Great sugar scrub! Yes, it separates but all you have to do it stir it up before you use it. To my nose it's not a real fresh tangerine scent. It's more of a sweet, slightly creamy tangerine scent. I still like it though. The scent lasts for a short while after. My skin feels so soft and moisturized afterwards. My skin is very dry so I do have to end up moisturizing after a few hours. Overall, it's a great scrub for only $6! Now, TJ's just needs to offer another scent...they have two to choose from in the salt scrubs.

This is the best scrub! My skin dries out very easily, and this is very moisturizing. After I rinse it off, the water beads up immediately. I like the smell. It doesn't last but that's not why I want it. I use small handfuls and so far it hasn't left my shower oily. I love this, and will definitely be purchasing it again.

I bought this item today based upon the overall good reviews; like every time before, MUA ladies have not let me down! I tested it dry on my very rough, dry hands for a minute, then rinsed it off. My hands were super soft as they never have been before. Also, it smelled divine like the reviewer before said - like crushed orange jelly beans - a sweet, citrusy scent that doesn't bother me at all. I don't think it was too oily, as I took a chopstick and stirred the scrub very well before scooping it out to use. It was just the right consistency in terms of oil and scrubbiness - it left my legs and arms beautifully smooth and moisturized when I used it later in the shower. I am in love - especially for a huge tub costing $6.50 (incl tax)! Will definitely buy again and again.

definitely a good scrub... i tend to be more of a salt person, but i like this just fine. the only thing that was a little disappointing was the scent... since it is part of their "refresh" line, i figured it would be a clean citrusy smell... it smells more sugary-sweet to me, like scrubbing down with crushed up orange jelly beans. which is fine, i guess, but it makes me feel less clean after using it.

I didn't like this scrub AT ALL. I admit that for the most part, I really prefer emulsified scrubs. I hate scrubs that separate and this one does. It's hard to scoop out of the jar without making a complete mess. I also found that using it wasn't a particularly sensual experience. It didn't feel good while I was using it and it didn't do much for my skin. I also found a slight medicinal note to the fragrance. I think with this product, you get exactly what you pay for and that is not much at all.

I love this stuff. It's cheap (less than $6) and it works! The sugar granules are effective but not too rough, and the base is really oily. I have really dry skin in the winter so this stuff works miracles for me. I like this more than the Origins Ginger Scrub because I can't stand the smell of ginger. Plus, this stuff is far less expensive. I personally like the tangerine scent. It's energizing but it's not too strong. I would repurchase.

I LOVE this scrub! It's much better than the Lavender Salt Scrub that TJ also sells-- I find that too harsh, and the salt can sting sensitive skin. I use this once every week and a half or so. The price is great for the amount of scrub you get, but when I do I'll definitely repurchase. Maybe TJ will have other scents by then. The sugar granules are the perfect size to be effective without scratching. The scent is nice-- sweet but not cloying. The scent it isn't strong on my skin. I grab a handful of sugar and squeeze out the excess oil out so I'm not left with too much oil on my skin. It sinks in overnight and leaves my skin very soft and smooth.

This is a great product. I bought it on a whim yesterday at TJ's and am not disappointed. The scent is definitely citrus, but I don't get the candy note other reviews mentioned. I prefer this scrub to Philosophy's gingerbread man scrub as Purify left a moisturizing film on my skin as well as its scent. This is a great moisturizing sugar scrub. And for $6 for a large tub, its a great value! Wish it came in additional scents as I am not a citrus fan, but its so effective, I am willing to put up with the citrus scent!

This is my HG scrub! I love that it's a sugar scrub instead of a salt scrub because the sugar never burns if i have a nick or cut or anything. There isn't too much oil in it for my dry skin, but if your skin tends to be a little oilier, just pour a bit out (or if you're not sure how much you want in it, just scoop a little oil out of the top before you mix it in and add it back in if you wnat more. It comes seperated (which is why you can actually control how much oil is in it) and although it leaves a residue on my skin, it soaks in within a few minutes out of getting out of the shower and it makes me GLOW. The smell is so amazing you could almost eat if off of someone (and i've had men swoon over the scent it gives me btw). I love the ingredient list. and it feels soooo good to slather this all over my body. legs, feet, elbows, back, arms, even face. This stuff is just amazing. I can't say enough good things about it. I have tried a lot of more expensive types and this one leaves them in the dust. Plus at $6 for a big jar I don't have to feel guilty for not jut making my own. I have bought this several times now and have been using it for a few years now i guess. It has never made me break out or clogged my pores in any way and I've used it both in summer and in winter. TRUE LOVE.

