I received this as a sample w/purchase. It came with their mascara. I used both and it left a very nice, defined day-time look. The more I used this, the more I like it. With their False Eyelash mascara, it really gives a plush, defined look. Too bad Px is going out of business!!!!!

Hmmm, it's okay at best when used in conjunction with the prescriptives false eyelashes mascara. I was looking in my makeup trunk, yes i have a makeup trunk, for my shisedo mascara base and couldn't find it and went out bc i wasn't near bloomingdales to get another shisedo base and got this at macy's since it's closer to my house. Needless to say this product is by no means a must have, however it is is better than mac's prep and prime lash but not even close to shisedo's. It is a white formula and it did an okay job but as soon as i found my shisedo base that was somehow in my son's hamper, i decided i wouldn't return it but keep this for emergency purposes only bc it's not terrible and when it's done, that will be it.

Honestly this is not a product that is really needed if your have a good mascara. I am always looking for bigger and more dramatic lashes so I am always an easy sale when it comes to such stuff. I bought the lash envy mascara from Prescriptives and ended up coming home with this also. The Lash Envy mascara is so great that you do not need this. While I could see a bit of thickening it was not so dramatic that this is worth spending money on. Also, the tiny little fibers which I guess are suppose to thicken the lasches feel into my eyes as the day went on. More annoying and irritating that anything else.
I will not buy this again.

My eyelashes are naturally long and curly, so my concern has always been volumizing. However, I was at the Prescriptives counter and the lady convinced me to get this stuff in order to keep my lashes looking good. At first, I wasn't too impressed with this stuff. Some days it would make my mascara work really well and other times, not so much. However, I've recently discovered that if you put it on your lashes at night and let it soak in while you sleep, your mascara goes on really nice when you're doing your make up in the morning.

Ehh, its okay. Personally, I prefer using what I've been using for years on my lashes...baby powder. I sprinkle a pinch in the palm of my hand, take my finger and lightly swipe it on my lashes. Then I sweep on my mascara. It thickens without clumping and keeps my mascara from flaking during the day. Just to make sure I wasn't imagining things, I used the prescriptives lash primer on one set of lashes, baby powder on the other...in the end, the prescriptives lash primer didn't give any notible lengthening or thickening effect, while the baby powder treated eyelashes were. My advice would be to save your money and skip out on this product!

it doesnt clump. It is conditioning and it holds my curls. it works! Cons: it can be quite wet, wait a little bit before putting on the mascara.

This basecoat wasn't so bad. Nothing really special, though, either. I would say it's better than the Prescriptives mascara, though. I think Origins basecoat might be better. Lancome is probably the best.

This product actually made my lashes look shorter and caused my mascara to clump no matter how little I applied. I used it under several mascaras including my beloved Lash Envy and it was the same thing every time. I get a much better result without this primer!

i have been using this for a while and i realized i haven't written a review for it yet! anyway, i love this! i have very thin not so full eyelashes and when i apply this, they make my eyelashes look so much better. i don't like the mascara i bought with it but i layer it with my other mascaras like bad gal. such a huge difference! separates, thickens, and keeps the curl!

I have tried several of the fiber mascara bases and hated them with a passion. I was introduced to the Lash Builder Basecoat at the Prescriptives counter and wound up buying it...even though I typically haven't had much luck in the basecoat mascara stuff. Well...I LOVE this! It's a white cream formula that is lightly applied to my lashes before mascara application. I have always had trouble with my lashes keeping their curl even after I curl them. With this amazing stuff, I don't even need to curl them because something about it curls my lashes in a major way. It gives extra volume and some extra length too, but it's the curl I'm getting with this that is amazing!! It hasn't clumped my mascara either. I will repurchase.

I do NOT like it at all!
I gave it 2 because the only OK thing it did, was that my non mascara didn't smear.
I think is expensive, because It's not a great product. I mean for $16???
I hate the packaging, it looks so cheap.
I aboslutely will not buy this, because it put my lashes down , I curled them they were very nice looking, and as soon as i put this "basecoat" my lashes were all flat and ugly..

I love this product! I got a sample size, and I love it. It just looks like a white mascara, but it provides a nice base to help plump my lashes. I like wearing it under clinique high impact for really fat lashes..I wear it under CG lash exact for thick, long lashes. This product really adds "oomph!" to any of your mascaras.

I have a sample size of this , and i found it brilliant. It came with a sample size of Px beyond long mascara. And with a bit of fluidline i have the perfect lash line. The Builder really does make a difference, it holds the fibres on all day, and lenghtens extremly. And when i use it in conjuction with Px Beyond long mascara, i get goregoues endless, blackess lashes. Thick, Long, Seperated and they last all day. I really do this the primer is the major factor in all the benefits i get. Although having said that, its the only quiality brand lash primer ive used to far. Birlliant!

I got a GWP of this. I had to use it since I ran out of my shiseido. It worked okay for the first few days, but then afterwards, it didn't work as well. It did an okay job, but doesnt hold a candle to shiseidos IMO.

I received this as a GWP so I can't speak to the price, but I am pleased that it's solved a problem of mine: my HG mascara is Blinc Kiss Me Tube mascara, which never smudges, comes off easily, lasts & lasts. Only problem? It's fine for lengthening but does jack crack for volume. This Lash Builder really does help build the volume and doesn't change the effectiveness of the Kiss Me--except it does seem to take my curl out a bit. I'll see if I can fix this and update the review if I find a solution.

Ugh - I can't believe I wasted my $ on this. In fact, I'm going to take this back to the store. My mascara (False Eyelashes) goes on MUCH better WITHOUT this Lash Builder stuff. The Lash Builder seemed to stick my eyelashes together. Horrible, horrible, horrible!

Ok i have used many primers, with fibers, without and they are all pretty much the same. I don't think a higher price tag or a name makes one really that much better than others.
I use my primers under my WP mascaras to condition my lashes. Saying this this primer isn't bad. the price isn't too high and it does it's job. like other primers makes my lashes a bit thicker for my mascara. I'd buy again.

I tend to think that all these mascara basecoats are very similiar. I find this similiar to the Clinique one as well as the Smashbox Layer Mascara primer. PRetty standard product. Does help to thinken my sparse lashes slightly but not a huge amount of difference. No clumping either. This is supposed to be conditioning for the lashes but i dont really notice any difference. Retails for $15.50 for .17 fl oz. If you like a basecoat, this one works as well as any of the others out there on the market.

The advantage to this basecoat is that after using it, my normally clumpy mascara gave me clump-free lashes for the first time ever. Normally, I have to comb and comb my lashes to get the clumps out. The bad part is...my mascara smeared under my eyes for the first time ever. Clump free does not trump mascara smudges. Will not repurchase.
