I was a little sceptical about getting jojoba oil at first because I had read some reviews here and noticed a lot of people saying it "made them break out" and "gave me tiny bumps". I wasn't too worried about the jojoba oil purging my skin, but didn't want to buy something that would give me tiny bumps. I have enough problems.

I'll be absolutely honest here: I've been dealing with acne for about a decade now. It's left my face littered with dark scars that just wouldn't fade and I would look in the mirror daily to find a new pimple SOMEwhere on my face (except my chin and nose, oddly enough). It was a nightmare. I felt hideous. At the end of my rope.

When I went to Whole Foods looking for a gentle moisturizer (my skin is not sensitive by any stretch of the word), I was pointed to jojoba oil. Still sceptical and actually a little scared, I put a little on my hands and put the extra just under my chin on my neck and walked around the store for about a half hour. When I felt those spots again, I noticed they were a LOT softer than when I'd walked in the store and my hands were lovely. I bought the jojoba oil.

After about a month of using it (in an OCM I use once a week and love, and as a morning moisturizer) I can say that yes, it certainly did purge my skin. But I look in the mirror in suspended disbelief now because my tone is a lot smoother, my skin is more moisturized, and it has a lovely glow to it. Yes, I still have acne. Yes, it'll take some time to get rid of it. I don't expect a miracle in a bottle, but I do expect some help from nature to get the job done.

The only con is the cap on this bottle. It squirts out the oil like a ketchup bottle. What I have to do instead is take the lid off completely and use a q-tip to get the amount of product I need (just one drop is good for my whole face, under my chin, and behind my ears)

In the end: I will re-purchase.

I love jojoba oil! It is awesome for most skin types and I never worry that it is going to break me out and my skin is complicated: acne prone, sensitive and changes from combination to oily depending on the week. I use this stuff straight as nighttime moisterizer, I use it as main ingrediant in my OCM cleanser and this stuff replaced my overpriced but beloved biosilk. Obviously, it's oil and must be used sparingly.

I have been purchasing from Aura Cacia because I trust them. I only buy the oils that are labeled "USDA certified" because I want to know I'm not spreading motor oil on my face from some country claiming it's jojoba...lol. Due to the popularity, jojoba oil is little harder to find for a good price, good ole supply and demand. Anyway, I can't live without jojoba oil.

This review could honestly be for any organic, cold-pressed jojoba oil. I just happen to use Aura Cacia's since it's readily available at my local Whole Foods rather than buying online. Note that this is for the *organic* Aura Cacia jojoba oil. I hate the bottle it comes in (that itself deserves a 2) but I just decant it out into another bottle.

Jojoba oil is another one of those items I wish it hadn't taken me this long to find. I use it both as a cleanser and a moisturizer. As a cleanser, I do a simpler OCM: two squirts in my palm (sometimes I add a little honey), massage into skin, wipe off gently with a warm washcloth. Out of all the oils I tried for oil cleansing jojoba was the only one that didn't irritate, was neither too oily nor too drying, and actually unplugged my pores without inflaming them. For a moisturizer I add two small drops of this to my HA serum and pat on. Sometimes after cleansing I don't need to put on any extra oil at all. Because jojoba mimics the skin's natural sebum it helps curtail my previously excessive oiliness. Combined with other factors (see my reviews on ACV and honey) my skin is now normal rather than oily, and I rarely break out.

Anything that is jojoba oil breaks me out, two years ago i tried OCM and it was amazing my beauty was at its peak. Until I incorporated jojoba to my regime a month ago, my face broke out sooo bad with sooo many pimples like angry soldiers colonizing and spreading every part of my face. I look like ww2, but thanks to lacura products and the anti wrinkle night cream i was saved, my face is beautiful again. (I USE WRINKLE CREAM EVEN THOUGH I AM 17 BECOS PREVENTION IS KEY)

Would I buy this product again? NEVER!

i've been dealing with acne for over a decade. i've thrown thousands of dollars away on dermatologists, prescriptions, over the counter scrubs, washes, toners, and creams. you name it, i've tried it. i've skipped school, i've avoided human interaction. a friend told me about her housemate trying a new cleansing method for her problem skin that involved using oil instead of a wash. the thought of it was terrifying, but i figured i'd try it out, since i've tried everything else.

girls, boys. don't be afraid of washing your face with oil. it saved me. i've been using the oil cleansing method for only two weeks and my face looks better than it has in so many years. its soft and glowing. its constantly moisturized and clean feeling. i'm not afraid of eye contact anymore. big name companies that are claiming to want to help you are really just keeping themselves rich by keeping your acne around. they aren't fixing anything. stop wasting your money on them. their products strip your skin and dry it out. they starve it of the oils that your face needs to stay balanced.

