This smells like a delicious marzipan topped, sugary cake

The scent is strong and long lasting, so it can be used as a scented body lotion without the need for perfume/body spray

a word of caution: after applying all over the body, the scent although beautiful will be strong and can be overwhelming when you first use it

however, after an hour or so, the scent calms down and lingers pleasantly (but not overwhelmingly) on the body and clothes for the whole day

i admire it's longevity and so don't apply perfume when wearing this.

however, some people may prefer applying it right before bed- so by the morning the scent is not so dominant but lingers pleasantly.

This is only available on the christmas/ easter sales.

I have very dry, sensitive skin that requires tons of extra moisture, especially in the winter. Every single product in my shower and on my vanity has "hydrating" or "moisturizing" somewhere on the label, because my skin is always thirsty for more. I am also a nurse, and winter is particularly brutal on your hands when you are a nurse, due to the fact that you wash your hands 1000 times a shift at work. My hands were forever dry, I always had hangnails, I always had dry cuticles, I always had little splits at the tips of my fingers. This is even with using paraffin baths and creams as rich as Nivea and Aquaphor.

Then I tried Almond Body Butter. I am ADDICTED, and my hands are in the best shape they've been in since I can remember. First and foremost, the smell is lovely. A soft, sweet almond scent that is not too cloying and not too overpowering. Slightly less than Jergens original lotion cherry almond scent, for reference. The butter is rich, but soft and smooth and spreads easily into the skin. It does leave my hands and arms greasy for about 5-10 minutes after I put it on, but this is probably due to the fact that I use a large dollop (about the size of a marble) each time I moisturize. Regardless, I personally can get past the greasy phase because of what this product has done for my skin.

Even with constant hand washing, cleaning, taking care of 2 kids, and dry winter air heated with gas heat (which is even more drying than a heat pump) and no humidifier in the house, my hands are soft and crack free, with no hangnails. My cuticles are supple and actually look like they're supposed to look.

I got this tub on sale at Ulta for $15. I liked it so much that when The Body Shop had a sale the next week, I got 2 tubs of the Cocoa Butter for $5/each and one mini tub of the Coconut Butter for $6, free shipping. For the price and the quality of the product, I give this 5 lippies all around. It is a truly fantastic product.

I like almond smells :) and this body butter is nice, it is thick while still sinking in quite well and my favorite use is right before sleeping at nigh because it does leave a light greasy film (bad enough that I dont want it on my books, not so bad that it bothers me).
Only reason I probably wont buy again is I am always trying out new things! I do like this scent better than the mango one I had before.

I've heard many great things about the body shops body butters the almond one in particular is very nice the scent is very nice and not over powering it sinks into the skin rather quickly ..(at least quicker then the coconut one) it brings a lot of product and it's only 19$ the body shop always has a whole bunch of deals! which i love i wish it had a sweeter smell though if you stack it on though it will feel rather sticky/ Greasey but ... that's just common sense

Darn! I just looked up the ingredient list in order to write this review. And it has parabens. Granted, I didn't do very well in o-chem, and I don't know exactly why parabens are now kind of controversial. Still, I have a family history of ovarian cancer, and although our exposure to a variety of technically-carcinogenic compounds is so high/ubiquitous these days, I think I'll probably NOT buy this again.

DARN. Because I really like it.

Thanks to a Groupon, I got a 2-for-1 deal; otherwise, I probably would have balked at making a Body Shop item part of my regular personal care regimen.

Lately, I've been weaning myself off Elizabeth Arden Green Tea- scented body lotion, and casting about for a replacement. I settled on almond, after conducting a long sniff-test on all the body butters at the local Body Shop.

I like this product because a little goes a long way, and the sweet almond scent stays for hours. It gives me a luxurious feeling as I massage it into my hands.

See, I recently married, and have found to my dismay that my new husband has lower standards of cleanliness than I do. So, while I try out different cajoling/nagging techniques, in the short-term I find myself doing much more cleaning than I'm used to- particularly in the kitchen. And I rarely bother with wearing gloves. So, yeah, I know I'm kind of damaging my hands.

But: I have this jar of almond body butter! Until it finishes, and then I have to look for something else, paraben-free.

This is the BEST body butter at The Body Shop. Hands down. The smell is absolutely amazing, and it makes your skin so soft. I get compliments all day long on how good I smell.
Just the best.

I really liked the smell of this, but it just doesn't cut it.

I thought it was neat how it was thicker than most creams, and it spread fairly easily. However, it leaves a weird stickyness to your body and doesn't sink in very well. Unfortunately, I have a lot left over. I found that if you put it on before bed, you wake up feeling super soft. Other than that, I wouldn't purchase this again.

I have got a couple of these as I liked the concept and the smell.

Unfortunately they have no moisturising effect whatsoever.
The body butter just sits on you skin like grease and doesn't sink in. I have used it for a couple of weeks with no effect on my skin whatsoever.

