This, is my opinion, is pretty much a dupe for MAC Red, which is one of my favorite red lipsticks! Def a bold, blue based red...creamy finish without being overly glossly. This looks beautiful on full force or blotted down as a stain. This is, again like MAC Red, an in your face red. Very pin up, something you can wear by itself without much make and look polished and put together. May be too bold for someone looking to try red the first time...a sheerer red, like MAC Lady Bug or Revlon Color Burst lip color in Cherry Tart, may be better choices. Also good for first times, a deeper red like Revlon Really Red or Mac Viva Glam 1, red but not in your face. The wear time on this color is good and feels smooth and not overly drying on the lips. If you're looking for a good blue-based brighter red at a cheap price, def give this a try!

I was in the market for a richer red. I bought the Russian Red Matte lipstick from MAC ages ago...which is my favorite...but it's so old now :(. I'll probably make myself sick if I still use it lol. Instead of buying another, I thought I'd try to find a cheaper lipstick but with the same richness.
On a whim I bought this one. It looked like a deeper red. I liked the cool tone and thought this would work out. Not as rich as I had hoped; it still seems a little bright for what I was going for, but I love it nonetheless. It's a creme finish, the pigment is excellent, and so far it's lasted through sipping on my drink today. I'm really happy with the purchase :D.

I bought this on a whim at Ulta. I adore red lipsticks and after looking at all of the options that revlon has to offer I thought Certainly Red would be perfect. It looked like a slightly dark true red, seemed perfect! But when I put it on my lips I was shocked by the pinkness! This shade should be called magenta red or freaking PINK red, but to call it Certainly Red is just deceitful, because it is certainly not red. I really just don't like pink-reds. If you do, that's great, you'll love this lipstick. Heck, that's why I give it a 3. There isn't really anything that bad about it, the formula is always great. But a warning, this isn't anything close to a true red.

My HG red, semi matte lipstick... I'm the same skin tone as Zoe Saldana and this is a true RED on my lips without looking pinkish or orange...looove it and it's insanely sexy (so I've heard) lol

On my quest to find a few great red lipsticks, I picked this up at the local drug store.
I was not disappointed by the feel or the color of this lipstick. After applying lip liner, and shading in my lips a bit, I applied the lipstick. It went on very smooth and I only needed one coat. It lasted through 2 cups of coffee and lunch before I needed to reapply. I got so many compliments from my fellow teachers and my students.
This color, along with Really Red, which is matte, are definitely my 2 go-to red lipsticks.

I'm obsessed with red lipstick and I've been on a hunt to buy a deeper red to wear for the fall/winter season. I gotta say, this is not as dark as I thought it would be, however it is still a beautiful true red color on my olive skin tone! The texture is very creamy and it glides on very easily. Even though it's not as dark as I would've liked, I kept it because I loved the color anyways!

On me this is a blue-based red with no hints of pink. It's opaque and creamy and lovely and at $1.49 on sale at CVS, it can't be beat!

This was okay. I like to mix it with my black lipstick cuz I'm weird like that. Anyway, this doesn't have ery good staying power (I bought a MUFE lipstick recently and now I can't help but compare every other lipstick to that.) This fades off me and gawd forbid your lips accidentally touch anything, cuz that poor anything will be red.

Seems a lot of girls are complaining that this looked pink on them. This was certainly not the case with me, thankfully! I am a red lipstick addict, and I love this! It's a gorgeous, glamorous, blue-based true red. At least it is on me... I have porcelain skin with neutral undertones.
I say give it a shot, if you don't like it, you can always return it.

This product has a wonderful creme formulation and superb color payoff/pigmentation. One downside (I like to think of it as an upside), is that if you are going for a true, bold red.. This specific product is not right for you. In the packaging it appears a standard, bright cherry red. But, when swatched and applied on the lips, it appears to have a blue/fuschia undertone throughout. Not at all unfavorable. Just misleading as to the true tone of the product. Overall, beautiful coloring and consistancy. Highly recommended.

Certainly Red is certainly not red, at least on me - it's pinkish in an unflattering, costumey way. The texture is nice, and perhaps the color would suit other skin tones better (I'm NW15). Not for me, though.

Really like this. Agreed with reviewer saying this looks like Chantecaille's Poppy. It does. Intense red, sort of cherry red on me. But nice. Stays on if you don't eat or drink but which lipstick doesn't.

It's more like 'Certainly Magenta'. This is definitely a blue red. I bought this thinking it would be a deep, bold, classic red color.. though it isn't. It's a hideous color(in my opinion, I'm sure some people out there love it). It's far too bright and there are nasty neon-pink tones that turn it into a weird magenta. It also feathered out on my lips(and I don't even have wrinkles) which pretty much no other lipstick has done. I'm definitely returning this and NEVER repurchasing.

Great, deep, strong RED. If stand out lips are what you're going for then you won't be disappointed with this color. Feels pretty good when worn, too.

I wanted a classic looking red, and this was not it. It pulled waaaaay too pink on me. Looks nice in the tube, but not on the lips.

I got this as a gift. The product itself is good; it might not be the most moisturizing lipstick around but the pigmentation is awesome! For a drugstore lipstick, the packaging doesn't look very bad either. I'm NC35-37 with olive undertone and this lipstick looks horrendous on me worn full force. So I just dab it lightly and put clear gloss on top. The finish is much more wearable and pretty!

This is a close, if not exact dupe of Chantecaille's Poppy... at less than a third of the price. It is a BRIGHT highly pigmented cool red. I am a red lipstick collector, the brighter the better, so I love it, but, if you prefer darker or more muted, this is not the lipstick for you.
Edit: I uploaded a picture taken in natural light, but indoors

When I put this color on my lips, my son actually burst out laughing. He said, "well, at least you can use it for Halloween!" Terribly bright fuschia red on me. Maybe I'm just not meant to wear bright colors. I wanted a true red, and all I keep getting is pink. As far as the way it feels, however, Revlon never fails. Creamy, soft, and non-drying...wish Mary Kay's lipsticks were a tenth of the feel of these. Oh well, on with my search!
