Tudor City Teal <----RECOMMEND! I saw this color on some girls and I found it at my Walmart for .98 cents. This nail polish is pretty streaky and it takes a few coats but the best way to shake any polish is side ways, not up and down as usual. You can avoid bubbles that way, for a smoother finish :)

I only have one of these polishes in Big Apple Red, but it's one of my favorites. I believe I paid 97 cents for it at my local Walmart. It's really really nice quality for the price, no problems with streaking like I've read in some reviews, but it does seem to chip off easily if I don't top it with a clear coat a couple of times. It's not a thick formula so I do have to use 2-3 coats per nail, but that's not a big issue for me. I plan on buying more of these because I love the price, the colors, and I don't see too much of a difference between these and some of the more high end polishes I've tried.

For the price you pay (2$) this is amazing!!!
I love their colors and they stay on for a good 5-7 days!

NYC makes the best black nail polish I have ever used. It will take 2-4 coats but they dry super fast, and it will not chip, ever. You only have to remove it when regrowth becomes visible.

There's only a dollar or two, so you can't expect much out of these, but many of the colours are pretty good. I have probably over 15 of them (being a huge nail polish junkie). I don't think any of them could get by with just 1 coat, they all need 2-3 but once the coats are on the colours look creamy and shiny. I've never had a problem with them turning my nails yellow, but I would recommend a good base coat anyways because these nail polishes aren't supper long lasting. I usually get them at walmart as they are cheapest there, but they don't keep the colours stocked very well so it's hard to find specific colours some times. I think these polishes are perfect for people who like to change their nail colour often and like to try new colours. If I want a colour that I might use often (like a good nude colour or any essential colours) I buy a better quality brand.

The bad first. This is a thin and streaky formula. Goes on like watercolors. I got it to look passable in two coats (sandwiched between two clear coats of Sally Hansen - I once accidentally dyed my nails yellow by not using a basecoat. Never again.) You just have to squint and look sideways. I believe this is why all the NYC polishes are shimmery - to distract you from the streakyness.

Overall I'm still highly impressed with this $1 ($1!!) nailcolor. I usually hate to do my nails, but this dried before I could f-it up too bad.

The color I picked is a light silver-blue called "cashmere." I think it's quite pretty.

Unfortunately I have found these polishes to be very streaky. Just today I polished my toenails with the fuschia color. Not only does it look a mess because of the streakiness but the color clashes with my skin tone. It's pretty in the bottle though. It's not a bright fuschia it's much more mellow. But it streaks like crazy. I think NYC needs to update the formula of their long wearing polishes.

Last night I used Sally H. Hard as wraps acrylic base coat. 2 coats of NYC long wearing 140 Empire State Blue, 2 coats of NYC in a ny min. qd ($1.97)292 TriBeCa Silver on my tips. And Sally H. Diamond Flash Top coat. Today I've cleaned my stove, shower & washed dishes all without gloves and I HAVE NO CHIPS!! Use a good top coat & wrap your tips. The polishes all seem to be on the sheer/thin side but that's how I like mine. The 'In a NY minute' line does seem to be heavier in the pigment and has a great brush. This line retails for $2. For only $1-$2 for their nail products it's worth trying. If you pay attention to all the polishes in the store, NYC has lots of very close duplicates to much more expensive brands.

My first blue! And what a blue to start with. I got so many compliments when I had this on you might have thought it hadn’t cost me more than 2 bucks! Definitely a keeper.