I am very disappointed with this product and would recommend it to nobody. Don't waste your money.

Since the Body Shop has been sold to L'oreal the quality of their products has steadily gone down.

Plus they now test on animals via L'oreal!

I love the sweet light scent of this body butter! it sits both summer or winter times! I love massaging this on my body combined with body oil, it is amazing! It is also good just alone. The texture is nice, thick and creamy. It's a perfect daily moisturiser after a shower when going to bed in the evening. Id recommend it to anybody.

This is the best moisturizer i've ever used, i like it much more than the coconut one which i love anyway, and best of all, it was 50% off online, THEN i got a further 40% off on top of that so i got 250 mil of this for £3! BARGAIN. safe to say i stocked up on this and the rasperry ripple body wash, i have about 5 which cst me 15! bargain! they last forever too i suggest they'll probably last me over 2 years so i'm very happy.

the texture absorbs really well but leaves you feeling nice and moisturizes and not sticky at all, your skin feels so soft and supple, it makes my fake tan last much longer, the smell is divine and like i said, they do offers all the time so if you see it online for a fiver or less buy it!

do not pay full price for it! as it's ALWAYS in their sale :-)

I bought this at the Christmas sale when they was discontinuing the almond body butter. I'm not sure if its the almond ones or just my one but the texture of it is a lot thicker and solid than the other Body Shop body butters. I love the smell of this and the smell can last up to hours on the skin. Because of the thickness of the cream it does take a while to rub in and ensure all areas are covered. It is a great moisturiser (I have very dry skin on my body) and gives my skin a noticeable smoothness. Also because of the thickness it is a good moisturiser for the feet.

I have given it an overall rating of 4 instead of 5 because it takes a while to rub in, the product in the tub doesn't last that long and so I wouldn't pay the full £10 for it, even at half price I think it is a little pricey although I would repurchase at £5 (not that I can now its been discontinued).

I fell in love with this body butter. It smells of marzipan and it's a real pleasure to apply it in the morning.
What I also really like about this product is that it's very rich. I apply quite a lot on the skin of my arms so my clothes will smell of it too! I'm there every day, sniffing my upper arms :)
I was a bit sad because they don't sell it in Belgium anymore, but I went in a shop and they sold 2 for the price of 1 until sold out so I bought 2.

I've used a lot of body butters from The Body Shop in the past: coconut, moringa, strawberry, shea, mango. When this appeared in stores, I was pretty excited because I loveeeeeee almond smells.

It's probably just my nose, but to me this somehow smells more like cotton candy -- or just sugar, really really really really sweet marzipan -- than the kind of warm simple nutty smell I was hoping for. It's still pleasant, but not quite what I expected.

This does moisturise well though, if you like the smell.

I bought this body butter when it became discontinued and put on the clearance rack for $10. This was actually my first body shop body butter purchase because $20 was too pricey for me, but I'm much happier now that they lowered the price to $18 (they were $16 for quite a while!) and combined with promotional events (buy 3 get 2 free/ 50% off everything in the bag), the body shop offers a good quality body butter for a reasonable price.

I found the consistency of the Almond one to be thicker than some of the other fruitier scents, probably because it's prescribed for normal/dry skin. I warm it up in my hands first and though it first feels a bit oily on the skin, it absorbs quite nicely after a bit. I have really dry skin and this kept my arms and legs moisturized a good portion of the day.

As for the scent, it's not as powerful and annoying as some of the others. To me, it smells a lot like almond milk (or Chinese almond dessert / almond tea)... not too sweet, and not too bitter. It also fades after an hour or so, making it good for going out if you prefer more subtle scents.

The packaging, as with all Body Shop body butters, is the only downside to this product. I just don't like products where I have to dip my fingers into the container as it isn't very sanitary or user friendly. Maybe one day, they will put it into a squeeze tube and make me happy.

Overall, love this product and will buy it again. Perhaps not my favourite BB, but it is one I enjoy using and I am sad it got discontinued. My guess is that it will be re-promoted again sometime in the future.

Update: They have the Almond Body Butter again for $18.

Edit: As of Aug 2011, I have decided to cut the amount of products I have with parabens and products with "fragrance" listed in the ingredients. I am sad to say I will not be repurchasing this (even though I love the smell!) after I am finished with my current tub. Hopefully, the Body Shop will decide to eliminate parabens and some other chemicals from future formulas so I can embrace their yummy products again.

This is a great moisturizer. I bought it without sampling because there was an online sale. I'm certainly very happy with it. The only reason I would not repurchase this BB is my personal preference, the fragrance completely dissappears on my skin, and I like my BB to have some nice scent. Of course some people hate smelling their lotion all day, in which case I would say this is the BB for you, it's a great all-day moisturizer. I still reach for it on days when I know I'll be wearing a heavier perfume.
