Deep red is quite pleasing. There are not too many perfumes that strike a neat balance between young - playful - flirty - fruity with some edge and character. I'd rather call it an introduction to orientals than a fruity floral, actually.
Starts with an intense blast of fruits (mostly clementine, mandarin, blood orange and blackcurrant) which are very delicious. I often find fruity notes hard not to end up into something generic and here they don't.
Then I get the exotic kick of ginger and at last it develops in a playful mix of juicy fruits, mildly spicy ginger, the lovely sandalwood and not too sweet grown up vanilla.
The flowers are not really noticeable to me but judging by the notes I find the idea of combining the dramatic tuberose with the delicate freesia and the salty hibiscus quite unusual.
This perfume unfolds as time goes by and every stage is more interesting than the previous. It certainly evokes the feeling of warmth and inner tension, has good longevity and silage is nearly perfect: neither nuclear strength nor close to the skin.
I wouldn't call it sophisticated but for a fun night out with girlfriends it would be a perfect match.

An all-time favourite, I first bought Deep Red when I was 16, I’m 22 now and always re-purchase when I run out! It’s dark and sexy, I would describe it as a ‘fruity-floral’ with some woody tones. Again it’s a really strong, long-lasting fragrance, on me it smells sweet and musky, with a hint of spice. It’s meant to be more of an evening fragrance, but I really enjoy 1-2 spritz of it on my skin in the mornings, such a feminine and sensual fragrance.

My first EVER perfume that I classed as my signature scent, and I was 16! Holds a sentimental value as my nana bought me the giftset for Xmas, but died on the 23rd Dec so never got the chance to give it me. Will always remind me of her! LOVE IT!

I have my bottle of EDP for more than 13 years now as a gift from my father, but it was too mature for my taste when I received it. So it stood neglected, packed away, forgotten, until I discovered it in a move... how could I ever not love this?
Its sweet, cute, yummy, playful-sexy and mature at the same time. I can smell gardenia more clearly than in my Crystal Noir, but it blends more beautifully here and it is not overpowering. So sweet.
I wear it mostly on winter and usually when I go out. I do not want to smell so sexy when I am in the office...
The bottle is also beautiful, frosted red glass with some transparency and a firmly clicking silver top. Classy and beautiful.
It is not one of my signature perfumes but I would definitely wish to buy again.
Also, as I said I have it for more than 13 years. It still smells the same (I tried it last year in a store). I do not know about perfumes, do they all last that long? It certainly says a lot to me about its quality.

This is my favorite Hugo Boss fragrance for women. It is very sexy and sensual. It has a definite vanilla vibe to it with fresh ginger, that gives it a nice kick. In a way it reminds me a bit of Dior's Hypnotic Poison only a bit fruitier than that one.

wore this almost a decade ago - guy i was dating at the time loved it but i never really got into it. it smelled almost too sickly for my tastes (in my late teens / early 20s mind you) - this scent dominates with very sweet notes throughout all phases.
last year, at a club night, i ran across a woman that was wearing this and recognized the scent right away (so it's definitely memorable, despite personal feelings on the fragrance itself.) it also smelled so much better on her.
if you can carry off sweet scents with slight aquatic notes then this is worth a try. a bit young and too feminine / linear for my tastes, but i have seen first hand how this particular fragrance can, and indeed does draw attention from the opposite sex. i also now appreciate how well this fragrance can really open up on someone's skin after smelling it on homegirl in the club.
a good introductory fragrance for young women not interested in florals or clean scents.

