I really like this stuff! It foams really nicely. Feels rather luxurious.
I'm already suuuper pale, so I wasn't looking for whitening, more just brightening. And in the brightening compartment it succeeded. I just found I had to use it consistently twice a day, every day. Otherwise it didn't work.

Love this powder cleanser-too bad it's discontinued. DHC is the only other company that makes this type of cleanser. Foams well, easy to use, and GREAT for travel! Would be even better in smaller bottles for travel.Great for my oily, breakout prone skin.

I bought this during TBS 30% discounts (bought at S$20.93 RRP is S$29.90). It is expensive for such a small amount of products, but it is worth every cents. I used TBS Aloe cleansing lotion to remove my make up, then followed by this cleanser on slightly wet palms, I only rub a little then massage onto my face. Love the light scrubbing effect. But it turns to creamy foam very fast, then I gentle massage for a while, then rinse off with lots of water. Can see my skin is clean, pores more refine, face seems to brightens up. But I do feel abit drying even for my combination skin type. I find this is like dermalogical Daily microexfoliant, but cheaper. Will alternate with my other TBS cleanser.

I bought this cleanser around new year when it was out on sale at $5. I should've bought more if only for the sake of dirt cheap price. I like this cleanser because it's very gentle. But I wouldn't buy at its original price (it is discontinued anyway). To remove makeup I use a cream makeup remover and then cleanse with this powder. Mix the powder with small amount of water and it lathers up nicely. The bottle lasts a long time although it is only half full (not a defect but it is manufactured that way).

For me, this was just a very basic cleanser. The powder is a novel idea - a little unusual and fun to use. It comes in an opaque white bottle with a silver screw cap. I would have prefered a flip-top. As others have noted, it can be hard to tell how much you have left, but just hold it up to the light and give it a shake, you should be able to see the shadow of the powder in the bottle. It lathers up easily, but doesn't get as foamy as I'd really like. Still, it leaves my skin clean and fresh, though it's a little drying (nothing that a moisturizer can't fix.)
I have not noticed any brightening effect. The condition of my skin has gotten a little worse since I switched over to this cleanser - it's not bad, I haven't broken out or anything, it's just I've lost that glow that I had with my previous cleanser. Unfortunately this just doesn't do anything for me that a cheaper cleanser can't.

The first time I tried it, I guess I didn't mix the powder with water well, I put the product onto my face before it foamed well, the tiny bit of powder cut my skin so badly that it hurt like hell when I was trying to wash the cleanser away, after that I had to stand one day without washing my face or body for fear that it would hurt even more.
I tried it again after that, though I made sure I only put the "bubble" onto my skin, it's still way too drying, the sad thing is that the "mousse" version doesn't seem to be strong enough, and the "podwer" version is way too strong.
I returned it three days after I bought it, along with the day cream and serum from this line, the only product I like in this line is the mask.
I never do like facial products from The Body Shop much, I guess they just don't agree with my skin.

I just finished up a bottle of the St.Ives Olive cleanser so I sporadically picked up this White Cleansing Powder while I was browsing TBS. The sales person recommended this cleanser highly, she assured me that it cleans makeup well and that it would last a long time. I've never tried a powder-to-foam cleanser before so I thought now was a good chance.
I like the packaging, how it's simple and light weight. The hole on the top is quite small so there's no worry of pouring out too much product. 4/5 for packaging.
I got this for $26CAN, which I feel is a hefty price for a cleanser. However, keeping in mind this 50 gram powder product could last you much longer than any gel/cream cleansers can, the price is worth its value. 4/5 for value
I enjoy lathering the cleanser on my face, it's very gentle. An important factor I feel a cleanser cannot do without is it's ability to remove makeup. This cleanser removes face makeup easily, but I can't say the same for eye makeup. Now, I can't really be too hard on it because there are eyemakeup removers for a reason. This cleanser would've completed my life if it had removed my eyemakeup (ie.Eyeliner, mascara). This cleanser left my skin clean, brighter, and supple without residue. 4/5 for cleanability.
On the whole, I like this cleanser very much and I would gladly repurchase *cough* If I don't get side-tracked by new products. Knowing me, I'm a skincare slut and I can't stay true.

I had messed up my face LUSHs coal soap with left it seriously dry, red, ITCHY! tryed every moisturiser I had at the time, olay, garnier, frickin creme de la mer lotion and they all did NOTHING. When I used this the first time in the shower i could actually feel my skin calming down, in one use, there was no redness, itchiness and the flakies were gone. It lasts ages and is perfect for travel.

