Ive tried every single lush fresh mask out there, stored them in fridge, used them exactly as im supposed to, thrown them out when supposed to, but i have an allergic reaction to every single one, every single time, i just cannot use them, theres something in them that dosent agree with my sensitive skin :( does anyone else get this with the lush face masks at all? Definately wouldnt recommend for those with sensitive skin.

This is one of my favorite facial masks. Ever. I have tried many. And two from LUSH. This leaves my skin feeling SO soft and clean. After I use it I can't even bring myself to put makeup on, my skin feels so nice. It has a nice scent, too, to me. Not to strong, kind of earthy and natural. Would definitely repurchase.

Clearly under-rated and among one of the best masks I've used by LUSH. This one has a smooth, creamy texture and leaves your skin feeling ultra-soft. When I refer to ultra-soft I mean like that of a baby's. The scent is also bearable but the effect on my skin far outweighs the con involving the masks scent. Highly recommended.

This was my first fresh mask from lush and I was so excited. The employer was really helpful and she said that it works as an antioxidant so I decided to give it a go. The scent of this mask is really strong and I personally hate it. It's very overpowering and it stays on your skin long after you put the mask on your face. Despite the scent, I quite like it. It really gives my skin everything it should have and the skin felt really soft after the mask. I won't rebuy it just because of the scent but it was an ok mask.

I HG the Love lettuce mask but felt that i needed an additional mask for the in between days, this was perfect, it doesnt irritate my skin or excessivly dry it out, just firms it up and gets rid of any oilyness i may have, its nice to use before going out for the evening and it really freshens up my skin and makes my makeup go on smoothly. good mask for the £ as well, plus it doesnt smell sickly which is why ive been put off by a few of the others.

I think this product really dried out areas on my face that were susceptible to dryness to the point of flaking. On the rest of my face I didn't notice any real difference.

I love LUSH face masks! They're really effective; I can always see a difference after just one use, and I've tried almost all of them. I store mine in the freezer and just defrost in the fridge the night before I'm ready to use them so they don't expire so fast. My favorite was Crash Course in Skincare so I was super bummed when they discontinued it. The Sacred Truth is similar enough that it's become my replacement, however. It has the same cooling feel and buttery texture because it also has avocados and yogurt in it. It also smells very fresh and grassy; a little less citrusy than Crash Course but still very nice. After a really long, tiring day this is really relaxing and refreshing and picks my complexion right up!

I love this mask and the ingredients rock!! - green tea, wheatgrass, ginseng. Great value for all these ingredients. It really leaves your face smooth and fresh-looking - I guess it's the enzymes in the papaya too. The texture is great too- very creamy and spreadable. And the smell is so refreshingly 'grassy' and pleasant.

A definite repurchase, and you do get alot of use out of one pot - in fact I think most times you will not be able to finish the entire pot before the expiry date. However, I ignore that, since it's always kept in the fridge, so will use it for about a month.

I adore this its my treat, when my skin is feeling parched, or about to have a break out or im feeling tired and grubby this is wonderful, I tend to leave it on and let it really dry then rub it off in circular motions like a gommage so you get a brilliant gentle exfoliation rather than dissolving it. Try it its lovely just a bit messy.

I have sensitive red, dry yet bumpy skin. Although this mask was meant for older skin, being 27 I figured I would give it a try. However, this mask ( my first Lush mask!) dried my skin out and made it feel tight. I guess it does the job of tightening the face, but being that it is winter and my face is already relatively dry, it isn't something I would buy again. Hoping my next Lush Mask is better suited to me.
Edited to add- The second time I used this, it broke me out so bad and gave me WELTS. This is the worst stuff I have ever put on my face. I am a LUSH devotee, but I am questioning all thier skincare now.

