I was very excited to try this but ended up pretty disappointed. The shade Northern Light was a good match for my NC15 skin and I really liked the pump bottle packaging. However, two cons brought this right back to Sephora. I have combo acne-prone skin with a lot of post-acne red marks that I need to cover. This gave me very light coverage and did not hold up throughout the day. If you have combo to oily skin that needs at least medium coverage, I would not recommend this foundation.

Overall, the product is mildly disappointing. I usually stick to a matte finish foundation thanks to my super t-zone but I do need something not so drying during the winter due to the area where I now reside.
I used this foundation in seventh veil and found the color to die for. I am naturally a bit on the ruddy side on my face which doesn't match my neck so I need something that cancels the redness and the more beige than pink shade was perfect.
The packaging is fantastic for those of us girls who like to use our fingers for blending (the pump bottle distributes exactly what's needed in one squirt for your whole face) and it looks fantastic as soon as you finish setting with some loose powder.
Huge downside, it only looked good for a couple of hours. . .I need a product that's going to last through my day at the very absolute least. I used it with 3 different primers and it still failed.
After extended use for about a week, it was breaking me out.
For the price, it's simply not worth it.

i use all of fresh face make up (concealer, foundation, luster) and i am thoroughly convinced that they have the best make up hands down. makes your skin look real but better. Good coverage, buildable. i use chalet girl which is a really good match for my skin (yellow based). And their concealers are also yellow based.... Amazing stuff. pricey but if you use it with a foundation brush it lasts longer than if you were to use a sponge. get a sample if you are unsure, but definitely try it. If you have ever used umbrian clay than you already know this is good stuff, if you havent please try it! Also, their setting powder/powder foundation has no talc ..all mineral.
I still love this stuff because it has a very natural polished finish. Color is a perfect match, but sometimes (lately) i feel as though it might be breaking me out. But then again maybe it is due to my recent change in skincare regime. will update
OK: so i just purchased this again because i remembered how much i love it. tried laura mercier tm and it oxidized way too much, stila natural finish has too much of a runny/oily consistency (although it is oilfree) that didnt really make my skin look any better. i got this is croisette -a shade darker for summer
EDIT: ah! made me break out again.... unfortunate because it looks so pretty on

Great finish, long lasting.i do like the fact that colour stays fresh and doesnt change or slip.it will develop some shine after few hours but i dont mind that as somehow the comlexion looks youthful.good foundation.....i have to add now that dewy finish becomes almost sweat like later on (not a pretty look)...;-( ....shame cos i really like the finish when its freshly applied....may be for dry skin it will work out but its no no for combination

So disappointed Wanted to like this so much. I have extremely fair skin and am very hard to color match. Their Northern Light was perfect for me! I was so excited because it blended so beautifully however it offers very little coverage. It would be great if you have near perfect skin and simply want to even things out with a bit of coverage. If you have any flaws or discolorations, then you find yourself using your concealer heavily which is what I had to do. I suddenly felt like my skin was so imperfect because most foundations cover better. I thought wow either my skin has suddenly gotten worse or this baby simply has no real coverage. I don't mind swiping a dab of good concealer here and there but not as much as I had to with this. Not only that but the hygienic pump that should be an asset is a detraction because it can be faulty. I had a hard time getting it to pump properly. I had to reprime it even though I had just squirted out a few dabs! The other thing that disappointed me is that it feels like you are getting nothing for your money. This is very pricey foundation (over $50.00 with Tax and shipping). When you get it you feel that it is near empty because the bottle is made of plastic instead of glass (I would have preferred glass because A I'm not clumsy and B plastic has a tendency to make it's way into things it touches to some degree whether it be taste of smell). This is going back to Sephora. Once again I am on the hunt. Next on my list is La Prairie's Caviar Foundation in Ivoire and Porcelain Blush and Vincent Longo's Healthy Fluid Foundation in Porcelain. Heck I would be willing to spend a fortune to get the right foundation. It's got to be out there darn't! If we are lucky enough to find a foundation to suit our pale skins then it either has no real coverage or it slides off our face because we are oily. The fabulous foundations with a great flawless finish are always too dark (Estee Lauder's Maximum Cover would be the best stuff on earth if it only matched)! Lauder treats their best foundation like the red headed stepchild and only offers 4 colors.

I like this product due to all the same reasons mentioned on this board, i.e. umbrian clay and pump bottle. I use it with the Smashbox primer and apply it with the Sephora deluxe foundation brush. I usually have mild to moderate adult acne, but I have not experienced any breakouts using this foundation, none at all. It offers great coverage and I use loose powder afterwards. I tend to sweat easily, and this foundation does well in lasting during sweating. I'm not sure if it's a HG for me, because I'm so use to La Prairie, but I will probably buy it again, unless I'm convinced to try something better. I bought this in Chalet Girl, and compared it with Makeup Forever, and decided Fresh was a more flawless look for me than Makeup Forever.
++++After a month of using Fresh foundation I'm happy to report NO break outs!

Love the coverage...natural, and medium. It makes me break out, so I only use it rarely, but I love the way it makes me look. If your skin isn't acne prone, this is a good product to try. Has a medium, natural coverage with a porcelain finish.

I was so looking forward to trying this foundation, but I was disappointed. It felt very artificial on face, and was not easy to blend. It caked on my dry-ish skin. While it's not a matt foundation, it made my face feel tight and uncomfortable (maybe because of the umbrian clay?). It also faded after a few hours even with primer, making me look tired. For this price, there are many other options, IMO... Maybe if your skin is not dry and you're looking for a medium coverage fdt, it may be a good product. But if you have dry skin, definitely try a sample!

