Bought a teeny sample of this since it was described as citrusy - my favorite kind of smell. yet I could hardly smell anything - maybe it was a reflecton of the sample (I bought it on one of those websites that decant all kinds of fragrances into small vials for a couple of dollars). Last night I practically poured a quarter of the vial onto myself and had my husband smell me - he could hardly detect anything.
On to my search for other citrusy fragrances when I am bored of Light Blue and Jo Malone Nectarine Honey

I picked this up at Sephora for only $30! I loved how it smelled in store....like a fresh, ripe, juicy orange. Yum! I've been using it for a month and it doesn't smell the same...I would describe it as having a grassy quality to it which I won't like at all. I would not purchase this again although I LOVE the Mat; bottles! They are like little peices of art.

I was predisposed to like "Mat Orange" given its tantalizing notes below. However, to my nose, it smelled like a bland orange blossom scented shampoo from VO5 or for those of you who grew up in the 70's, one of those orange milkshake concoctions from Orange Julius. Anyways, Mat Orange had no complexity or note development. It was just sweetish, boring, babyish orange so I was not unhappy when after 30 minutes it disappeared from my skin. Ho hum.

If you love orange perfumes as I do, be sure to sniff Fendi Theorema (creamy orange), Frederic Malle's Bigarade Concentree (zesty spicy orange) and Red Flower's Guaiac (hippie chic orange) which all blow Mat Orange away.

Here are the notes, courtesy of The Perfume Court: blood orange, bitter orange, watermelon, passion fruit, apricot, mango, mandarine, lotus flower and crystal musk.

This is my absolute favorite perfume ... I can't really say anything that the others on this board haven't already said, except to throw in my hat about the lasting power of this perfume: I definitely wish it would last longer. The light dry-down scent lasts throughout the day, and fortunately I like that scent a lot, but I wish the brighter citrus top note would stick around for a while longer. Nevertheless, I wear this perfume almost every single day, and I bring a small spritzer along for freshening up!

This fragrance smells wonderful. I don't like perfumey smells & this has sort of a fragrant orange blossom smell. It doesn't smell strictly orange, but definitely wins in the fresh department. Two minor criticisms would be the odd shaped bottle & that it doesn't last very long. I spray alot on because it dries down quickly to a faint scent. Worth a try at Sephora!

If you love the scent of fresh oranges, give this one a try. Fragrance is PERFECT, a burst of sunshine in a rainstorm, refreshing anytime. Staying power is not strong, but at $60 for 1.35 oz, it's affordable enough that ;) you won't feel guilty about reapplying liberally whenever you feel like it. Seriously a lovely orange scent, worth the money.

I was trying to decide between this and another scent on a recent trip, and decided to spray this one on and see how it lasted and changed before buying it. I got so many compliments and people asking me what I was wearing, I knew I had to get it. It is so fresh smelling, and lasts a long time. Doesn't take on a strange smell as it is fading. I didn't even consider the other scent after this. Love it!

This is a chilled orange scent done to perfection. No foody vanilla, no musky undertones, no florals muddying the scent (at least to me). It sprays on smelling like fresh, cold oranges, and it it stays that way. Well done! The only problem is...do I want to smell like that? Or do I just like the smell as it stands by itself?

Absolutely beautiful! I love this! I agree with the raves below...really they should have named this one HAPPY! It really is bottled sunshine. Doesn't have that chemical drydown. Stays true from beginning to end. I just love it! I would love to spray this one on all day long! You must try this if you love orange scents. This must be one of my top 3 summertime scents along with Carthusia Mediterraneo.

Here is the description of this scent from Sephora.com....."Joyful orange is the head of this fresh cocktail that's reinforced with summer and exotic fruits. Once on the skin, the scent of lotus flower and crystal musk are present and are reminiscent notes of the classic Mat; fragrances.

Notes:
Blood Orange, Bitter Orange, Watermelon, Passion Fruit, Apricot, Mango, Mandarin, Lotus Flower, Crystal Musk."......

I love this!! This is what I wanted from the new L'artisan Mandarine scent. I loved the opening of the L'artisan but it was basically gone in 60 seconds on me and the ending was a woody mess. All the joyfulness of the citrus that I loved just did not last at all. This is not as juicy as the L'artisan but it is just a fabulous orange scent. It's like sitting next to a person who is peeling and eating an orange. It's pretty straight forward, there are no suprises in the drydown. It startd out as a bright fun orange zest scent and it just becomes a weaker one, not really changing that much at all. I actually think that the linear quality of this scent is a good thing here because I like it at first spray and it's pretty much that throughout. Really wonderful intepretation of an orange.

I am totally head over heels over this perfume~ I am a FAN as is the other fellow boardie who reviewd this :) This smells just like orange zest!! Light, refreshing, and definitely no chemical smell. Even the girl at the store where I bought it was going insane because she was so surprised at how truly orangy it smelled. It fades down into a softer orangy scent. I gave it a spray on the wrist, and behind the neck and I smelled it on my almost all day everytime I moved my hair. The price is a little high for a small bottle, but I think the wonderful scent is totally worth it. 2 THUMBS UP!! WAY UP!!

This is a refreshing sunshine scent - I like to tell myself it is "Happy" without that chemical smell. I am a fan of The Body Shop Satsuma but, even that dries down to a strange scent on my skin. This scent however, stays true to its orange name - it is how I imagined Jo Malone Orange Blossom SHOULD smell like. I hope they keep this scent in the line as it seems to be a lovely sunshiney, cheer me up type of scent. We can use that one year round! The price is of course too high for such a small amount of EDP and the lasting power seems to be 3-4 hours at best. That said - this stays true to its bright and blossomy sweet opening notes and does not let me down during the day by changing into something it should not be. Give this a try...especially if you like Satsuma type of scents. Sweet Fresh and bright. This could become a staple in my day ...like orange juice with my breakfast.
