It picked up too much of my L'oreal Age Reperfect foundation and then applied too thickly. It left bristle-like streak marks all over my face and I was ready to be hung like a terrible oil painting in an art gallery. I had to bury my face in a towel to dab off some of the excess foundation. I've never used a foundation brush before this. Are they all like this?

Although I already own two foundation brushes (one from Clinique and one from ELF), I couldn't resist buying one from Avon! In the catalog, they look fabulous and luxurious and have received rave reviews on MUA, so I figured why not give them a try, especially for the price!

PROS: I like the look of the product--sleek, shiny black handle and ferrule. No shedding so far. Great price! Applies as smoothly as my other brushes. Like that it comes w/a frosted plastic case for travel or storage.

CONS: Feels very prickly and scratchy on my face, although it felt fine on my hand!! I am very disappointed by how scratchy it feels, much more so than my ELF foundation brush. Also, the lettering is already coming off the brush--not a huge problem, but I expected better quality.

Overall, I would not buy this product again. I am really bummed, because I wanted to love it but can't. :(

I keep purchasing foundation brushes but I always go back to this one. Its soft, and applies my makeup well but I gave it a 4 though because I find it kinda streaks my liquid foundation a little bit and I have to go over it a couple of times to blend out the lines.

I decided to buy this because of the hype to apply foundation with a brush. I think for the price it's great. It works very well for me. However it is the only foundation brush I have ever bought or used so I don't have another one to compare it to.

Well I bought this because of all the rave reviews. Can't resist buying a product when everyone else is loving it!! Unfortunately, I don't love this. Maybe I'm spoiled by my MAC skunk brush, which is the best.
Nice and big and a few swipes and you are done. This brush is sooo small....is good for getting into small areas, but for applying your foundation, MAC has this beat by a mile. It IS nice and soft, but again, only for small areas.

This is a great brush and costs just a fraction of the price of most high end ones. Nice sturdy but smooth bristles, easy to clean, well made. It applies liquids and creams really well, I'm very happy with it.

it's safe to say that nearly all foundation brushes are created equal... how hard is it to mess up something with synthetic bristles? this is a nice foundation brush at a good price... think i paid $2.

I got this brush for $2.99. I don't use it for applying liquid foundation, but I have to say that this brush is very good quality. It has firm, soft bristles that aren't feel scratchy. It's very easy to clean with water and soap. I've washed it lots of times, and I don't think it's shed for me yet. Highly recommended.
9/7/2008: No shedding yet.

this is my first foundation brush.. i also bought it on ebay for a super cheap price!! this was amazing compared to application with a sponge!! i would buy again because it was a good quality for a very cheap price but i think i can do better so i'm going to get the lancome foundation brush soon and i will update on whether i like it better or not. I haven't had any problems with shedding.. the handle did fall off but i guess i get more control without it anyways!! Overall it does it's job very well and I would definately reccommend it!

great cheapie foundation brush... actually my first. it is very soft and about the right size to reach everywhere while still being efficient. got on ebay, and i don't know if this is a fluke, but mine has shed a lot of hairs :( this is the only complaint though... great buy

After looking at all the expensive makeup brushes for about $35 everywhere, I came across this in an Avon book and i had to have it for $6. This is sooooo great, I'm thinking of buying another one as a back up because I dont ever want to go back to a sponge again. I love it when I wore it, I actually had more foundation on my face compared to using a sponge (which absorbed all the foundation before I would have a chance to put it on my face). I have oily skin and this left me with an even coverage. I love the way it feels in the morning, its like putting a feather across my face, sorta romantic.

I had never used a foundation brush before, but after reading this brush's rave reviews, I decided to give it a try. I purchased mine off of Ebay as well. What a difference! I found using a cosmetic sponge left streaks, and using my fingers didn't give a flawless blended look. With this brush, I can control where I need opaque coverage (under my eyes) and sheer (around my jawline) coverage. It took me about a day to get the hang of it, but now that I've got my technique down - I'm im love! Now, I've just got to get MAC brush cleaner, this handsoap & water thing is for the birds!

After reading reviews on using a foundation brush, thought I'd start with the lowest price I could find which was this Avon brush (on eBay). Pleasantly surprised with the ease of using it and my liquid foundation went on very smoothly too, leaving no streaks. Have already bought another to have on hand and also purchased the Chanel travel foundation brush (also on eBay). I really don't see much of a difference with the way each brush works in applying my foundation. Chanel may feel a little softer as compared with Avon's brush, but both do a good job.

For $3.99 this is a nice brush. I use it to apply mineral foundations and it works perfectly. Overall, I have found Avon products to be of wonderful quality at reasonable prices. This should be a staple in every makeup bag!

This is the first foundation brush I have ever used and I gotta say I love it! I love the way my foundation goes on using this brush. It's super soft and doesn't leave stroke marks like I thought it would. Very nice brush - I would definitely buy another one :)

Having never used a foundation brush before, (finger user), this was just a little tricky to get used to. but I can see the benefit to use this instead of old way.

A decent foundation brush should be in every woman's brush collection. As someone who spent years as a pro makeup artist, I cringe to think that there are people using fingers and latex sponges to apply foundation.

In the past, a good foundation brush could set you back about $35-$50. Not anymore. My favorite is probably my Smashbox brush, but I just bought the Avon Professional Makeup Brush new and boxed on eBay for $3.50.
I wear mark. Face X-Pert foundation or else a tinted moisturizer daily. I applied both with this brush and though at first the bristles seemed too rough, they quickly softened up with a little spritz of mineral water.
This brush doesn't FEEL as luxurious as high end brands, but it certainly works the same way--creating a seemless, natural apprearance with little effort. This is a fantastic buy!
