The first day i used this cream my skin felt so soft and looked radiant. But unfortunetly, after using it a few more times, I felt as if it sucked away moisture from my skin. I even bought the nourishing facial oil, and mixed it with the cream, but still had very dry patches. So overall, I would say this cream is better suited for oily skin.

Like other people have commented on the smell....it is a bit overwhelming when you first start using this line, but that is now something i have grown to love rather than the smell of harsh chemicals in other products! I used the lemongrass cleanser, toner and this balancing lotion. I do love this line and it did stop my acne for a good few months although after using for a year i am left with small pimples on forehead and mouth area and i have never had cystic acne untill i used these products either, but it could have been from something else so i cant say it was suki! I have gone to using other products now as i have to say for something that doesnt 100% work for me i am not willing to pay £30 a time for each product! After using this i do get realllllyyyy oily skin within a few hours. I love how they make my skin feel so clean, soft and moisturised, with in a few weeks the condition of my skin had visibly improved. I would only purchase it again now as a moisture treat for my skin and use it a once or twice times a week. Suki is an amazing skin care line, but its just not for me to use every day.

This is now called "Balancing Day Lotion" but I don't think they have changed the formulation.

On the recommendation of people who used the Suki line I purchased this to use in the day with the "Pure Facial Moisture, Balancing" for use at night. While this cream soaks in and definitely doesn't do anything BAD, it doesn't make much of a positive difference in my skin. I find that midway through the day I have some dry areas on the bridge of my nose or around my mouth.

In contrast, the "Pure Facial Moisture, Balancing" does a great job with my skin at night...after I finish the container of "Balancing Day Lotion" I think I'll graduate to the uberCream they make, the "Facial Lift Ultimate Firming Cream" and use it as an eye balm too.

For reference my skin is combo/dry, acne-prone and can be a touch sensitive occasionally - I usually use moisturisers for normal-dry or sensitive skin as many combination ones I have tried don't provide enough hydration. Initially, I didn't think much of this moisturiser as the texture is not something I would usually go for as this has a slightly thin, liquid sort of texture where as I go for more creamy type formulas. However, I actually really love the way it applies smoothly into the skin and absorbs well. This would be an excellent moisturiser for the summer months as it doesn't feel heavy but still does provide good hydration and a good base for makeup. It also doesn't have any adverse reactions with my skin, I feel it is actually helping it. I like natural ranges, and Suki is gradually becoming another favourite of mine. It is a bit pricey, but I would buy again.

I really like Suki's skincare line. The lemongrass cleanser is refreshing, as is the toner. This moisturizer is okay, it's thin and slippery when you apply it, which I like. However, the smell is SO STRONG. Very herb-y. I'd pay more for something that smelled better.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this, as I tried it with some trepidation. My skin reacts badly to m...a...n...y things, and as Suki's ingredients lists don't specify all the essential oils they use in each product, I was cautious to begin with. As it turned out I didn't experience any irritation whatsoever, but this is an exception rather than the rule and doesn't stop me from thinking that Suki should provide exhaustive ingredients information.

Since my skin is so contrary, I moisturise it on an "as and when needed" basis rather than out of habit so as not to overload it. I used this approximately every other day, with sunscreen on top, during the "summer" (written with irony as I'm on the east coast of Scotland). I would and may repurchase it, finances permitting, as I found this left my face the ideal canvas for foundation without merely sitting on the surface like a primer. Although at the time it was going through a very irritable phase, my skin looked comfortable, well cared for and more even in tone. It was smooth and dewy, but not in the way that tends to herald an oil slick. Although this product unfortunately doesn't suit everyone, for me the only thing that could improve it as a day cream is the addition of a mineral SPF.

I absolutely LOVED the smell of Suki's Velvet Facial Creme. (Now called Balancing Day Lotion, by the way.) Every time I use it, the smell is so good that it feels like a deep breath of fresh, calming air. My finicky skin started out liking this product - it moisturizes well, sinks in quickly, works well under make-up. I think, in the end, this product was just too heavy for my already oily skin. After a few weeks of trying it out, my skin would becomes very oily within the first hour. (Normally, I get a 2-3 hour break before the oilies become a massive problem.) Maybe I can give this product another try during the more drying winter months, but for summer time, I definitely won't be using this again!! (*sobbing*)

I love this product. It is silky smooth and doesn't leave my face dry or greasy and does not make my face break out worse. Im not sure which Suki product, or if its a combination of the cleanser, toner and this one, but my face seems to be clearing up. A little of this seems to go a long way. The only down side is the price. Ouch!

Best moisturizer EVER. I have acne prone skin and the chamomile has been sooo helpful. Pair this with the exfoliating Lemongrass Cleanser and you will be amazed at how fabulous your skin looks, feels, even smells! :) I use it daily and will re-purchase.

dried my cheeks out, and made my nose area break out. Yuck. my skin looks dry and tired. This product does not agree with me. Also, hate how it just sits on top of my face all day and doesn't really feel like it gets absorbed anywhere.