Lush's Fresh Face Mask in The Sacred Truth is a mask containing wheat grass, green tea, and ginseng, all of which are loaded with anti-oxidants. The mask also contains papaya, so its moisturizing as well. The Lush employee I spoke to was incredibly helpful. She said this mask is best for anti-aging, as the antioxidants in the mask restore collagen. Anti-aging skin care isn't exactly something I'm in the market for, but I'll give it a try anyway.I was given my 2.1 oz (60g) jar for free, as a sample, because its past it's selling point, but not bad yet. Lush's Fresh Face Masks retail for between 6 and 8 dollars.
Fresh Face Masks come in a small black, plastic jar, which is recyclable. Lush has a program where if you bring back 5 of their black jars, you get a free mask. That's pretty epic. The packaging isn't anything to look at, its just straight up functional packaging.
The Sacred Truth is green. It has a generally smooth texture, with a bit of chunkiness to it for exfoliation. It feels butter in the jar and on the skin. It's pretty pleasant to wear.
As far as scent goes, The Sacred Truth is pretty strong. I can mostly smell wheat grass with a bit of green tea. I can't decide if I like the smell or not. I'm leaning towards not. It lingers for a long time. It makes my rabbit seriously angry. He tried to bite me not long after I rinsed it off. The smell is so strong, it permeates the jar, leaving my whole fridge smelling of the Sacred Truth. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
For a more in depth explanation on what a fresh face mask is, Lush makes these masks in Canada and ships them to their locations. They're made of fresh ingredients, usually foods even. They're preservative free, so they only have a three week or so shelf life. They're kept refrigerated in store, and should be at home as well.
Lush recommends leaving the mask on for 5 to 10 minutes. For me it starts to get itchy around 8 minutes. When dry, the mask bunches up in places and looks scaly in others. Its pretty gross looking. Removing the mask is kind of a pain. You need to use a scraping motion with your nails to get it all off. Do be careful when removing the mask, as its pretty thick, so it could clog your drain.
The difficulty of removal is worth the end product. Extremely smooth skin that feels like its had all its elasticity restored. My skin has a fun, bouncy feel to it but also feels very firm. It's kinda amazing. I know what I'll be using when I'm old.
Lush's The Sacred Truth would be an excellent mask for someone with mature skin or for someone looking to give their skin a little more life. Like all Lush products, its also great for anyone interested in natural, mostly vegan skin care. The Sacred Truth has definitely gotten me interested in trying more of Lush's Fresh Face Masks. I really want to thank the excellent employees of Lush at Macy's in down town Pittsburgh.

Results are soft moisturized skin and mild cleansing effect. Didn't help with pimples. Prefer Brazened Honey because it clears away breakouts, brightens, and although it is a bit drying, it has a more long lasting effect.

Hey Girls ( and maybe guys),

Ive tried all the fresh face masks and this is def my fav! I'm not in the "mature skin" range yet, but it works great for me. I do notice that it works MUCH better if you use the serum bar underneath. I've been using a few drops of argan oil underneath..let it stay on for like 30 minutes. My skin feels amazing afterwards but the real treat is how glowy and soft my skin is in the morning ( I always do the mask at night) absolutely glowing, smooth, moisturized skin. I didnt give it a 5 only b/c im not sure it does anything for acne, I usually have bump here or there and i dont feel as though it affects them in anyway. I like rotate this mask and brazened honey or love lettuce. I typically do a mask every night since i can never buy just one and they expire pretty quick ( obsessed with lush <------- me) Bottom line....the best mask....kick it up a notch by using the serum bar ( careful not to use too much) or some 100% aragan oil and you will be really surprised how amazing your skin looks and feels when you wake up. ( I use josie maran aragan oil )

it's really nice. pretty good at moisturizing but not too oily, never cause outbreak, really good for teenagers. ingredients include green tea, which's a good antioxidant and enzyme in papaya also does good to skin. also, it feels so fresh and cool once it's put on ur face. still, do maximum the time to 10 mins hving ur mask on coz it'll go too dry and is hard to wash off. the crunchy almonds make the mask a bit difficult to spread. yet, overall, the product's fair and i'll definitely buy it again :D

This is a solid product but not a miracle worker. I tend to leave this on for around 30 minutes instead of the recommended 10 to 15. It's not as moisturising as I expected but it does leave my skin comforted and smooth with a velvety matte finish.

