I bought it on clearance. And now I know why. It was advertised for blondes so I purchased it hoping it would strip the brassiness out but I think my hair is even worse than before. I dunno what I'm gonna do with it but I bought both conditioner and shampoo.

I'm glad to see that others have been having issues with this shampoo because I was beginning to be afraid that it was just me and my hair going to h***! I used to love my hair but since I started using this I was having all kinds of issues: dry ruined ends, greasy flat roots, and lack of holding any style whatsoever. I also experienced a lot of what the below reviewers said. I don't even know if I will finish this up. Even cheapo Herbal Essences is way better than this.

I hoped this shampoo would brighten and enhance my medium gold-blonde hair. Unfortunately, it only turned my already oily hair into a greasy mess. I usually only wash my hair every other day (using dry shampoo in between), but when I washed my hair with this for the first time, I woke up with a greasy tangled mess. Usually my hair isn't tangled in the morning (yay satin pillowcases and straight hair!), so this was weird to me. But I figured that my hair was just adjusting to a new shampoo. So I kept using this awful stuff for two weeks. Big mistake. My hair was matted, dull, tangled, and greasy. And on top of all of that, I had started giving me tiny little bumps along my hair line. This is the first shampoo I have have ever thrown away. Usually I just save shampoos that don't work for me for traveling or I give it to friends, but this was just too crappy to even think about using again or passing it on to someone else. Unless you want your hair to turn into a giant greasy hair ball, stay away from this terrible shampoo.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!! I would give this awful shampoo negative lippies if that were possible.
I tried the Color Thrive for redheads and brunettes. (It's in the white bottle) I have red hair which is highlighted. After using this product, I was absolutely horrified to discover that the brownish pigment visible in the shampoo had sunk into the highlighted strands in my hair (which are more porous) turning them into an ugly shade of absolutley flat medium brown. And it wouldn't wash or condition out!
In order to get rid of this monster I had to dye my hair an allover red then re-highlight.
Colorthrive just absolutely RUINED my color. And it's supposed to be beneficial to colour treated hair.
Never, Never again! I don't recommend this product, even for use on the dog.

I bought this trying to find an inexpensive substitute for my Aveda color protectant shampoo. I have course, curly hair that is colored blonde. There is literally NO comparison. The TreSemme made my hair more brittle, and my color faded just as much as it would have with a regular cheap shampoo. Even good conditioners did not help. I now use this to wash my dog. It may be cheap but it is not a good product, at least for blondes. (Some TreSemme products I really like but not this!) Don't recommend, even for such a low price.

I love this shampoo (and the conditioner that goes with it). I've used this brand for 4 years now and absolutely love it. It keeps my haircolor from fading (I use the ColorThrive for Brunettes).

I do switch at times (from this to Pantene), but I love this stuff.

Pros : it's cheap, it's a huge bottle that has lasted me months, it didn't fade my color

Cons: it took me a while to figure out that this shampoo was the reason my hair gets super greasy after just one day, and I'm the type of person who likes to go two days without washing...by my third day my hair looks disgusting.

This got rated one of the worst DS shampoos...too bad I found that out AFTER I purchased. But like I said, it was cheap, so it's no biggie!

This is a great shampoo! I'm not sure if it protects my color or not but I can never tell anyway with other shampoos that I have tried (Pantene, Loreal Everpure..etc)
It makes my hair soooooooo silky smooth!!! And my hair is always a pouffy mess!!!!!!!!! It smells sooo good and the scent is not overpowering at all! I really notice a difference in my hair (colored, course and dry, frizz, the works..)

I have been working my way through a huge bottle of this in the brunette/red formula. It's taken me a long time to connect the weirdness going on with my hair to this shampoo (I can be a little slow). While I like the shine it gives to my hair, it also seems to leave my hair a bit greasy and limp, something that is not usually a problem for me. It's almost as though it doesn't totally clean my hair, or doesn't completely wash out. I had a similar problem with John Frieda Brilliant Brunette, so I wonder if it's something to do with the formula in these shampoos for brunette hair? I do think it does nice things, color-wise, for my brown hair with red highlights, but even though it's extremely cheap, I won't repurchase this. Alberto VO5, which costs around a dollar at my CVS, makes my hair feel much cleaner and bouncier than this.

