This is a great powder. I have it in porcelain, and it matches my pale skin perfectly. It smells like cinnamon, which I like. I use it to set my tarte tinted moisturizer. It is $20, but the container is a decent size and will last a while. It doesn't have enough coverage for me to be used as a powder foundation, but with the tinted moisturizer underneath, it is perfect.

I love just about anything Aubrey. After reading reviews on here I HAD to try this. The smell is a nice cinnamon, which normally I like but could do without. It doesn't do much in the way of coverage so I use it to set my foundation. It blends well and isn't cakey. Unfortunately I used this at the same time as a new foundation and broke out horribly. I stopped using both and just used the powder for two days. On day two I had a few little pimples :( I'm SO SAD. I love this and you get a ton for the price. I'll either pass it on to my stepmom or just use it once in a while. Now I'm just hoping it wasn't the Tarte foundation giving me the huge pimples (please just be PMS!!!!)

I have been using Aubrey's hair products for awhile and decided to try their makeup as well. For the most part I really love it. I love the smell, it's not caky or heavy and it makes my face feel soooo soft. My only problem is the color. I'm white/black so I have light tan skin. But most my friends who go tanning are tanner than I am and it's always hard to pick a shade of makeup. Anyways I bought it in tan and it almost makes my face look dirty. But since I feel like it's so much better for my skin than other makeup and there is a lot I like about it I still use it. It lasts a long time but when it finally runs out I'm going to try a shade lighter and then I think I will love it 100%!

Not a bad powder foundation! It's a little expensive, but you get a lot of product. It smells like cinnamon and covers well... however it goes on very matte for me. And by matte, I mean more on the "flat" side. It can look heavy easily.
Overall, it's a good all natural choice with quality ingredients.

For me this was dirt cheap - I was give it by a friend who couldn't use it as it flared her roseasa. She had both the "beige" and "porcelain" to mix because neither matched her and gave me both. I only tried the porcelain and the beige is to dark.
It's true, these have next to no coverage but I don't need much. I applied concealer where needed and applied. And started to itch almost immediately. I react this way to most products I try. I only wore it a few hours on a Saturday while running errands and took it off when arriving home. I had 2 very small white heads on my chin that night. So this doesn't work for me either.
That said, I do think this is a high quality, good powder if you aren't sensitive skinned. And it smells lovely, like cinnamon. The package is HUGE and while the price seems high when you get as much as you do, it really isn't.
For anyone curious and wanted to try it, I do have both colors up for swap on my swap list as of 10-08-10!
Me, I'll stick with my Physicians Formula mineral wear pressed powder and stop straying. I suggest that for someone like me, with uber sensitive skin who only want that extra little something to even out skin and cover pores.

This powder is pretty good. It's not a good setting powder though, especially for concealer. But on it's own it's good, it makes your skin nice and soft, and it smells good too! Plus the ingredients are excellent, very natural and good for your skin!

I really liked this powder better than I expected. First of all, you get a TON for the price. It is a bit expensive, but not when you look at the total weight that you get. I am a fair/light, and the porcelain/beige is perfect. It is really great at oil control, which I really like. Plus, it doesn't dry me out. It gives sheer/moderate coverage, which I like. It has a nice (not over-powering at all) scent of cinnamon. I only have two-downsides, and they are very minor: 1) if you use too much, it CAN look a little chalky - you just have you blend really well (and possibly use a little setting spritz) and 2) the color is really 1-dimensional. For coverage, this works well. Some people just like a little more depth in the color of their base. Otherwise, I would totally recommend this powder!

I love this powder, it's my HG!!! I use the Tan as a bronzer/setting powder. The oil control of this powder is really amazing!!! I have been searching for a good oil absorbing powder and bought this on a whim, it doesn't say anything about helping leave your face matte but it does! This powder is mica & bismuth free so less chance of an allergic reaction. I love how this powder smells too, like cinnamon :-)! Also love that the ingredients are natural/organic! Slightly expensive, but the jar you get is huge!

