My sister got this quad to do her makeup for prom. and i absolutely loved the way the MAC employees did my sister's eyes. She still has this quad today (too bad the purple eyeshadow got smashed in). I love the colors; maybe I'll find a dupe for the purple shade and wear this myself :)

this quad is so nice! the only reason why i take off one lippie is that the color combo might be a bit too girlie/ teeny but that aside, it's really great.
Almond icing- reminds me of vex so much (without the green though). great texture and nice pink sheen.
gateaux- is a pearly pink, very true. no orange, peach or mauve. a very classic pink with amazing pale shimmer, not glitter or anything obvious.
sugar blue- while it isnt bad, it doesnt have the best texture. it has silver glitter which kinda falls off and the blue itself isnt the most lasting. if you pack it on over a nice base the blue has hope but the glitter...blah.
demi- a purpley mauve with a great texture and finish. i am not the biggest mauve fan, but this one is very bearable for me which is why i like it. it's more plummy than mauve.

The colors in this quad really come to life on my pinky-pale skin. The colors all complement each other very well, especially with the finishes. There seems to be some confusion about the names and finishes in this quad so here is a list and explanation from top left and continuing clockwise. Almond Icing- a frost finish. It is a beautiful opalescent though it looks like dirt in the pan, it reflects blue and pink depending on the light. Also it manly shows up as pink on my skin but that doesn't detract from it's unique beauty. I like to layer it on top of other shadows and the effect is gorgeous. Gateaux which is also a frost. It is pretty frosty without being glittery. Very wearable for day time but not unique. the next color is Sugar Blue, a Veluxe finish which I had never tried before. It is very pigmented light to mid tone blue with blue and white micro sparkles. I think between Sugar blue and Gateaux one needs to be careful not to let the colors look dated and 80's-esque. It applies wonderfully and it has to be my second favorite after almond icing. The last color is Demi-Sweet, a Satin finish. This one is an average mid-tone purple but the blue micro sparkles in it make it very lovely next to Sugar Blue. Overall, I love this quad but I find I want them to be less pigmented when I place them on my lids so I blend them enough to lose some of the color. It ends up looking much more polished and lest costume-y that way. If you are looking at getting depots or wondering about what the best colors are in this quad, I would suggest Almond Icing as a must have. Also I would suggest having both Sugar Blue and Demi-Sweet simply because they belong together.Gateaux is dupe-able and can be skipped. Overall, I love this quad and would repurchase. I subtracted one lippie simply because it isn't simply the single best. I save my 5 lippie reviews for extraordinary products.

I think this quad is really nice for the spring. I'm not really sure why I swapped for this but I don't regret it. Though it might not seem really special and sort of prom-like from a glance, the colors work well together. I typically don't like pastel shades but these shades have a lot of potential being in the palm of my hands, it doesn't necessarily have to be super light and girly. Almond Icing, Sugar Blue, Demi-Sweet are very nicely paired. I generally like a more darker look which still can be achieved with this using specifically Sugar Blue and Demi-Sweet. Almond Icing is actually a really unique shade. I pick it up a lot and pair it with other pinkish looks. Initially I thought it was similar to Vex too but I agree with the review below it's not the same. Similar yes but this is much more red tone and warmer, friendlier to use. Otherwise the last shade Gateaux is alright. It's a bit too frosty for my taste but use minimally and it works fine as a highlight or lower lash line. Even on my NC15 complexion, Gateaux is such a frosty pink it looks nearly white!

I really only swapped for this quad because it's MAC- looking at pictures of it, I didn't think I'd like it much. I actually got it at the same time as Corps de Couleur, a MAJOR lemming of mine. I was shocked when I got them both...Sweetie Cakes blew CdC out of the water! It's way more pigmented and the colors are just so pretty! A lot of other reviewers said that these are 80's prom colors, and I can see where they're coming from- I mean they are pastels- but I still love them and don't feel dated at all when I wear them, even all together.
The real standout for me is Almond Icing, an irridescent off-white that looks blue-ish in some light. I wear it as a wash, highlight, in the corners of my eyes, etc. I love all three of the other colors too- they're all fresh and pretty without being over the top.
Overall, this is my favorite MAC quad so far.

Found this quad at my local CCO. Overall the quad is average for me....Gateaux (frosty cotton candy pink) and Sugar Blue (a dirty robin's egg blue with a chalky but manageable texture) are *truly* prom night colors...a bit too youthful for me I guess! =) Anyway, the standouts for me are Demi-Sweet and Almond Icing. Demi-sweet is a really unique dirty bluey purple, not my favorite purple but one that I reach for occasionally. However, Almond Icing is AMAZING! (the whole reason I wanted to write this review!) Its a neutral greyish beige with a slight pinky red duochrome. I use it as a highlighter and it looks great paired with any purple or pink shadow. I wear those colors often, so I find myself reaching for Almond Icing over Shroom and Dazzlelight!