i recommend rubbing straight jojoba oil into your skin for a few minutes in the morning and night. make a washcloth piping hot, wring it out and set it on your face until it cools down. wipe away the excess oil and go about your day with confidence. i wish you all the same good results i have had from using this method.

this give me red bumps all over :( quiet sad since i thought it gonna be good for my skin cuz jojoba oil is close to ur skin and all~
first 3 min it make my skin feels so good and smooth but after that it goes wrong. red bumps all over and dries out my skin.
I don't know if it's the brand or it's that i'm allergic to jojoba oil

*after uses*
I take my review back. It get rid of all my itchy flakes and give me a really firm, smooth face. My skin take about a month to get use to this jojoba oil and after that AMAZING result. This make my skin less sensitive than before and the flakes doesnt come back when i uses this. so deffinitely my HG oil.

Jojoba oil is a lovely moisturizer, particularly for someone with skin as dry as mine. This product is really good to apply in the night-time and wake up with soft, smooth skin. Another way to use it is as a makeup remover, which works quite well. This is something you should buy if you want a natural, no-chemical night moisturizer. It's expensive at $11 a bottle, but it's quite beneficial to your skin. One squeeze yields a lot, so don't try too hard to get the oil out of the bottle or you may get a lot more than you wanted. I'm planning to put some on my legs and see if it works as well as it does on my face.

have only used this twice but i am pretty amazed. i put just the SMALLEST drop in my palms and spread together before massaging it into my hair and my hair is sooo soft and nice. i have also used it on my face but i add very little of it to my jason organic 98% aloe vera gel with some glycerin and boy, i wore it at night and the next morning my face was soft and less oily than when i use regular oil free moisturizer and i also used it during the day and also experienced less oil on my face than with my regular moisturizers! i think ppl are right when they say, if u strip your face of oil, it will only get oilier b/c i put oil on and it was less oily! gave my skin a healthy (not oily) glow :) worth it! OH! as for packaging, if you get it at a vitamin or organic food store, in the vitamin aisle there should be little brown or blue bottles with a closed top with a dropper attached to it. definitely buy one of those if u plan on using this for skin care b/c the bottle that it comes in is horrible! it squirts tooo far and too hard for you to even try to control the amount. the dropper is nice though if u get one.

Be careful before starting the Oil Cleansing Method. Probably because I don't know how to do it, or my skin isn't suitable, but it left me with worse skin.

My skin was actually fine before I tried this. I think using this oil clogged my pores real badly so that I began developing these weird bumps and broke out easily.

It took me almost a year to recover from it by searching high and low for the right products (my previous cleanser no longer worked for me).

It's been almost a year and I still have pimples and bumps, but it's really much better, finally. I think the trick is to cleanse my skin real properly, with gentle yet effective cleansers.

So please use this with caution. In my opinion, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. That is, if your normal skincare routine is working well, there's no need to try this new kind of routine.

I don't have much obvious physical scarring from this, thank goodness, but psychologically I'm definitely scarred.

I love this product for my oily-acne prone skin. My skin does look better when I use this and I have been using jojoba oil for over a yr and my skin has never looked better! I absolutely hate the bottle so I usually just put it in my own little bottle so I can control how much I need.

FYI: I buy the organic version and love it!

I would love this so much better if it came in a better bottle.
It's hard to control the amount, so I just end up taking the cap off and then covering it with my palm to get just a smidge.
I did use this for a my face for a while, but after discovering that it works wonders on my semi-curly, very frizzy, not-to-be-tamed hair, I no longer use it on my face.
After I get out of the shower, I comb my hair with a giant toothed comb then smooth some of this wonder oil on it. It leaves my strands smooth, silky, and glossy without being greasy and dull.

UPDATE:
I am now using this on my face, but slightly diluted with some water, like damp palms. Has really helped with my dryness and makes my skin feel like real skin! LOVE IT

I get the organic version of this and I really like it. I use jojoba oil for my nighttime moisturizer because it's so close to your skin's natural sebum. I think it's much healthier for your skin than putting on a night cream, which can be very rich and habit-forming for your skin. Definitely too shiny for daytime use (I like Dermalogica's Active Moist for day use) but great for sleeping.

I really love this product - it's my first experience using a carrier oil of any kind, & it fits into my routine beautifully. I did, however, take the advice of another's review & rip out the plastic bit in the cap - big mistake! Now FAR more than I need comes out.

But I mix this with a bit of tea tree oil, lavender essential oil, & caster oil, rub onto my face, & then jump in the shower. My face has never looked better! :)

I know a few people have mentioned that it seems expensive, but you truly only need a few drops of this stuff. Isn't a fabulous complexion worth $12?

