I used this along with the matching conditioner. It left my hair dry. (I was hoping it would be more moisturizing than my Paul Mitchell products for volume, but it was not. My hair was healther-looking with regular cheap products I used in the past.) I give it 3 points for not being terrible (maybe good for people with oilier, straighter hair?) or outrageously expensive and the fact it does have natural ingredients. I definitely would not buy again though.

For a shampoo that is over 99% natural this is not a bad one. It is free from harsh sulfates, but it does leave the hair pretty clean and it lathers really nicely, in comparison to other natural shampoos.
It does leave your hair extremely shiny but it can also make it so clean that fine hair will go freezy with static. I first used this in conjunction with the super shiny conditioner and the result was a mess: I looked like I had been plugged into an electric socket. However, if you use a good conditioner afterwards, especially if it's something with silicones, you can control the static and get smooth hair.
On a less happy note, it didn't help my itchy scalp, so I wouldn't buy it again (I tried a travel size) because there are better natural shampoos out there.

I really wanted to like this. Brought the conditioner and shampoo, left my hair dried..frizzy..it smells nice though. I do like the concept behind natural ingredients..and grapefruit + sugar beet sounds soo yummy and healthy..but it was a disappointment :(

hateee this! a friend of mine suggested using burt's bees line of shampoo and conditioners since they do not contain any harmful ingredients. i was totally disappointed! my hair did not get clean at all from this shampoo. it became very tangled, frizzy, and hard to manage. the conditioner did not help either. my hair remained dry and coarse after many uses. no thanks!

I LOVE this shampoo and conditioner!! It makes my hair so soft and shiny. It also leaves my hair smelling awesome, even my boyfriend noticed. He told me my hair smelled, "like a hippy, like incense something." Haha
I usually use John Frieda Brilliant Brunette, but I'm so glad I found this stuff on sale and tried it out!
The only con I can think of is the price. It's a little much for the small amount of product. I used the whole bottle of conditioner in less than a week. The conditioner is kind of runny, so it's easy to use a lot, especially if you have a lot of hair.

i have never seen my hair smooth and shiny like this with JUST air drying!
I can't wait to see the long term results!
i tried this shampoo for the first time and yes it does go birds nest.... (but any woman with natural curly hair deals with this regardless of shampoo to an extent - there is no such thing as foregoing a conditioner, it is necessary for getting your fingers through) I Love it.
Dandruff:
i have been getting BAD Dandruff lately due to weird water where i moved to, and the climate is ice cold.
it totally cleans my scalp the same way as special dandruff shampoo like Nizoral! without the chemicals
drying:
I had switched to baby shampoo a few months ago and i totally helped with less drying and dandruff but it still had the sulfates in it which i did research as being the cause to my crap crispy crunch dry hair so i tried this one. This got rid of the build up! and although i have not used it long i always use pure COCONUT OIL on my hair (lengthen not scalp to greasy) every time i wash, I HAVE TO
foaming:
i had no trouble getting it to foam (prob cause i'm used to lathing) if i have issues just dip you head under the water for a sec and work it! it with foam up like crazy.
Conditioner: well i did not have the cash to buy both shampoo and conditioner so i got the pooh' Now i had left over 'Organix coconut milk' conditioner sulfate free, which i loved the smell tho i was never impressed by it's de-tangleing performance when using with sulfate-ed shampoos. I Used it with this shampoo and it worked like normal conditioner! weird.. so guess u gotta go total sulfate free or nothing conflicting the combo does not combine well.
anyway not to go on in short:
de-tagleing is the conditioners job, and use coconut oil on as a serum if you have dry hair. but this shampoo works like shampoo should.
Like changing your diet your body and perspective adjusts, same with hair and skin care.

I know this product is getting a lot of complaints, but I actually really like this shampoo/conditioner combo.
The shampoo smells great and really gets my hair clean and my scalp stays fresh all day. My hair is medium-short and when I rinse the lather from my hair it is a bit drying, but when I add the conditioner the result is perfect. This also imparts a pretty good shine to my hair.
For those long-haired ladies, I understand how this could be drying, however, if your hair is on the shorter side you may want to give this a try. I do not have fine or thin hair either - pretty thick and wavy/curly, with a tendency to frizz. Absolutely no frizz with this at all.
The smell of this shampoo is energizing for the 1st-the-in-the-morning shower. Perks me up!

