I purchased this along with the contour dome brush, another terrible brush by NYX. Knowing this was a drugstore brand with fair-to-middlin makeup, my expectations were not high. I thought it might be like the ELF brushes from the $1 line. Not even close - although it looks nice, it sheds like crazy, and is very fluffy and too flexible to lay down shadow very well. It sucks up the shadow, but it is hard to redeposit it well. This brush is also fairly large... comparable in size to the Eco Tools large shadow brush, but without the density of bristles or the slight stiffness that makes the Eco Tools brush perform so well. The shedding problem is really annoying and embarrassing when working on others. I washed it twice and it was still shedding tiny hairs that I had to brush away. I finally ended up throwing this out. Disclaimer: I purchased this through HauteLook.com, which has always sold quality gear and not seconds, but I have to wonder (based on the other positive reviews from people on MA) if perhaps NYX had a faulty batch that they thought they could dump off on a discount site... the performance of this brush left much to be desired.

Love it! It might be slightly too big for applying eyeshadow, but that could definitely be due to me being a complete schmuck when it comes to eyeshadows in general. BUT, I found another great purpose for this very soft and thick little brush - applying my liquid foundation! (Revlon Colorstay btw)
Works like a charm because I love this foundation but dislike the packaging and this brush fits nicely! I clean the brush after every application.

The only reason why I dislike this brush is because it is *slightly* too big for my small asian eyes. Otherwise this is an excellent brush! The bristles are super dense and you can pick up so much product with it. If only it were a bit smaller!

edit-I have now moved on to the stila #5 brush. I have found that the stila brush picks up much more pigment.

This is my go-to eyeshadow brush for applying color on the lid. The bristles are dense but soft and pick up just the right amount of pigment. I really like how it is wider than most eyeshadow brushes. I have also had no problems with shedding. This is definitely a keeper! I got this for $4.99 at cherryculture.com. Third from right.

This is one of many NYX brushes I own, and it's one of my favourites!! You cannot beat the price, or the quality for that matter. The hairs are so soft, yet stiff enough to effectively hold, apply, and blend product. The brush itself is quite stylish and attractive. I've cleaned it a number of times and no hairs have fallen out. I suggest using this brush along with the line of NYX shadows, which are also excellent.

This is a terrific brush! It's just as good as my MAC 139 and for its inexpensive price ($6), it makes it even better. The bristles are short and the brush is wider than most brushes i've seen. It is perfect for base shadow or just applying eyeshadow in replace of a sponge applicator. It's so soft and thick and I would definitely repurchase! my friend has had hers for a long time so I doubt I'll even have to replace it.

Great shadow brush from NYX. short bristles, rounded top, great for applying base shadow. nice mid-length handle. Cost $4.99 at my local beauty supply