I bought this in beige because I was looking for a natural powder to set my makeup and give my skin a matte finish. I have combo to oily skin which can be sensitive to chemicals (sunscreen) and other irritants. This powder worked great for a few days then it started to dry out my cheeks and make them blotchy. After wearing the powder out last night (and using it halfway through the evening) I woke up with red, splotchy cheeks and a few little bumps (maybe the cinnamon irritated my skin?) I also found the touch-up to look a little chalky and artificial. I'm not using this again.

I love this loose powder. It goes on sheer and leaves a nice sheen on the face. It's doesn't settle into my pores either. It lasts all day and easily takes off with soap. I use the Beige color and it matches my skin tone (MAC's NC 25) nicely.

I am allergic to Bismouth Oxychloride (sp?) & Mica - it took me forever to find a product without these highly irritating products. And I was extremely concerned that whatever I found would not have the coverage I needed.
I am not sure why anyone would say it is not a good coverage - it is just as good a coverage as any other powdered foundation that I have used and I much prefer this matte finish to the overly shiny finish of B.E.
And for anyone with any doubts - I saw my mom for the first time in a few months this last weekend and I was wearing this product - and the first thing my mom said to me was - "your skin looks so pretty! Are you doing anything different?"
One last thought - if you aren't getting coverage - maybe it's the brush that you're using that is the problem? I use it with the same Kabuki brush (of course, cleaned) that I use with any other mineral makeup - and as I said, I am getting great coverage. I do apply about 3 layers but it goes on plenty heavy without looking at all cakey!

I love this product, I just wish I could have discovered it earlier! I hate wearing makeup, since i live in the deep south Texas humid and hot weather, I just hate the way it feels. This product does not feel heavy, but covers very well for me; i too like the natural look. I have not had any breakouts since using this, i have been wearing it for a little over a month. I can see that this might not be very good for those with dry skin, but if you have combiniation/oily skin it is great. you can even re-apply w/o looking cakey! All i do is put on some concealor and then apply this and im out the door. I wish this company could come out with more all natural make-up, I would definitly re-purchase; if i ever need to!

I'm really enjoying this powder in Beige. it's a very neutral color, ALMOST pinkish, but it works well when mixed with minerals for me to boost the coverage which is very sheer, and to give a nice glowy finish. As others have mentioned, the cinnamony smell is pleasant and light. I need coverage so I would not use it alone.

I have this in Beige. I'm a NC30 skintone. Perfect neutral undertone for me and it smells like cinnamon. My skin is VERY sensitive and oily and this powder is the best loose powder I've found for my skin condition. I have Aveda, Laura Mercier, DHC, and Nars powders and this beats them all. It feels soft and fresh all day and doesn't feel like a mineral foundation. It feels lighter like an air spun blotting powder. Great coverage, but not heavy and won't make your pores look cakey. I will not wear heavy make-up; won't do it! This powder is perfect for that natural look I try to achieve every day.

Let me start of by saying this is not a foundation. This is defiantly more of a finishing powder/translucent powder; offering sheer to light coverage at best. I absolutely love this. They give you a ton of powder (21g) and it comes in the standard mineral makeup jar with a sifter. I wear the porcelain beige color which is a good match for my nc15/20 skin. I think it has a neutral undertone. This powder sets your makeup and makes your skin feel like silk. It kind of diffuses the texture of your skin making it look for even, like a soft focus effect. What I love most about it is that it only contains natural ingredients that are nonirritating, some of which are organic! It's a godsend because I'm very conscious of what I put into my body and I am trying to which all my cosmetics to natural ones.
I have sensitive/acne-prone skin, but this is the first powder I have used that has not caused my skin to itch or feel uncomfortable. With a bit of concealer under my eyes, and over blemishes, I put this on top and I'm ready to go.
ingredients:
Silk powder, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, tapioca starch*, lauroyl lysine, cinnamomum zeylanicum bark powder*, aloe barbadensis leaf*, oryza sativa (rice) starch, tocopherol (vitamin E), iron oxides, silica.... *Certified Organic

