Very effective cleanser. The cleanser comes out of the tube as blue paste and turns foamy when slathered. Leaves skin cleansed and refreshed.

This is a great product! It cleanses your face greatly, leaving the skin soft and ready for the cream. It is very efficient and even being used morning and evening lasts for more than 4 months!

I have totally splurged and purchased quite a few of the La Mer products recently. This one is a true favorite. The tiniest bit of product foams up and leaves the face truly clean, refreshed and without any residue. It also passes my toner test. I can tell if my cleanser is crappy by how much dirt and makeup are on my toner pad. This had none. I follow with the radiant infusion and sometimes serum, and then the creme or new soft cream. My skin looks better than ever. I will repurchase again.

I love this Cleansing Foam! You only need the tiniest little bit ... The size of a grain of rice .... To create a huge handful of foamy lather! Love that! That means that this tube will last a really long time, which makes this super expensive cleanser not so expensive after all. I have an oily t-zone, and this cleanser gets my skin super clean but not stripped. My cheeks and around my eyes are more normal-dry, and this cleanser works beautifully there too ... Clean but still soft and balanced. I am really happy and satisfied with this cleanser. Will definitely purchase again!

I have been using this foam for about 6 months now and am totally hooked. I have an oily t zone, dry everywhere else and works a treat for me. Very expensive. Here in Australia it costs $170.00 AUD. Although I get about 3 months out of each tube. (I admit I am alittle generous with the amount I use each time!). So you could probably get alot longer. Easy to use tube. Is a mint green in colour. Glides on and foams up. I lather up for a minute and wash off. I follow by the toner and La Mer creme. Worth the money.

It's plain and simple, this is without a doubt the best cleanser I have ever used in my life I love it, after every wash my skin is glowing.
I'd be weary to recommend this product to those with dry skin however, every now and then i have noticed dry spots later on in the day after washing with this but meh I don't care it's still gold dust as far as I'm concerned.
It's pricey when compared to other cleansers, not that it should come as any form of surprise to anyone as all La Mer products come with high end price tags. Anyway I feel the price is somewhat justified as it lasts for ages (and I mean ages) and the results speak for themselves.

I received a 1 oz travel sized version of this. To be honest, I had zero expectations going in, although I didn't read any of the reviews prior to using it. For some reason I just assumed it wouldn't be effective. To my surprise, this creamy green mousse-to-foam cleanser leaves my skin squeaky clean! The first time I used it, I couldn't help but grin after looking in the mirror...I was glowing! A little bit goes a long way, so my 1 oz version has provided plenty of use.
Now for the sad catch: the regular size (4.2 oz) of this is $65. Um, yeah...no. Sorry La Mer. I really do like this cleanser, but not THAT much.

I received this in swap. This is a very nice mild cleanser. When I used this I can really feel that it cleanse my face very well leaving it soft and very refreshed and brightened (although the brightening is only temporary and lasted only for about a few minutes), mattify temporary also. The soapy clean scent is also very nice. I don't think I will buy in the future because I find it very expensive for a basic mild foam cleanser. I think there are other mild foam cleansers in the market that are much cheaper. We pay more for this because it is from La Mer.

This foam is amazing! You only need a small amount, as you do with most foams. I use it with my clarisonic and it leaves my skin incredibly soft and supple! It smells very soapy and clean which I like, it also leaves that squeaky clean feeling. This cleanser is very mild and not too harsh but it cleans very well which is what you want to get rid of oil, makeup and dirt! I always rinse with a bit of cold water as it closes the pores leaving my skin ready for toner and products. This product gets the thumbs up, but as always, any good facial wash is fine, this is not a neccessity, its a luxury at £46!
EDIT: this was way too harsh for my skin. I never knew but according to a skincare specialist I have very sensitive skin that is prone to block pored that forms blemishes. I now use avene products which is ridiculously gentle and my skin loves it!(and its tonnes cheaper!)
EDIT: I have decided this foam is too harsh on my skin. Its nearly wintertime in the UK so I found that my skin is too tight after using this foam. I have bought the cleansing fluid for makeup removal and the cleansing lotion to clean. I am going to use the cleansing lotion with water to substitute not using the foam. I must say, I am very lucky, the ladies at my La Mer counter is so friendly, they always give me samples to try the product for a week before I buy. x

I have a fairly oily skin and this cleanser works quite well for me. It has a nice (not too overpowering) scent to it, and it is gentle on the skin. I've been using it for some weeks now, and I can see my face clearing up a bit. You only need a little bit of it to make enough foam for both your face and neck. It is a bit on the expensive side, but I would gladly spend the money for it.