I have always been really skeptical about using an oil to put on my already extremely oily face (mostly my t-zone), but after doing a lot of research, I decided to give this a shot. I went to a Whole Foods in Toronto and was originally searching for Desert Essence's jojoba oil, but this was the only brand they had. There are actually two kinds that this brand makes, and I opted for the non-organic one (they cost the same). I actually e-mailed the company when I got home to ask if there was a difference between the two, and a few days later, I received a reply and was told that there was a very small difference; however, both would have virtually the same effect on the skin and that I needn't worry.

With that said, I absolutely love this! It honestly really "mimics" my skin's natural oils, which is why my skin is no longer super oily by the end of day! It's amazing! And what I actually love most about this is that I know exactly what I am putting on my face, since it is 100% natural, as opposed to all those other moisturizers out there that have who-knows-what in them and are double the price of this.

I mainly use this by itself at night, as in the daytime I like to have SPF, so I take just a bit of this and mix it with my moisturizer (Olay Complete with SPF 15) and I have both sun protection as well as preventing oily skin! Also, I find that when I give the bottle a really firm and quick squeeze, less product comes out, so I don't really have a problem with the dispenser.

I really hope this works for anyone who decides to try it out, it really works for me and I have the satisfaction of knowing that I am putting something natural on my skin! If not, there are so many other uses for this (hair, body, etc.), you really can't go wrong!

I decided to hunt down Jojoba Oil for a deep conditioner on my dry, dry ends because I researched online about all natural oils for hydration! This oil is almost exactIy like your own natural oils from your scalp, which sounded great to me! I found this one for 15 bucks at my local health food store.

I use it two diffrent ways : I put it on my damp hair an hour before shampooing when my hair is overly dry which is about once a week, to help prevent the shampoo from drying out my hair. I also use a squirt in my favorite conditioner every time I wash my hair. I found this way has made vast diffrences in the overall health of my hair, very moisturising. It adds a bit of weight to my baby fine hair which really helps tame the fluff that happens.... fine haired girls, you know what I mean ;p

I have been using jojoba oil for a little over two months now. My skin has improved greatly, and so has my acne. After a few days of using it, the acne bumps under my skin on my cheeks and chin had basically disappeared. I use it at night, not during the day as it makes my skin look too oily and greasy. I also use it as a make up remover and it does an amazing job of getting rid of eyeliner and mascara. I recommend this to anyone battling acne, dry skin, as well as anyone who needs a makeup remover. The only con is that it is super expensive... $50.00 CDN for 480 ml at the local health food store where I live. Despite the price, I will continue to purchase!

I've been using it for three weeks, and my skin has looked smoother. Although I still have a few pimples (due to hormonal issues, not the oil), my pores do look a lot smaller. Jojoba oil cleared up many lucky faces in a month, but I guess I'm not going to be one of them...

As for the bottle, all the reviewers have warned about the annoying squirt-thing. And as donnagonz has suggested, you can cut a bigger hole. I actually just ripped out that entire opening. It's really easy (just don't hesitate).

I've also tried it on my hair but I didn't notice a difference :( I give this a four because it's not the miracle oil that I thought it'd be. Hopefully that'd change in a couple more months :) as I'd want to apply for a "study-elsewhere" semester next year... but only if I have a better face!

I was initially looking for Desert Essence's jojoba oil, but this is the only one I could find at the local nutrition store. First off, terrible bottle! It squirts out way more than I need! Other than that, I'm loving this so far. I have been using it in the morning because I kept getting flaky skin from the cold dry winter weather and this has solved the problem! My MMU applies much better and doesn't look as powdery anymore. It doesn't feel too greasy and I just use the extra on my hands or legs. Hopefully I can find a dropper bottle to dispense this though.

I started using this product when I found it at our local organic grocery store for 50% off. I use it mainly to remove my makeup and sometimes as a nighttime moisturizer if I'm not using a retinol treatment. I have to say, I love it! It makes my skin glow and removes every trace of makeup. It's also very gentle on my skin. I've had no breakouts from it. I notice that when I don't use it, my skin doesn't look as fresh. I use it in one form or another almost every day. I don't see the need to spend $30 on Clinique's Take the Day Off anymore (although that is a great product itself!).

HG night time moisturizer. I use a few drops of this over my face and neck at night. It is enough to serve as a moisturizer alone. I don't use it as a daytime moisturizer because it doesn't have SPF and it leaves my skin a little shiny, especially on the T-zone of my combination skin. I forgot this bottle while I went on vacation, broke out because I didn't have it, then the pimples disappeared when I returned to using it at home again. I've also had good results from Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Creme. I mix a few drops of the Jojoba oil with my lotion as well. I can't wait to try the Apricot Kernel Oil for this brand too when this bottle runs out.