This is a good shampoo i love that its sulfate & paraben free.Smells good and the smell linger to.I don't think it left my hair shiny but then again a shampoo promising to never has.Cost around $8 pretty high i think.Therfore i won't be rebuying because i'm to much in love with my Suave almond & shea butter shampoo + conditinar to buy more expensive shampoos like this one.

background: I have Asian, straight, oily hair.
I use this if my hair's dull or dry at the length, but not when it's dry at the scalp. It does clean pretty well but leaves your hair really ... glossy, and I think this wouldn't work for frizzy hair because it does clarify a little.
It's alright, and the natural-ness is a great plus, but I don't think I'll purchase again.

This shampoo was too drying for my thin, fine hair. I do like the packaging pump dispenser and have re-used that several times with another brand.

Great natural shampoo. Natural shampoos often leave a weird residue on your hair, with this one it does but minimally a small price to pay for natural shampoo, I will keep using it unless I stumble across a better natural brand, but so far this is all I will buy.

I was looking for a sulfate-free shampoo/conditioner after I got a hair treatment done, and I was going to buy Organix, but it was all sold out. So I got this instead, because I always heard a lot of good things about Burt's Bees. But let me tell you, this product made my hair SO incredibly greasy and hard to manage. It made my hair knotted, hard to maintain, and just a mess. And the worst of it is that all around the bottom of my face (where your hair hits when you sleep, etc.), I got the worst acne I have ever gotten in my life. Even on my back, I started to get horrible zits. I only give it a 1 because we have too give a rating. Otherwise, it'd be a 0.
The only pro I have for this is that it smells amazing. Will not repurchase.

I used burt's bees shampoo and conditioner for an entire year because if how "natural" they are supposed to be. these products left my hair dry and left my hair with a residue.Ive started using "unnatural" products again, I'm currently using Fekkai and my hair looks a lot better. too bad there aren't many 'natural' shampoos/conditioners that actually work. I might give burt's bees hair products another try in the future.

I got this shampoo and the super shiny conditioner as part of a travel kit that I bought for an overnight stay at the hospital last November. I ended up not using it at the hospital, but I did try it later and I loved it! It's the first "shiny" shampoo I've ever used that actually makes my hair shiny! It does tend to strip your hair of oil, so if you have dry fly-away hair you probably won't like it. I only use it once or twice a week when I want to strip my hair of buildup from other shampoos. And when I use the conditioner with it, my hair is really fluffy and shiny! I love it!! My husband has oily thick hair and likes to use this shampoo every day.

I got the mini Burt's Bees sample pack. And, Oh.My.God.
The worst products ever.
But nothing beats this shampoo. It is from the devil.
I opened it and the smell was lovely.
I put it in my hair and the smell started to smell like fly spray.
My hair matted up into a massive ball and I could feel it dry like nothing else.
Now I know that there are some products that feel great in the shower, but outside they aren't nice. This felt horrible even in the shower.
I wouldn't accept money to use this product on my hair! Let alone use it for free. Let alone pay for this!
I am now sitting with conditioning treatments and oils in my hair to try and remedy this disaster.

I tried this awhile back and was reminded of my experience when I came across a review for it today. I used the shampoo and matching conditioner. It caused a lot of buildup, left my hair limp and feeling like plastic, and made my hair fall out. 'Nuff said.

I love this shampoo! It makes my hair shiny and feel great. It is kind of hard to work in your hair but unlike other sulphate free shampoos and conditioners this doesn't make my hair feel dry. I notice my hair color is lasting wayyy longer than it ever has and my hair is super shiny! I get compliments on my hair all the time.

Contrary to what some people are saying about this shampoo, I feel that it really works for me! I have very thick straight hair that is a little oily but this shampoo cleansed it really well and made my hair really shiny and healthy looking. The concoction does cause a little bit of frizz, but nothing a good conditioner and serum can't help with after. The smell is also an added bonus! I will be sticking with this shampoo for a long time- no more drugstore shampoo for me!

This is by far the best shampoo I have ever used. It leaves my hair amazingly healthy, shiny and soft. The reason that it is harder to work into your hair is because it is SULFATE-FREE! Not many people realize how bad sulfates are for your hair, they strip the hair of its natural oils! So the fact that it is so much healthier for your hair than other shampoos is worth the extra time you spend to work the shampoo through your hair. This shampoo also smells great, and the conditioner is just as good. I will definitely be repurchasing this product for as long as they keep making it.