I know I've raved about LUSH UK's customer service, and this is yet another anecdote to back up my love. LUSH UK has their recycling policy where you bring in 5 empty black pots and get a Fresh Face Mask for free, so when I went to Scotland this summer, I took my empties with me. Sacred Truth was the one I really wanted to get, but LUSH Edinburgh was all out of everything but Brazen Honey. The SA very apologetically said that she would be happy to make a sample of any Fresh Face Mask for me, so I told her Sacred Truth was the one I wanted. Lo and behold, the "sample" she gave me contains just as much as a full-size product! So I've now used this mask five times and I still have enough for at least two more applications.

On to the product itself: Sacred Truth contains many wonderful ingredients, including papaya, eggs, kaolin clay, ginseng and green tea. It smells so green and beautiful. It's meant for mature skin, but it works really well on my oily skin. I usually apply once a week, leave it on for thirty minutes, and then rinse off with warm water, and am left with glowing, soft skin. I'm a big fan of LUSH Fresh Face Masks, and this is no exception. Make sure to keep them in your refrigerator while in use, and in your freezer to keep them fresh before you get to them!

this is my second fresh mask from lush. I was given it as part of their recycling plan (you bring in 5 black tubs and you get a free fresh mask). It's retail price is 8.50euros here in italy.
Pros: lovely smooth consistency, gives soft skin, absolutely stunning glow, application when straight out of the fridge is lovely and soothing.last many applications, you really don't need as much as they tell you to apply.
Cons: not terribly deep cleansing, i use it on my cheeks but need to use mask of magnaminty for my clogged-pore prone t-zone.Expires in three weeks.

All in all like this product and would probably have it again, but I'd rather get it for free with the recycling programme.

Smell is decent. It does leave my face feeling smooth and moisturized after using. There is no dry feeling like other masks. That being said, I don't know that it does anything as far as the appearance of skin. I haven't noticed a difference.

This is the second mask I tried from Lush, the first was brazened honey which was fine but nothing spectacular. I love this mask, it makes my skin glow after I use it and I can't really say that for many products. I've only used it three times so far so I'm not a long-time user of this. I've been using this mask every other day. It doesn't dry my skin out afterwards, it just makes it feel smooth and soft and look radiant like another user said, no tight feeling at all.

This mask is green so it makes you look like a witch and it smells herbal. I don't like the chunks of papaya(??) it has in it that makes the application a little bumpy and you end up with little chunks all over your face.

The application process is like any other mask, you smooth it over your face (be generous since these Lush masks don't have a long shelf life anyhow) avoiding your eye area and wait 10 minutes and remove. I like to remove with a damp paper towel and just repeatedly rub off parts of the mask (rinse after each section of face rubbed) and finish with rinsing out the paper towel, getting it warm with hot water, putting it over my face and slowly rubbing my face with it to remove any excess. Sorry for that ridiculously long run-on sentence. I usually do the face rub process at the end about 4 times just to make sure everything's gone and because it just feels nice! Sometimes I'll use a face brush for exfoliation when I'm taking off the mask but be careful with that because if you're too aggressive you'll spray mask everywhere! You can also use a damp microfiber towel as well, which I sometimes use. I don't like rinsing with just water because I find that it's just too messy and stuff gets everywhere.

I couldn't imagine leaving this on longer than the recommended 10 minutes though. I know some have said they leave it on for 30, I find that by 10 minutes my mask has dried on my face and any facial movement I make causes the mask to crack off in little pieces and fall around me.

Definitely recommend at least trying this mask out. Keep in the fridge!