EDIT: Gave another lippie because thought I was a bit too harsh. it is a good product, since it's actually natural unlike most products that claim to be so. The key here is to know if you react well to jojoba oil. I don't hence the bad review.

This makes a great summertime/daytime moisturizer. It's light-weight and doesn't make my skin feel greasy after using it. I plan to use this all summer long, but will use a stronger moisturizer when the weather gets colder.

I decided to switch over to Suki for the warmer months since my ultra thick winter cream is getting to be too much now that spring is setting in. I read about Suki in a local newspaper and found it at a health store. It's been a week but so far I really like it! In the spring/summer my skin gets extremely combo...the oilies are REALLY oily and the dry spots are just as flaky as ever. I like how this 'creme' (I don't consider it a creme, more like a serum/creme hybrid perhaps) sinks into my skin when I apply it as directed, while my skin is still damp from the Suki toner I bought which I also really like. My skin isn't greasy afterwards and no dry flakes, just nice and soft. It seems like the overall appearance of it is better too, brighter and not as blotchy. Love love love and I'm looking forward to trying more Suki products!

I really wanted to love this product because I love the idea of Suki and natural skin care. I adore Suki lemongrass cleanser and the white willow toner but I just could not get behind this product. My skin is never dry but was hit by a second child and a harsh Chicago winter. No matter how much of this I used and how many times I layered with the Suki oil and toner, my skin would remain tight and uncomfortable. A little, a lot, it didn't matter, no change. My skin was actually getting dry, and it is NEVER dry. I was looking old and tired. I finally gave up and switched to another brand and it only took one night to get back to normal. I see that this worked for others, but not me.
Pros: great pump container, cool packaging, natural, nice smell, did not cause breakouts
Cons: not enough moisture even for combination skin, all products seem to have the same ingredients with slight variations.
Bought twice, would not by again.

Well, hate to be that girl who ruins the good reviews, especially when it's not really a bad product, but I just can't get behind it. The texture, as opposed to be being "velvet," which implies smooth and creamy, is thin and sticky and sits on the face. I think velvet, I think melt-in texture. Plus, well it's nice and calming, it's not too moisturizing either. Worth checking out, but know what you're getting!

I am the pickiest skincare connoiseur and I will only use completely non-synthetic skincare. This has got to be my all time favorite lotion! I always come back to it. My skin just drinks it up and feels relaxed, calm, even comforted! It's an incredibly soothing lotion for all skin types (i'm oily, fair, freckled). If you're dry, make sure your cleanser is super gentle- Suki's cream cleanser would be perfect- otherwise this lotion might be a little light. I haven't found products that smell more heavenly than Suki! My alltime fave line! If you need a good sunscreen to go over it, MyChelle and Naturopathica make gentle, non chemical sunscreens. I just use mineral makeup.

I am a natural cosmetic fanatic. The more natural the better. I am constantly on the lookout for items that are truly natural and don't just claim to be. This is AMAZING!!! It makes my 37 year old sun damaged skin look dewy and youthful and it smells fabulous. I will look no further for the best morturizer ever. The only downfall is that it may be a little too shiny if you apply too much. A little goes a long way. Just apply a little mineral powder and you are good to go. Try it, you'll love this product and line.

I threw over La Mer for this stuff. It's the only stuff I can use when I'm all irritated and dried out and flakey from prescription topicals that doesn't irritate me and calms the red/dry situation stat.

I used to use La Mer for this purpose, but this is a far superior product. I don't think it would be really great for anything other than normal to oily skin that needs a lighter dosage of moisture because it is very light in consistency. I hate heavy products so this is the answer to my moisturizer dreams. Nice pump too. At less than $27 you cannot beat it! And it smells divine.

I really like this product, especially when mixed with a drop of Suki's facial serum. I have used this daily from about February to now, and it's basically all gone. The creme is very light and thin, lovely scent, non-irritating, comes in a pump. It doesn't have sunscreen and may not be moisturizing enough for some people. I am trying to decide if I want to spend another $26 for 1.7 oz again. But overall, it's a great product and I probably will repurchase when I am done with my other moisturizers.

Velvet is definitely the right term for this creme! It is the smoothest lotion I think I've ever tried. It's also absurdly lightweight, going on with a consistency not much thicker than a serum! For me there are a couple of negatives, unfortunately: 1. My skin is very fair, and I need SPF (not that everyone shouldn't use sun protection). This is recommended as a day creme, and I can't go outside without some sort of sunblocking power on. Even SPF 15 is fine. 2. My skin seems a bit too dry for this. I put it on and then need to reapply five minutes later. Perhaps during the summer months this will be perfect, but even now, in the spring, I need more moisture. I'd still recommend anyone try this, because it feels so nice going on my face. Beautiful texture!