For a drugstore brand I am quite fond of the Brunette & Red shampoo. I dye my hair a red color and this shampoo has done a good job at not washing out my red color faster than many other brands are known to. I normally keep TRESemme in my rotations of shampoo/conditioners depending on what goes on sale or if I am ready to splurge on some expensive hair products. The smell of this shampoo is also quite nice.

I generally use this most days, and interchange it with a shampoo which is specifically for dry hair (which mine is).
It's a good staple shampoo -and I use the conditioner too-it makes my hair feel manageable and soft, and I love the smell.
I have to say that since using this shampoo I have found that my hair can get greasy after 2 days, something I've NEVER experienced before and hadn't put my finger on until I read someone else's post and realised the link.
Doesn't seem to make any difference to preserving my hair colour (I have the blonde), but it's cheap, smells great and lasts ages so is good for daily shampooing.

This product has become a staple for me. There aren't many products I repeatedly purchase, but this is one of them. I have been buying it for about 3 years. I have dark brown, colored hair, and use it in the brunette/red formula. It leaves my hair and scalp feeling very clean, but doesn't leave my hair feeling stripped. It lathers well and rinses easily. My teenage son uses it too. He doesn't have colored hair, but says it is his favorite shampoo. It has made a difference in how long my haircolor lasts, really cuts down on fading.

The price is great, too. You get a lot of product for under $5. Definitely a keeper for me.

this product is okayy. i used it today and it made my hair kind of soft. but then again i don't really like it. i really really like the smell when you use it in your hair in the shower though. but it takes a while to get the product out of your hair. especially the conditioner. it's okayy i guess.

I bought the Color Thrive Blonde shampoo and conditioner, and I'm actually surprised at how nice it makes my hair look, though the color is about the same. It didn't really make my blonde highlights "pop," but I don't think they have faded as quickly either. The thing I really love about this shampoo is that it doesn't leave my hair feeling too oily or too dry, and I didn't break out in an itchy dandruff attack like I usually do when I try new shampoos. It's a HUGE bottle for very little money, so I think it's a great value. Overall, I would buy this again, but don't expect it to make blonde highlights really stand out.

I had high hopes for this shampoo and condition. On day 1 of washing my hair with this product my hair looks great, very shiny but by evening and then the following day my hair looks extremely greasy. Greasy hair is not normally a problem for me and I can get away with washing my locks every two days. Not a bad shampoo but not a great one either

I'm reviewing for the blonde shampoo, and after reading only the blonde haired peoples reviews I have to agree with them. This shampoo is SO nice! It makes my hair so smooth, lathers great and smells good too. When my hair was brunette I tried the spray from this line and didn't like it at all, but this was so much better. My hair looks so great and when I use this with John Frieda spotlight it makes my hair look like the perfect shade of blonde, like I just got my highlight done! The conditioner is nice too, overall, great product for blondes. I'd suggest it to a friend =D

Yet another drugstore colour preserving shampoo that contains sodium chloride (a chemical that makes colour fade quickly). I didn't expect this from Tresemme though because it claims to be of professional quality and professional shampoos do not contain sodium cholride. Oh well, another reason for me to stay away from drugstore shampoos.

After 5 years of being a brunette (my natural color), I got bored and decided to go blond again a few months ago. I love being a blond!! Anyway, I've been using ColorThrive for Blondes ever since, and my hair looks blonder and less brassy than it did when I left the salon. I love it! It smells so sweet and fruity and it lathers good. I use it with the matching Conditioner (I keep it on for 3 minutes). I will definatley buy this again. The price is also very good for the quantity....it's lasted me for a long time and I use it every other day.

I switched over to this brand almost two years ago and have enjoyed using it ever since. The smell is great and it lathers well. It extends the color of my color-treated hair longer, so I definitely recommend this!
