This is a very nice cool tone red with golden flashes, making it very wearable even for my yellow-tone Asian skin. Nice texture and flat brush that allow the polish to coat my nail beautifully. One coat is almost perfect and two coats will give a smooth finish, more than two coats is probably not necessary. The bottle is pretty but it is not transperent, as in the case of the whole Fire Opal series, and the color of the bottle does not always match the color of the polish itself. I did not give it five lippies because I don't think it is anything exceptional-- for all these ads about the opal effect and the $6.00 price tag I expect somehting more than just a cool tone red with warm tone glitter. Still, it is a very pretty color and the quality of the polish is very nice. I can wear it with a top coat on my toes for three weeks without a single chip. I may buy it again if I can't find something similar for cheaper.

Amber Opal goes on a bit streaky and sheer on the first coat, but dries pretty quickly. Two coats are necessary.
After two coats, I got a saturated pink w/fuschia and coral tones and a high shine. Despite the name "Amber Opal," this does not go on as an "amber" anything but rather a warm-toned deep bright pink/rose. It's a complex very pretty color.
All that said, it's a lovely summer color! Unlikely to use year-round. But in warm sandal weather, I'm really enjoying the flash of bright color. Has lasted four days already within very minor wear around the tip of the nail.

The Star Opal shades have the flat brush which is simply wonderful and makes application so much easier and goof-proof. This shade is a bright pinky/corally/rosy color with an iridescent flash. The application was smooth and it dried to a shiny finish.