I've used these for years, you can't go wrong for the price. Nice colors, relatively long lasting, decent quality. They are so inexpensive, and I would rather get multiple polishes for the price of one Essie polish. Also, New York Color is owned by Sally Hansen. I am a huge Sally Hansen fan as they are good quality drug store polishes, and these are very comparable for less as they are from the same company.

i think these are awesome! they are def a great affordable nail polish for girls/women like me that cant pull myself to pay $9 or more for a nail polish even though im sure Essie & OPI are prob great, i just cant do it bc i can get 8 diff polishes for the price of one of those. On to the NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel- they arent the longest wearing but better than say my LA Colors (even though i luv LA Colors nail polishes too, they are also $1) id say if you are a cleaner like myself where my hands were always in chemicals, they would start chipping after 3 days or before but now that i dont have to stick my hands in chemicals, i painted my nails the other day with the shade 110A which is a unique olive green with a yellow undertone- its so unique i have nothing like it & its day 3 & it hasnt chipped so it def last longer when u dont have chemicals eating them away but i have to say they have came out with more fall like colors which i picked up one today @ rite aid bc NY6C Cosmetics were 40% off so yea i paid like 60 cents for it but its in Shade 139 Plaza Plumberry which is seriously a gorgeous dark dark purpley eggplant color which is toned down enough to wear all year round- is prob gonna become my fall go to polish when i want something a little darker than creams or pearls.. so def check these polishes out, theres a few more i wanna pick up... im glad they started naming them bc before like the one i said above were only numbered for some reason i like a name to my products it seems more put together i like saying a name bc it tells u the color sometimes unlike a number...i know im weird.. so the price is great- less than $1, the longevity is good on its own but pair it w/ a great base coat & a great top coat im sure they will last pretty long meaning a week or more, NYC also is cruelty free company, and the formula is one of my favorites, its not watery nor too thick, the polish will go on opaque with 2 coats which i normally do w/ all polishes.. def opaque enough and the brush is thin & the bristles arent weird if you know what i mean. i like the formula & bristles.. ive bought an OPI polish & i like the NYC plishes alot more! even if you buy them for messing around or fun- i use them alot & own at least 9 different shades so i will continue to repurchase them over & over & ive bought my mom a brighter navy blue & she used up the whole bottle already- so she says the formula is great!

This polish is fairly decent for the price, but I will still pay the extra dollar or two for a better product. I tried the Big Apple Red, which is a very nice shade. However, after two coats it still looked kind of streaky, and it chipped within a few days.

I've got two of these in fairly bright pink and red shades, too bright for my fingers but they look great on my toes. I did need two coats, but didn't find the pigments too light as some reviewers did. Its wearing very well and looks great. Would certainly buy it again in other shades.

It's not very long wearing at all. It's not pigmented, either.
I like polishes that can be worn more sheer, as they're meant to be more versatile but this is not one of them.
I know it's a very inexpensive product but many cheap(er) brands tend to be of good quality...this is just purely CHEAP.
It applies terribly, watery and chips like crazy.

I've also known many people who have jars that went bad within a couple weeks. I've never had that issue but I know it's common.

Never, ever again.

Love these, I have many of them.. I will agree with some other reviewers that some of the shades could use more pigmentation but still for a dollor or less you can't go wrong, just add a second coat =)

Am I the only one who doesn't like these? The brush is flimsy, the pigmentation is horrifying. The creams were far from opaque and steak overload. Thought it was hard to believe for this to be good while only being one buck. I'm not a brand snob, I've tried some amazing cheap products but this is terrible.

ok for ONE DOLLAR?? this stuff is great!! i just bought it in Big Apple Red, and it looks gorgeous!!! the color is so bright and it's not too thin!! it looks like OPI is on my nails, not a one dollar nail polish.

These are a quite the guilty pleasure for me. They are great for pedicures. The wear is okay considering you get what you pay for. They take forever to dry but the colors are cute. I love the yellow taxi cab one. The glitter is a must. Highly recommended for children and women who need a cheap pick me up.

I havent tried the colors of this product but I do have the extra shiny top coat and it is awful! I tried this over another brand nailpolish and it chiped the same day! I thought it was just the other nail polish so I tried it all by itself today, I put on 2 coats and after an HOUR of it drying most of my nails were half chiped off. I HATE this product and I am going to throw this bottle away right now. Dont waste 99 cents on this product and use that money on something that doesnt work.