This is my first review but I just had to leave one as I enjoy this product so much. I'm always searching for foundations but this has become my standard. It matches so well and doesn't look like a mask when I go outside. It also doesn't sit on my little facial hairs like other foundations. I use seventh veil and it looks great whether I'm tan or not. Well worth the price.

the packaging is to die for....a slim bottle with a good pump....hygenic, convenient and mess free. This product will work very well for women with yellow or golden undertones...asians, indians, middle eastern....u can almost find an exact skin tone match which u can't with products like loreal, maybelline which has too much pink in them. However most dark skinned ladies tend to have oily skins...if u do...this is not a good product for you....i have dark skin, large pores and lots of oil....and well even though the foundation made me look flawless...it just melted off in an hour. I tried to use is with oil mattifiers, primers....but didn't work. Too bad...this was a perfect colormatch...sigh...the search continues..

i use sun empress, and i've been using fresh foundation for over a year. I love what fresh offer in their products, and I will continue to use fresh. I am also acne prone etc, and this has not broken out my skin. The price is steep but one bottle tends to last me 2-3 months.

IMO, the best thing about this foundation line is the color choices. I have medium tone Asian skin with gold undertones. The best color for me was the croisette. It is not too light, not too dark, and has the perfect yellow undertones. Finally, I found something that wasn't too pink for my skin. I think most people should be able to find a good color match. The product is packaged in a light plastic so it is nice and light compared to glass containers. It has a pump dispenser which is very hygenic. I have found this system can develop air bubbles, and occasionally the foundation will spurt out. This is a medium coverage foundation that applies very well with a foundation brush. A little bit definitely goes a long way. I had to rate this product a 3 because I don't think it works well with anything but dry skin. I found my face was getting too oily from repeated use. My pores did not like it -- I rarely breakout, but noticed little pimples forming after using this product.

I love this foundation I use the lightest Northern Lights and it's a great match for me. It wears well but with my combination skin I still need a primer to keep it on my face for more than 8 hours. It's not to drying but I wouldn't recommend it to people with dry skin. The packaging is great it's in pump style container that pushes up from the bottom so you get every last bit which is nice and it is also very hygienic. It's expensive $40 dollars but it lasts a long time so it's worth it. I will definitely be repurchasing this foundation.

This foundation did not do much for me. It accentuated lines and wrinkles and had a masky like quatlity. It contains clay, which gets sticky and cakey when it sets. Made me look about 10 years older.

This foundation reminds me of my beloved Armani's Luminous Silk foundation, minus the clogged pores and breakouts! It goes on beautifully, the colors are yellow based, it lasts all day, never feels heavy, and provides good coverage without looking caked on. I'd say it's a light-medium coverage foundation-- which is perfect for almost everyone. I have dry skin that gets very dry in winter and it works great for me. I hear that this foundation works well on all skin types (except maybe the very oily), because it contains balancing ingredients. I wear Chalet Girl and it's a perfect match for my LLL/FFF, fair olive skin. **UPDATE: I took off a lippie because I find that even with my dry skin, this foundation makes my skin look kind of oily as the day wears on. It is almost too dewy, and that seems to highlight flaws. Therefore, it is not my HG... But still a really nice foundation.

The texture of this foundation is great. It's creamier than other liquid foundations which is the kind that I prefer. I love the yellow undertones of the shades because I have medium golden Asian skin. It has medium coverage and while it doesn't goes on perfectly smoothly (I feel that it tugs just a little bit at moisturized skin) the end result is lovely: smooth, even, natural-looking skin. A primer would probably fix this problem I have. I don't even have the right shade and I am giving this 5 lippies so this is saying a lot. I have Sandy Lane but it's a little bit too light for me. Once I find the perfect shade though, I know I will be in heaven.

I recently tried the Umbrian Clay Shampoo and fell in love, despite the $24 price tag. Since I was running out of foundation, I decided to try the Fresh Finish Foundation. I had a makeover at the Fresh counter and I really liked the way the foundation looked. Usually I wear a heavy coverage makeup, but with concealer this looks very natural. I have very fair porcelain skin and it's difficult to find a foundation that isn't too yellow, but Fair Isle works well. I love the way this stays on. Even when it does wear off, it looks very natural. I use the Foundation Primer with this, so that may explain why it stays on so well.

I like a lot about this foundation - great packaging (pump), easy to apply with a nice finish, and the best thing about it for me is the shade. I use 'Northern Lights' and it is really quite a good match for my pale skin. Sometimes though I think it seems to darken through the day... so that is the main reason I can't give it a five lippies rating.

FINALLY! My HG foundation!!! Although it has taken years, I have finally found a foundation that is the right shade and consistency without any drawbacks. After a foundation emergency in which I gave in to an awful Bare Escentuals experience (see separate review), I came back to the trusted MUA to find the right foundation for me. And finally I found it in Seventh Veil. I'm fair and don't want to look any darker or yellowish- so it has been impossible to find the right foundation. I became apathetic and would just slap some stuff on to cover up my redness. But now I finally have a foundation that I actually enjoy wearing- because it works for me! The Sephora MA applied this with a foundation brush for a great finish. Although this gives me a "full coverage" sort of look, it matches so well that I can actually just brush it across my forehead, nose, and chin without noticeable lines. I do get shiny in the usual places after 6 hours or so- but that's ok with me. Thank you to all the reviewers who steered me in the right direction.