Oh dear, I hate not liking a perfume. Usually I like most.
This one, I bought online because of all the great reviews (generally I agree with MUA) and it seemed like my kind of perfume - heavy without being overpowering. But I just can't stand it. It honestly smells like (my friend's words but I agree) a cheap cologne. Very similar to Neroli Jasmine by the Body Shop - which is cheaper and nicer and I actually use as an air spray sometimes. I've worn it 5 times since I got it, so I've given it a chance, worn in on my body and clothes (smells the same) and I just really don't find anything I like about it. However, I will say that for the people who have given this perfume 5 stars, I envy you, because I'm sure you must have some kind of body chemistry that turns this into perfection, because the notes you describe just smell nothing like the bottle I have :(. Maybe I got an expired bottle? (Bought from Strawberrynet if anyone is interested) It could just be one of those that I'm not meant to like (ie Angel which I'm still hoping I'll suddenly adore!). Still give it a spray, you might really like it, everyone is different :) but I'll be sticking with my Armani Code, Addict, Hypnose.

This is one of my signature scents.Whenever one of my friends smells this perfume, he/she always connects it to me!
I have been wearing this scent for the past 8 years, and i love love love it!
It is on the heavy side, but again, its just a great perfume!
I always get complements by men, that say my perfume is amazing..the two words characterizing it: SEXY and ALLURING.
unfortunately, fans of this perfume, STOCK UP!It has been discontinued!:(

I looove this scent. It is perfect for night time or winter. BTW, I was in perfumania this afternoon and got to try Gale Gayman's So Delicious....it is a perfect dupe for Deep Red :)

This fragrance is really sexy. I don't have many opportunities to wear it because it's mature and rich-smelling, and that kind of thing doesn't really go with most of the places I go!
Deep Red succeeds in having class at the same time as subtlety-- something that the majority of fragrances I've tried have failed to do. Though I don't rely on this perfume as a crowd pleaser like some others I have are, I've gotten good feedback about it and it is beautiful in a kind of subdued femme fatale way.

PROS: Slightly sweet and fruity, but still sexy. It's not a young woman scent. It's for grown-ups. ;) (The more I remember this stuff, the more I miss it.) The longer it is on the skin, the less sweet/fruit I smell. It gets a little more on that grown-up/sexy side. I agree with other reviewers that it is similar to Hypnotic Poison by Dior.
CONS: May be too strong for some. It is potent.

This is one of my very favorire fragrances! I have been using Deep Red for about 8 years. It's little bit strong so no need to use it much, 1 little spray will do just perfect. I usually like to wear it during winter, its a really deep, sexy and original scent. I also love the bottle, and its not pricy at all. Im not using this so often during summer (except some evenings), just because it can be too strong. Vry often when I use it, I get compliments and people ask me what is this perfume... :))

I first got a sample of this in 2003 (during my last year of high school).. I did not like it at all. Even though people would always comment that I smelled delish when wearing it, I think that my tastes were more suited to sickly sweet generic types of smells when I was in high school. Anyway I sprayed that little sample a couple of times throughout the years but mostly it was stored away. Then last night while I was cleaning I found it and decided to spray it on a whim- yummy!! I would describe it as warm, sexy, but not revealing too much- kind of inviting people in to find out more. Definitely suitable for a date or a night out. I went out today and bought the 30 mls. It smells so good! Guess my tastes have really developed. And I've already gotten a compliment.

This has to be one of my favourite perfumes. I love the scent of it. It is a very sexy scent. I think it is more suited for evening or winter as it might be a bit too strong scent to wear in summer or during the day. I suppose it could work during the day but either way I love this perfume and will keep repurchasing it.

I'd give this a 4.5.
I smelled it on a clothing saleswoman, and liked it, so I asked her what it was. It smelled very feminine and alluring.
I then found it at Filene's Basement for a very good price, maybe $25 or $30, so I bought it.
It's kind of a sexy sweetish, but not too sweet, vanilla scent.
It smells just slightly less nice on me, than it did on the other person, so I am not giving this a 5.
But it's a very wearable and versatile scent.

"Sexy" is definitely the word for this perfume. I've been wearing it now off & on for nearly 5 yrs. I get multiple compliments on this perfume, mostly from men. It is a bit 'heavier' scent so probably more of a winter perfume. Very sensual, sexy, sophisticated & any other "s" word I've forgotten!