**UPDATE**
I still love this product just as much as I did when i first starting using it. It is absolutely the best scrub EVER! I couldn't make it for the price either! I use it on my feet, legs, body, and even on my face from time to time. It leaves my skin glowing and flawless! I would recommend this to anyone!

HG sugar/salt scrubs. The lavender one is fantastic and the tangerine really does smell like candy! The best is using it on legs the day after shaving. I step out of the tub feeling like an absolute goddess! And it is an absolute godsend for feet, too.

In my opinion, an essential for every woman.

I love scrubs, and have tired many different brands. I *love* this TJ's Purify Scrub....but then what's not to like: it's cheap (less than $6 for the 18oz tub), smells great (citrusy) and has the right amount of scrubiness to oil ratio.

I use it in the shower and buffs me up wonderfully, leaving a nice soft sheen of oil on the skin to moisturize.

My only caveat is make sure you stir it when you first open the jar because there will be a thick layer of oil on the top.

I got the grapefruit one, but I believe it's pretty much the same except for the fragrance. Great stuff. I'm looking forward to trying the tangerine one and the lavender one, but that'll be a while because you get a lot of product. Makes you soooo smooth and soft.

It's a little too oily for daily use all over my body (even though I tend to be dry and moisturize daily with body oil after my shower). BUT, it's great for an occasional treat in the bath. And I use it daily on my feet. I can't say enough about what a godsend it is for feet and hands. I scrub my feet with it as my last step in the shower they are smooth and soft as silk!

You could make this yourself, but considering it's less than $6 and by the time you bought all the ingredients and got them home, and made it...you could have been out of the shower, smelling good with smooth skin.
I think it smells like candy - which is a major bonus. Also, I use less lotion on my skin if I scrub up with this right before the final rinse.
I will repurchase.

I really like this scrub alot. It has a bit too much oil in it for my liking, so I simply poured out about half of it, as it Sits On top of the tub and NOW it's the perfect amount! This smells great, gets the job done, but gently, and has wonderful ingredients. AND if that's not enough, it's a 18oz tub for only $5.99- Definite repurchase!

I have bought this scrub over and over again. I'm what you would call a "scrub junkie". if it's a scrub I've probably tried it at least once. and I'm a picky consumer when it comes to scrubs. for me to buy a scrub more than once it has to be good, and this one is, and it's dirt cheap too! I think I pay $5-6 for 18oz jar, and it lasts me a long time; about 2 weeks with daily use. I wish they offered it in more scents than citrus, but I love citrus so I'm not complaining. however, when you first open it there will be a thick layer of oil, which is impossible to mix in commpletely, so your first couple of uses you'll come out greasy, which is why I've only given it 4 of 5 lippies. once you're past that first bit though it's great. just the right ratio of oil to sugar. and it's very scrubby; you will come out of the shower soft as a baby.

I LOVE this!!! HAve had it for less then a month, and I am out! IT smells great, perfect to wake up to. It exfoliates well, and moisturizes good. It did wonders for my feet! I got this while in Las Vegas, too bad they don't have a TJ's where I live, I would love to buy some more!

Some of us long for the perfect body scrub the way we long for the perfect man...is it scrubby enough without being scratchy (is he clever without being arrogant)? Is there enough oil that you feel moisturized but not so much that the scrub doesn't hold together or leaves your tub slippery (does he care about his appearance enough that he looks nice, but not so much that he's unbearably vain)? When you find the perfect one, will it/he be out of your reach? The right balance in scrubs/men can be such an elusive thing that you might give up on the very idea for a few years and then - when you really aren't looking (OK, maybe a sidelong glance at the skincare shelf at Trader Joe's, for old time's sake), you find one that you're pleasantly surprised by. This scrub uses a sort of sugar that is more like regular crystallized sugar than brown sugar in texture, but the granules are somewhere between the size of plain white sugar and demerara/sugar in the raw - this gives it the perfect level of scrubbiness. The oil to sugar ratio is very good, makes it easy to slather on the scrub without leaving an oil slick on your shower floor, and it leaves the skin nicely moisturized, though the main oils are sweet almond, sunflower and soybean, which aren't the smoothest or best absorbed oils, but hey, you can't have everything. And speaking of not having everything, the scent is more orange candy than fresh citrus, bringing back memories of the sickly-sweet Totally Juicy Grapefruit pap, but it does fade. I think I paid about $6 for this, and it was well worth it for a good-sized 18 ounce tub. Caveat: be prepared to throw your bath towel in the wash after wiping down post-scrub, and possibly cleaning the shower if you don't want the scent to linger.