As pretty as the colors looked in the pan, I could not get them to show up well on my skin. I'm uber pale and have tons of other MAC eyeshadows and just couldn't get this quad to work for me. I returned it.

I thought this was a cute collection. Soft, but colorful shades...sweet and candy inspired. The quad looks pretty, but is also lacking versatality. This is not something I wear often, but still love it. Almond Icing is a nice highlighter/wash. It's not like Pink Opal, Vex, Seedy Pearl, or Sea Meath! STOP SAYING THOSE ARE SOO SIMILAR! Similar in the sense, yes, that they are neutral with some sort of reflect of pink, but they are truly very different on, so sick of hearing they are exactly the same! Almond Icing is soft almond color with pink/red. Pink Opal is whitish pink reflective, Vex is kind of a greyish beige with green and pink, Seedy Pearl is lavendar pink with pinkish sparkle, and Sea Myth is like whiteish greenish pinkish. Almond Icing really works with the other colors in the quad. Gateaux is a pale, cotton candy frosted pink. Demi-Sweet is a dirty purple with blue reflects, soo pretty. One of my favorite purples. Sugar Blue is a dirty aqua with pink sparkle. Really lovely...don't have a shadow that is similar. I wish Demi Sweet and Sugar Blue were sold seperately! I have no problem applying any of these shadows. They are soft, but still colorful.

i was lucky enough to swap for this and get a backup at the CCO for $24. i was worried at first by the reviews that it might not have enough pigmentation. but thankfully it showed perfectly on my lids. love the purple shadow. it just brightens up my deep dark brown eyes. and i really like the 2 highlighter colors. only color i don't really use is the blue color. blue just doesn't look too great on me so wish it was a deeper plum instead but oh well. still one of my favorite quads.

All in all not bad. The colours are lovely. This is my first bunch of MAC eyeshadows and I was pleasantly surprised. I heard that their quality of shadow wasnt that great, but these are the most pigmented eyeshadows I own. The others I have are from the D/S, but on the boards they say that the quality is sometimes not even as good as drugstore brands. Anyway, I am happy with this. The colours look very nice together.

This quad is nice but definitely a bit hard to pull off. Almond Icing is just like Vex but slightly more pink. Gorgeousss. I can't stress how much I love this shade. Then there's Gateaux, which is another frosty light pink. Nothing too special but it's pretty. Too bad pinks look quite horrid on me. Sugar Blue is a velvet. It's a bit chalky but the shade it's a pretty blue, you just have to blend it in till you get the finish you want. Demi-Sweet is a satin, hot pink-purple that will look good on cool toned girls, but definitely not on me. I reckon this is not a quad I'll be using much but it's nice to have just for Almond Icing and Sugar Blue! Can't wait summer to come to wear those again!

The Sweetie Cake Quad is a premade quad that contains the following:
Almond Icing (FROST) - This color is a neutral tone that flashes pink. Most similar to Vex or Sea Myth. I really like this color as a highlighter, and it seems slightly different from the others; still, nothing too special.
Gateaux (FROST) - This color is a shimmery, light/medium pink. I'd say it's similar to a cotton candy type of pink.
Demi-Sweet (SATIN) - This is kind of a dirty purple w/bluish reflects. I really like this color a lot.
Sugar Blue (VELVET) - A very pretty, yet dirty aqua blue with pink sparkle.
Some have complained that the texture of Demi-Sweet and Sugar Blue are hard to work with, but I haven't had that problem with them. I think they applied fairly well. They are more muted, but still colorful shadows.
I like this quad, but it's nothing spectacular. I like it overall, but don't think I would repurchase again simply because I don't find it to be versatile enough.

This palette is alot nicer then I thought it would be given the mixed reviews it's gotten both on the board and in Productsville. And while I don't know how often I'll actually use it,I definitely think everyone should atleast check it out ..Colors consist of Almond Icing(F) which is a pale grey that flashes pink..most like Vex but without the green,Gateaux(F)which is just your basic pale, run of the mill pink,Sugar Blue(V) is a matte, muted Aqua that has barely visible aqua& pink shimmers.the texture of Sugar Blue is somewhat chalky but if you use it just to line with,it's very pretty& easy to use..Wouldn't recommend trying to put this all over your lid if you're worried about looking crepey..And finally,Demi-Sweet(S)which is a deep purple with just the sligtest violet blue sheen to it..Sadly the violet blue sheen is not really noticeable when applied but still a pretty shadow..All the shadows are very well pigmented(chalky or not)Not sure it's worth it's $35 price tag being that I only like 3 of the shadows