I paid 17 or 18 bucks for this stuff at Luckyvitamin.com. I was surprised at how large the container was when it arrived. You get 21 grams of product compared to Bare Escentuals 9 grams and Alima's 7.5 grams. Consider the fact you pay $22 for BE at Sephora, $20 for Alima, and Aubrey is already coming out on top. Add to the fact that this powder contains no bismuth oxychloride or mica (both of which can irritate acne-prone/sensitive skin) and this stuff is winning by a long shot. But here's what sold me on this stuff, there's no fake layering or caking with this, it just gives you a natural-looking, almost airbrushed, soft-focus glow. It makes it look like you get your 7 or 8 hours of sleep every night, drink gallons of water and eat all your veggies. Seriously. I find that I do need to re-apply it every once in awhile to maintain the glow-y effect, but it's worth it. There are some things that are not all that great about this stuff too. For instance, I apply several layers of this stuff, and it still does not cover blemishes as well as BE nor look as polished as Alima does. I have to use concealer to cover-up my under eye circles and blemishes. I find that if I apply this stuff first and then use Alima's foundation over it, my makeup looks awesome (no caking or obvious foundation tell-tale signs but it does look more polished/professional). It also smells like cinnamon to me, like something you want to eat. Lovely. I like that I can apply this in a hurry, half asleep and still look *naturally* good. I use the Alima foundation brush with this stuff and it just always makes me feel great about my skin. This seems to occasionally dry out my combo/sensitive skin. Not in a major way, just that I notice the occasional flake on my chin when wearing this. I guess I just need to find a more moisturizing daytime treatment. That's fine with me, especially since this foundation costs less than most other mineral makeup anyway.

Well, this stuff just did not work on my dry skin...I am so bummed. I loved the idea of it, and the smell is juts fabulous...like cinnamon. I was feeling good about wearing something natural. It just didn't look natural on my skin. I think this is definitely intended for oilier skinned ladies as it just made my dry skin look even more dry, and uneven.
Bummer.

I really hemmed and hawed about buying this product, because my experiences with mineral makeup, in general, have been mixed and all over the board. I've tried Jane Iredale, Bare Escentuals, Aromaleigh, just to name a few. I had not been able to find a foundation that left me truly matte, didn't clog my pores and didn't give me little whiteheads all over the place, and finally, was a good color match.
I did some research and discovered that maybe it wasn't only the bismuth oxychloride that I was having trouble with, but maybe I had to try a mica-free foundation altogether. Let me tell you: there are very few mica-free mineral foundations out there. I also didn't like the opacity of titanium dioxide, and now there are concerns over its safety, so I decided to nix that too. I tried Crush Groove Cosmetics and Earth's Beauty, but while both foundations were nice overall, Crush Groove was too sheer, and Earth's Beauty's color choices are very limited and I couldn't get a good match.
I just happened to be in Elephant Pharmacy, when I noticed the Aubrey Organics makeup display. I didn't even know that Aubrey Organics even produced makeup! The sales consultant explained that they just revamped and relaunched in June '08. I sampled the Beige and the Tan on the spot, decided that Beige was a better match, and left wearing the samples on my face. The Aubrey Organics Silken Earth Translucent Base is silk powder-based with arrowroot starch and rice starch. It's surprisingly absorbent for my very oily skin -- hooray! -- and I'm shine-free for several hours, which is several hours more than if I wasn't wearing anything. The coverage is sheer, but you can definitely build on it. I would say that if your skin is good overall, but you're looking to control shine and even out your skintone, then this is the perfect powder for you. You get an awful lot of powder for under $25, so it's a good deal.

Aubrey has "upgraded" the product, it now comes in different tints and there's more powder in a jar, it now comes in a plastic rather than glass container, which makes it lighter. I can use either the Porcelain or Porcelain Beige shade for my fair skin. It doesn't have henna in it like it used to, which I like better. Also I got a good deal on it at Lucky Vitamin.
