I wish that MAC would still make these. I love this liner in every single way. For me the brush applicator is perfect, the texture of liner is perfect, it is easy to apply because it is not too watery whereas it would make an uneven line like Bourjois Clubbing liner does to me. It has nice sheen to it. I have never ever used another liner which would keep my eye makeup looking fresh all day. This does not go any where at all. I always get compliments when wearing this color as it makes my green eyes pop. All other MAC liquid liners are crap. I do not understand why they take these amazing liners of from the market.

you know that an eyeliner has lasting power if it stays put on asian monolids, and this eyeliner seriously will not budge for 24 hours. i have gone through ten tubes of this stuff within the last year and a half, dishing out a good $200, but i haven't found another product that works this well and has such a pretty color so i keep paying the $18 price tag. this purple eyeliner is my signature look --- i like to wear it extra thick and winged at the end with mac's prunella pencil liner on my bottom lid. this eyeliner is really pigmented and has a slight shimmer to it, but nothing overly glittery or anything. the applicator takes some getting used to, and even though i use this daily, it still takes me at LEAST five minutes to put on, and this is on a sloppy day. it's worth it though because i don't have to reapply like i do with pencil liner and it only comes off after i rub my eyes or after some harsh scrubbing in the shower. a couple months ago i was in the mac store buying some more of this stuff and the SA told me that i might want to stock up because they might be discontinuing fluidline (?!) so i bought two more tubes and haven't been back since so i don't know if they really discontinued it but i really hope they didn't!

First off, this eyeliner is for the skilled (or those who own a tiny eyeliner brush). The applicator features a flimsy brush that is pretty difficult to maneuver and that doesn't deposit product too evenly. It also requires an strong oil-based makeup remover. That said, it's a gorgeous color that won't budge. Looks great in moderation with my pale features. I've actually been able to wear one application of eyeliner for a few days while was still cleansing and moisturizing - saw a bit of flaking toward the end, though. The product has a long shelf-life and one tube has lasted me several months of daily use. Great eyeliner for those who can hack the application and removal.

Firstly, I find myself to be experienced enough with eyeliner applications that I almost never have any trouble. In addition, I tried this liner in different colours and they seem to come in better qualities than this one.
Unfortunately, this is my favourite colour of the bunch. I can still get it to look the way I want it to, but after trying the same liner in other shades, I felt almost deprived of something that I should have. Perhaps I got a bad one or whatever, but it just seems unacceptable.
In addition, it is difficult to remove. I have a separate eye make up remover from mac for it, and while it does remove it, it's just so hard and the remover itself is very harsh around my eyes.
Although, in the end, I don't know. I may end up purchasing it again. I've tried other purple liners and nothing looks like this. It stays for a long time, and the shade is absolutely perfect.

I'm not that skilled with liquid liner, so that isn't the reason for the negative review. The girl at the MAC counter showed me a nifty application trick - she tapped the open container on a mirror and it produced just enough to line both eyes - with any liner brush. I managed quite well with a slanted eyeliner brush. It took several tries to get a decent looking line, but finally managed.
What I found extremely annoying is the product removes itself. When I added to the line, what I applied removed what was already there. It's a get it right the first time only product - or it was for me.
Then there was that little detail of a wretched allergic reaction. I thought the first time I had just fuddled about too much and got loads of it IN my eyes but no. The 2nd time, I applied neatly and the reaction was worse. Itchy rash and watery eyes. It was also the only new product I wore that day. So back it went.

This is one of macs least popular items and it's no wonder why. The colour is beautiful but the application is terrible. This applicator brush is way to flimsy and colour does not apply evenly. If you fck up applying the liner, which you most likely will, it's nearly impossible to remove the accident overdose of liner. I hate this. I should've read the reveiws before buying it. Such a beautiful colour though, what a dissapointment.

This product gets a lot of mixed reviews, so I figured I would add in my two cents.. This eyeliner is for people who are comfortable with liquid liners. I can apply pretty evenly (although the initial swipe goes on too thick, hence 4 star rating) but I have never had any problems with liquid liner application.
The colour is fabulous with my green-grey eyes and will go with a wide range of eyeshadow colours. I like this with golds and browns to add a little pizazz.
I only use it on my upper lashline and doing so do not get any eye irritation and I have had lasik eye surgery so my eyes are a bit sensitive.
It does last, which is the big pro and con. I use the Rimmel eye makeup remover and it gets the large majority of it off right away. I do find some remaining flakes the day after but I don't really care about that. I am more happy that this actually stays put all day, which never happens with eye liners and me.
So, in summary, give this a try **if you are comfortable with liquid eyeliners**.

Love this violet-plum color. It's a fun substitute for the usual black/brown for the office and doesn't look too crazy. It makes my dark eyes pop, too! Also, it won't smudge for anything and will stay on for days. You need to remove it with the MAC cleansing oil and rub really well to get it off. Definite staple in my makeup bag.
Some of the reviewers said they had trouble with the texture and it may be because the tube is older. When I bought the navy blue version of the product, I bought the last one in stock, and it had been at the store for quite a while. I think because the tube was old, the formula had thickened up - I had a lot of trouble putting it on because it was so gloppy. I just repurchased the navy blue color, and the formula in the new tube was noticeably thinner and easier to apply. Also, my tube of the power plum color was as new as it could be when I bought it (the SA said they had just gotten it in that day), and the texture is very smooth. I have not had any trouble applying it (both thin and thick lines).