I first tried La Mer in 2001 and the Cleansing Foam has always been a standout product for me from the line (actually the only product that I really liked)..... while pricey, it is worth every penny to me ........ throughout the years I would "cheat" and look for other less costly products but would always come back to the Cleansing Foam. I do not use this to as a true cleanser in that I use to remove make-up (for that I swear by Shu Uemura's Cleaning Oils which are the best for me) but instead I use La Mer's Cleansing Foam in the a.m. when I use my Clairisonic and it is a true luxury treat for my face ..... again this is $$$ but since this is not used for removing makeup, I only need the tiniest dab and it is more than enough for me. I have finally learned my lesson and will never stray from the Cleansing Foam .....it reaches every requirement I am looking for in that it is gentle, does not cause irritation when i use retin-a or other strong products and leaves my face feeling soft each and every day ....... well worth the price! Update: I still love this product and is still my HG, however, I have found a comparable item - a cleanser from Exuviance, which wrote a review on as well, is excellent and a cheaper alternative to La Mer's cleanser.

it is with deep and honest sadness that i report i am not pleased with this product. my skin was doing well with Chanel Purete foaming cleanser and i thought this would be the ticket to take me into amazing skin territory. i probably thought that because it's very pricey.
my first time using this my skin felt amazing and looked so refined. subsequent uses yielded different results. it does a terrible job of removing face makeup. even if i use something beforehand, i find my toner pad is still dirty looking after cleaning with this. now i am breaking out more around my chin and nose, which could be hormonal, but i highly doubt that. also i find i am getting greasier faster. it is worth noting that right now summer where i live has not been hot or sweaty at all, we are talking about mild weather. i am putting this away to save for winter (sad, b/c i have a Clarins winter cleanser i'm happy with) and repurchasing chanel.
this was a big disappointment at $100CDN after tax. i would happily spend twice this much on a product that really delivers, in fact i usually think you get what you pay for and if you want the best you shouldn't balk at high price tags. but $100 for a product that feels no better than the drugstore stuff i bought in highschool? sadness...
WINTER UPDATE: better, but a bit too drying. wth! cant win with this product :(

This is an overall decent cleanser. I ordered La Mer Cleansing Fluid and Cleansing Gel from Gloss.com and had real nasty breakouts for weeks (boyfriend was never this horrified!). A very helpful SA in NYC Saks La Mer counter told me to switch to The Cleansing Foam. I was skeptical since The Cleansing Gel completely destroyed my face but I gave The Cleansing Foam a try anyway (I am quite adventurous when it comes to testing new products). But really glad I tried it. It cleared up my face in a few days. I use it in conjunction w/ the Cleansing Fluid and maintain my other La Mer moisturizer routine. This cleanser is green at first and turns to white creamy foam after massaging on the skin. It does a good job taking off dirt and impurities and surprisingly it’s not very drying at all. I like the creamy texture of the foam and the nice job it does. The packaging (tube) is nice as well, much better than The Cleansing Gel pump bottle. This one is definitely up there with my other cleansers such as Chantecaille Rice & Geranium Foaming Cleanser, Prada Purifying Cleanser and La Prairie Foam Cleanser. Probably will not purchase tho' 'cuz I want to try something else.

A great product, and it does indeed brighten the skin. I use this in the AM to give my skin a luminosity before makeup. I wouldn't recommend this as a makeup removing cleanser, as I do not feel it foams enough. Great as your AM cleanser though, leaves the skin crisp, but not tight. Just wondering, for those who use it, do you lather it in your hands first, then apply, or apply it to your face, then massage it in?

I'm usually a fan of La Mer products and love the cleansing gel. I tried this when it first came out and it's just okay. For the price it did not last me that long. Cle de peau gentle foaming cleanser is a tiny bit cheaper and lasts me twice as long so when I want this type of cleanser I go with their. Overall not bad just nothing special to me. Didn't bother my skin and worked well just not my favorite. I also like that the Cle de peau comes in a softer tube so you can easily get every drop out, after all for these prices you don't want to be tossing product.

This is a remarkable product. The La Mer lady loaded me up with samples and this one blew me away. First of all, you only need a teeny-tiny amount (seriously) and your whole face neck, chest, and shoulders can be covered in an INCREDIBLE lather. If you don't like the post wash squeaky-clean feeling, this cleanser is not for you. After rinsing, the skin is tightened (not in a dry way), glowing, though not the least bit dry. I definitely recommend this product. I am using EVERY LAST DROP of the sample and will then purchase once I am done with my current cleanser. Incidentally, the container is HUGE, you only need a tiny portion, and I should point out that my tiny sample has lasted me over a week so far and I still have several days ahead of me. Definitely worth the $$.

A very fragranced soap-based facial foam, not suitable for use in hard water area, where I live. It leaves a film after washing. You might like it if you have soft water in the house. But honestly among soap-based facial cleansers, I prefer Shiseido's than this one: they foam better, creamier, and with far more pleasant scents.

$170 AUD Expensive.
It feels like soap...smells like soap... residue like soap.
But it was purchased from a La Mer stand in David Jones.
It makes my skin feel rubbery as I rinse it off. I can't stand it.
Oh and the stuff separated inside the tube it's brand new.

This stuff is really, really good. It takes off makeup, doesn't strip your face and lasts a lot. I only have a tester tube, but you use so little
Wish I could afford the bigger tube. its that good.
