan of the new
Maitresse. The bottle is beautiful and very collectable but the scent is too heady for me.

This is billed as the EDT of the first Agent Provocateur EDP, but I find it much more soft and everyday wearable than the original. I'm not good with understanding notes ("cape snow bush"? Lordy, I dunno) but I can liken Eau Emotionnelle to the softness of a scent like Narciso Rodriguez for Her and SJP's Lovely. It has a similar amber/woodiness. If you like those two, you will like this. What's intriguing to me is its lasting power (quite long) paired with the seeming impossibility of overdosing on spraying it.

A lighter version of the EDP, much better for summer! Almost the same, can't quite smell a difference, but it does mean you can spritz more as it is an EDT!