I last all day with no flaking what so ever =D. only problem is, its quite difficult to apply. it comes out uneven and have to coat an area a few more time so it doesn't look uneven or i tkae a q-tip and gently sweep off the extra product on the certain are. Colour is AMAZING makes my brown eyes pop, and is good for people who are afriad of colour.

this is an excellent eyeliner.
the brush just takes a lot of practice..
i thinned my stuff out with a TOUCH of water, and its a bit better, but still gloppy.
[big secret to get it off : MAC cleanse off oil. only thing that gets it off]

I love the shimmery purple color of this liner, but the formula is terrible! I can't get it applied properly to save my life. As others have mentioned, it is thick and goopy and applies very unevenly. I also have trouble with it flaking off once it's dried. I keep trying to make this work, cause the color is so nice and compliments my NW20 skin and blue eyes, but no luck so far. I will keep checking MUA to see if these lovely ladies have any other brilliant ideas to make this work!

Holy crap! You need a sandblaster to get this stuff off! And I have the Eyelids That Repel All Cosmetics No Matter What. This is a great dark purple with a little shimmer (when I want to tone it down a tad I put Laura Mercier Black Plum shadow over it). I'm not really fond of the brush -- I end up getting the liner all over my lashes. I need to get better with it. But so far, it's one of the few eyeliners I can keep from disappearing.

I've used this product over and over; it's a great, basic, liquid liner and i've gotten compliments on it's gorgeous purple colour. I used the brush it came with to apply. Swipe the brush on the edge of the tube so you don't have too much product on the brush when you're applying.
Like all liquid liners, it's tricky to use. I don't have surgeon hands, so after drawing it on, I neaten up the line with a Q-tip with baby oil on it.
It stays on for a very long time, and it's very waterproof. I've worn this swimming lots of times, and gone to a waterpark with this on. Doesn't budge. Use a very oily makeup remover, or baby oil like me, to take it off :)

After a nuclear attack, there will be three things remaining: cockroaches, Spam and Mac Liquidlast eyeliner. I tried this three days ago, and I'm still trying to get it off my eyes. This is definitely the worst MAC product I've ever tried, and one of the worst makeup products I've ever used. It doesn't apply smoothly, but very choppy and uneven. Dries very quickly, so heaven forbid you get it anywhere you don't want it. Flakes off quickly, leaving flakes all over the place. So then you have kind of a dotted line across your lid and under it. It is a BEAR to try to get off. I used waterproof makeup remover and it barely budged. I had to scrub my eyes with it, creating a lot of irritation. Like I said, three days later, it's still embedded in my lashes kind of like candle wax in a carpet that you can never get out. I have lost many lashes over something that is a terrible liner anyway. It irritated my contacts so badly I had to take them out for two days. I don't recommend this in any way. Booooooo.

GAH. the color is so nice, and glitters so very prettily in the sun, but i absolutely hate the brush. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the formula's thick and the brush isn't the best, so it's hard to control application. Also, the downside to the INCREDIBLE staying power is that it takes some serious effort to remove, even with oils. Don't know if I'll repurchase.

Gorgeous gorgeous color. I loved this the minute I put it on.
If you want a smoother application, you could always use a liner brush and simply gather some of the product from when you pull the brush out and use that to apply on your lid or waterline.
This does last, but I dont get when the boards say they won't budge or that they are hard to remove. I used my neutrogena e/m remover and in one swipe off it went.
Now, the only thing thats bugging me is that this seems to bother my eyes. Makes them itchy, irritated and slightly swollen. Most w/p eye makeup does this to me though. Too bad because I loooove this but thats the only reason I wont purchase again.

I love PowerPlum! I need liner that will last and this does it perfectly. The color is a beautiful eggplant/plum color with just enough shimmer to make it interesting. In regards to application - I have read all the problems others have with applying it with - but I have never tried to apply it with the actual brush it comes with. I get a tiny Japanese dipping sauce bowl, take the brush out and swipe it on the bowl, then take my personal eyeliner brush and apply it that way. I can take only what I need on my brush and typically don't end up with any thick patches or messy globs. This still take a little practice, but so does any liquid or gel eyeliner. I need to work fast as this dries super quick. So quick, in fact, that I need to usually swipe the bowl again for my lower lids. I make sure I close it tight in between applications, because it does dry fast. Then, in order to get it off my brush and the bowl, I apply some lotion to the bowl and swirl it around with my brush. I then wipe both off with a towel and *then* clean it with water. If I try to clean the bowl and brush with water immediately after use, I won't even budge. With lotion is wipes easily off. I make sure I clean it after every use. All this process is so worth it when I look at my eyes at 9:00pm at night and they still look like they did at 8:00 in the morning.

I've been wearing of trying liquidlasts for a long time because of all the things said for it being clumpy, too thick, and hard to remove. I like Powerplum a lot. It's everything Macroviolet should have been in regards to colour. It has a very metallic look with some shimmer in a deep plum shade.
I'm surprised I don't find the formula hard to use? I was honestly expecting this to feel like glue or something crazy because some reviews for LL liners sound horrific though it's a bit thick, the brush is decent.. and as long as you wipe your brush of the excess on the opening of the bottle, it works as fine as any eyeliner. The staying power is geat. It's not hard to remove either. I normally use an oil-base cleanser for gel liners/mascaras anyway. I just have to let it sit on the lid for a few seconds before wiping away. The main reason I give this a 4 is because it applies thick... which generally isn't a problem but due to the formula, it makes the liner look "wrinkly" or shall I put it nicely, dry... and I don't like that too much buit otherwise it's very nice.