I just bought this via eBay, because I waited too long to get it at the counter. I got lucky and actually paid less for it than counter retail! Hence the low price rating.
I've worn these colors several times now, and while I must say they are very bright, they are very wearable for day and very pretty! I was trying to dupe the quad before I decided to buy it, and got very close I think, but I'm so glad I bought the real McCoy:
Almond Icing is very similar to Seedy Pearl, in that is is an unusual duo-chrome pink. However, while seedy pearl is very pink, Almond Icing has alot of grey-beige to the base with a candy pink flash. I used Milani Sheer Sand to dupe it. Gateaux is a lovely frosted pink with a bit of lavender to it, kind of a run-of-the-mill, easy to find shade. It's almost identical to Milani Taffy, just a bit lighter and more pink. Sugar Blue is probably the most unique shade of the quad, being a light, bright turqoise with pink shimmer in it. Prose and Fancy makes a great stand in if you don't mind the lack of pink, though honestly you wouldn't miss it unless on close inspection. My favorite shade of the lot is Demi-Sweet, a deeper dou-chrome plum shade with an elegant blue flash. I have two colors similar to it (Max Factor Plum Performance, and Lilac Smash from Avon's Lilac Dream quad) but neither comes close to the depth of color, pigmentation, or contrast from the flash. Truly a gorgeous color, and well worth getting the quad for if you like interesting colors.
The texture of all four shadows is excellent, and over my usual L'Oreal De-Crease base looked freshly applied nearly twelve hours later when I got home from work and washed my face. There's little to no fallout during application, and layering wasn't an issue. I have noticed a few of MAC's darker colors can be a little hard to layer onto other colors, especially over base, but I haven't found that yet with these.
I say I'd buy them again, because I would if the need arises, but given the size of my shadow collection and how often I change up my color rotation, I likely won't need to for quite some time. If these become the favorites I think they might, though, then I'd be inclined to purchase a back-up. We shall see. . .

I absolutely love Sweetie Cakes! It's probably my favourite quad. All of the colours look great together..they're very soft and girly. I always get compliments when I wear these shadows. Too bad it's LE..I wish I had a backup!

Unfortunately this is a LE palette, I love the shades, and they work well together, The pastel pink is very nice with not as much shimmer as one might think, it looks very nice when paired with pleasure purrr shadow.

The first time I saw this IRL I passed. After a while..I regretted it. So when I went to MAC again I bought it. Its true - the blue one feels chalky, but it is GORGEOUS on. The purple and light pink one are amazing together. The white-ish one is a beautiful hilight. They are all unique and gorgous IMO. Good thing I bought this.

Part of the Sweetie Cakes collection released April 2006. Of courese its limited edition and retails for $35. I thought this looked spectacular before i actually saw it in person. Its a little sheer on and the colors look like alot of others out there. Not a must have but nice for collectors like me.
Inside you get: Almond Icing (frost), a pinkish shade that flashes different shades that has a greyish green cast to it but basically light pinky beige.
Gateaux (frost) light shimmery pink. Standard shade. Sugar Blue (velvet) a soft blue aqua color. Not a vibrant aqua, but much more muted. Demi-Sweet (satin) shimmery light violet. If you use a stiff brush, you can get enough color for the crease.
Overall, the shades dont have as much pigment as they could. I used a stiff dense brush though and managed to pick up enough color. I also dont really like the Sugar Blue and Demi Sweet together. Too much color going on. Overall, this quad is just ok.

I was a little unsure about this quad and this being my first one ever from Mac I was a bit worried. I am not a girl who likes to wear blue eyeshadow but this color was gorgeous on me. I am a NW15. It went well with the other colors on the quad as well. I was very impressed. They bleneded perfectly together and had terrific staying power. The colors really reflected the name "Sweetie Cake". The colors are all so pretty! I am so glad I gave this one a try.

I was extremely excited about the release of this quad, but sadly it fell short of expectations. I agree with the other reviewer that have stated Sugar Blue looks so pretty and unique with this downplayed turquoise color and pretty pink sparkles – but in reality it applies really chalky and the sparkles don’t even show up. It does help to use a sponge-tipped applicator or a stiff synthetic brush as I did, but I was not a fan of this Velvet formula eyeshadow. Demi-Sweet is actually of pretty decent quality – a cute purple with blue iridescence and it applies really smoothly, but nothing about this color really stood out to me. Almond Icing is gorgeous! Reminds me of Vex but more pink, but it doesn’t quite make up for Sugar Blue sucking! Gateux looks like Pink Freeze to me, yawn. I guess I should’ve known better since I’m not a fan of pastels, but I thought I could make this quad work wonders! I guess it would be wonderful for a MAC novice, but I don’t really care too much for the looks achieved through this quad so I think it's going up for swap. Watch me regret it, heh, but this is one of the weakest quads from MAC in my opinion.