Ok, I admit it, my ideal cleansing system consists of ONE product (vs. the Clinique 3-step, for instance). This one does a good job of cleansing and exfoliating, which is good cuz I am a scrubbaholic and this is pretty gentle.
Best way is to wet your face, shake some on your fingers, and go to town scrubbing (less water = better scrub); ignore the instructions to mix in your hand.
It leaves my skin feeling smooth, even-toned and brighter looking, though this doesn't seem to last.
The product seems to last a long time (can't tell cuz the container's opaque in order to protect the product) and I'll repurchase if I haven't found something better.
Brightening properties could be stronger (should be used with the serum, yes?) and the scrub could be deeper (for me, anyway) but it is pretty fantastic, otherwise.
It's also really great mixed with lemon / lime juice if you want an extra kick (in this case, shake some powder into your cupped hand and squeeze enough juice on to make a paste, blend directly on face)..

i'm still on my first bottle... it lasts a long time! even though the bottle is only half full when i bought it. i already bought two back ups notes on the product:
packaging: lightweight white bottle with a tiny spout. i have no problems with the spout really, i rarely overpour the powder out. my only gripe is that the bottle is opaque and you can't tell how much is left and all that.
texture: comes out as a grainy powder but makes a smooth foam that's not like crazy lather, but not bubbly like a foaming you get from gell cleansers.
use: i wet my face and my hand - i pour some onto my hand and then i just scrub it all over my face... sometimes i add a little extra water if my face isn't wet enough, or else it'll end up making a paste on my face
results: definitely softer smoother skin. i think my school does look clearer, but it wasn't too bad to begin with, just a couple of acne scars that are pretty much faded.
it doesn't irritate or cause more pimples... i think it's especially good for my oily skin because it seems to "dry" it out a little, unlike other cleansers which makes me oily again only after 15minutes.
the pros far outweigh the cons, and i'll be using this until i can find a better cleanser! thumbs up

my first review.. oooo..
bought this cleanser a month ago. has seen improvement in my skin. even my dad says so (he didn't realise that i had my ear pierced until this year and i had my ear pierced 4 years ago) so when my dad realised something, it says alot. lol.
I'm a skin-picker. so i've got lots of black spotty scars left on my face. After using this for 2 weeks, some of the spots were lighter. I like the way it felt on my skin made me feel really squeaky clean.
i've got acne-prone skin and i didn't break out. so it's good.
not sure if it's just this product bcos currently i'm using the Dermologica Daily Resurfacer and i find that these 2 might be working in conjunction. Read somewhere that AHA acids (found in Dermologica) helps to exfoliate the skin and when used together with Vitamin C (which this cleanser has), produces a brightening effect for the skin.
But overall, i really like the product and will be buying this again.

I bought this cleanser because I'm always interested in products that claim to brighten the skin. I do feel that this product delivers on that account, however, as a cleanser I feel this product falls short. I like the idea of a powder that turns to a foam, but I don't like how it leaves my skin feeling dry and squeeky. I also think, but I'm not sure, that everytime I use this alone, my skin condition becomes worse. I could use this in the morning alone, but at night when I want to get rid of all my sunscreen and make up I feel it's much better if I wash my face with the aloe vera facial wash (after the mac cleansing oil). That leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh and not dried out at all. All in all, I like the brightening effect and I also like the fresh look of the white bottle with the silver cap, but I won't buy it again.

I usually use a cleansinig balm or oil to remove makeup, and follow with this cleansing powder. I find it quite effective at removing the balm or oil, and rarely need to follow with a swipe of toner. I have experienced no irritations, breakouts or dryness, but I haven't seen any whitening either (not that I expected it from this product). It's a pleasure to use, I just tip a small amount into my palm, spread between my two hands and massage onto my face. The powder turns grainy upon contact with water because the particles stick together, but they quickly dissolve into a liquid so there actually isn't much exfoliation in this process. My skin is combo/oily/sensitive/acne-prone (yep - all of those) and I find powder products work quite well on my skin (especially powdered masks). Packaging is ok - it comes in a tall opaque white bottle which is easy to store and travel with, and it's quite light too. Only gripe is you can never see how much is left. Still - I think I shall be repurchasing this one.

This stuff is AWESOME! I love the way my skin feels..soft and so smooth! The best part is that you receive instant gratification.. I have been only using this product for a week in conjunction with the toner and serum.. The cleanser is very effective at removing foundation and lipstick.. which is all good to me! A must buy!

I have been using this along with the moisture White serum and toner and have been pleased with the results; my skin looks more even and fresh and I think it's helping to combat the damage I did when being a tanaholic in college. I find that if I wet my face, wet my hands, it's just the right amount of moisture to make this product into a paste. I shake about a dime-sized amount into my hand and rub my hands for a paste, then rub onto the skin. This way, the paste still has some exfoliating properties but cleans the entire face and neck. Unlike other reviewers, I think it does a good job of taking of basic makeup (foundation, mascara, etc.) but do need a remover beforehand if wearing primer, liquid liner, etc. If you use the small amount, the bottle lasts a long time, making the price a bit easier to bear. Like others, I do find it a bit drying, though have found if I try harder to rinse my face, it's not as tight (think it leaves a layer, may be what evens out the skintone though). No noticeable fragrance, and I haven't seen any irritation or breakouts with my dry/sensitive skin. I use it at the sink at night, so haven't had trouble with the packaging.

I don't know if this product is too blame or not, but my mildly dry facial skin became so dry and flaky that I would show up to work and my face would look a mess. No amount of facial cream would relieve the dryness. I think I will return this product.

Its a powder cleanser and form very smooth liquid after it was mix with water. However, this is too dry for my skin, it pulls after i clean my face. Plus it could not remove make-up. Furthermore the price is too high for the product. And its difficult to mix with juz your hands, need assistance of a small bowl or contaniner. Wont repurchase

This unique cleansing powder lathers very well and really cleans my skin. Doesn't leave my skin dry nor irritated as some previous reviewers have stated. Hopefully, this will "brighten" my skin as promised, not counting on it, but keeping my fingers crossed. So far so good.
