This is a review for the Chapstick Classic flavor in the black tube.
I am often allergic to SPF and lip balms/glosses/lip sticks if they contain SPF or any flavor. However, this is the only lip balm I can wear that contains both. For some reason I do not break out in hives from this product as I would if I used the Cherry or Strawberry flavors.
I love to wear this balm when out and about to protect my lips from the sun rays. I will continue to purchase for as long as it is available.
2 lippies off for white petrolatum being the only moisturizing agent in this balm. I wish it contained cocoa butter or shea butter instead to offer actual moisturization. But I will use another balm under it for that then this on top for the sun protection.
Overall, I recommend this product!

I love Chapstick, all the flavoured ones taste/smell great! I slap them on every night before bed and I never have dry lips- leave your lips feeling soft and nourished, I think everyone should have at least one!

I may have one of the worst cases of chapped lips. Mine are chapped, cracked and constantly peels off all year long even though I dutifully exfoliate it regularly. This has happened for about 7 years now and none of the products I've used seems helpful. My friend gave a strawberry Chapstick and it really improved my lips at first. Like, for the first time in 7 years, I could actually feel the softness of my lips and there's no layer of dead skin on it. I was totally grateful for that! However, after 5-6 months of using, all of the chapping, peeling came back again and Chapstick barely helps in mosturizing anymore. So I've stopped using it. Guess this can't cure my lips and I'm looking for another products.

I feel like people want to love chapstick even if it's not a good product. This really does make my lips smooth, however it dries them up and chaps them afterwards.

Chapstick is actually a decent product for the money paid, especially compared to Burt Bees or some of the other highfalutin lip balms. I like the original (one that has camphor scent) and the peppermint flavors. I do not think it nourishes the lips in any way, but it does add a layer of protection from the cold and wind.
I am just wary of the oxybenzene (?) or similar 'controversial' ingredients in this balm.
One nice use I found, is to melt the lip balm on very low heat and add rose and vanilla essential oils. Voila! We have a low-cost rose salve ready! It smells sweet and feels good on the lips too. I use a mix of rose, lavender and vanilla (rose being higher percentage). Smells delicious. One could also add a little olive oil or apricot kernel oil, to make the balm thinner.
Of course, I also have the original camphor scented balm handy!

I'd have to say that hands down this is the BEST lip balm I've used...and I've tried many. My favorite would be Cherry. There's someting about the scent that's so comforting to me. I can still remember when my dad kept a tube with him at all times when I was a kid. He always had the unscented one (black tube) and I'd always beg to use it. Now as an adult, it's my go to lip balm. Nothing compares to the quality. I love how soft it makes my lips.

I've been using this brand every since I was born! This has never failed me and I will always have 2 or 3 of these around my house. They heal dry and chapped lips and makes them super soft for my lipstick and lip gloss. It is very light, not very greasy. And Chapstick has many different flavors and they taste like it too.
But anyway- I'm always gonna buy this again

This review is for classic black tube chapstick.
It smells like camphor and does not cause irritation on my lips, I also use it on my toddler son's cheeks in the winter before we go outside to play in the snow. Its one I will buy again and again. There arent alot of products I can use, so when I find one I can with no problems, they have a loyal customer for life.
Cherry chapstick causes lip irratation for me.

Okay. I love Chapstick. It's a lifesaver. My lips felt quite dry and sore and within a few hours of using my strawberry chapstick, my lips felt smooth and just generally gorgeous! I have loads now and I take on everywhere!

I love this chapstick! I usually use the cherry or the strawberry which leaves a sheer pink tint on the lips if applied twice. This keeps my lips moisturized for hours and is great to use if you're going to put a matching sheer lipgloss to go with it!

I have this in green apple, cherry and original. I only have green apple opened, though. I have so much lip products already opened it is entirely impossible for me to open another one. But, back to the topic. It doesn't leaves a green tint, works well, dirt cheap, nice packaging, has a SPF, what else can you ask for? Probably best lip product I have ever used in my life. (Which is, a lot, considering the fact that I'm a lip product addict) Can't wait to finish the green apple and try the cherry <3333333

I love how smooth this feels ^.^ I usually get the Cherry or Strawberry, and both give a little bit of color :) This also hasn't dried out my lips or anything like that. To me, it's kind of pricey (I like it cheap haha ;)) it's pretty much $2 where I shop...but a little goes a long way. The packaging is fine, I've had problems w/ the balm falling in the cap :P That just happens though! I would also buy this again.

I have eczema on my lips, and am allergic to a lot of lip products.
I've tried several of Chapstick's flavors and I love em all.
I love how waxy it is- I love waxy lip balms because it really feels like it seeps in, instead of sitting ontop of my lips.
Even if it has SPF it doesn't leave that horrible white filmy residue along your lips. UGH that stuff is nasty.
Packaging is simple, love it, love it all!
Thumbs up from the eczema sufferer.

its chapstick. WHO CAN LIVE WITHOUT IT?
I personally like the classic over the scented ones because it feels more "professional".. if that makes sense haha
well this chapstick leaves behind a very soft pair of lips :D thats all i can say!
and its like $1.50.
can you spare a dollar?

This product is AMAZING. I love it so much!!! It keeps my lips moisturized all the time. I understand how some people don't like applying lip balms all the time, but personally, I don't mind since I reapply every thirty minutes, even if the balm hasn't came off yet. Anyways, I've gotten all my Chapstick free from airplane bags XD so in some way, there's no cost... I tried many different lip balms before this, but this one works the best. My lips feel so soft all the time!!

This is one product that I keep around all year. My favorite is Cherry Chapstick. It is a classic--hydrates my lips perfectly without any greasy residue and it even has a spf. For me, this is both a preventive care product as well as a healing one. It keeps my lips healthy and should they ever get parched, Cherry Chapstick is all I need to restore my lips back to being soft and healthy. It is reasonably priced. I love when it goes on sale because I buy a couple extra tubes to keep around my home. (one by the TV, another by the computer, one in my handbag and another on my nightstand! It is *that* good. Love this product!

A couple years ago this was my go-to chapstick. It smelled good and it conditioned.
Now it sucks.
I don't know if they changed the ingredients or if it just doesn't work for me anymore...but it's pretty bad. If you don't usually have a problem with dry lips then this can work for you but if you do have dry lips, I wouldn't recommend it. I feel like I have to keep reapplying it and it just doesn't work, I was so annoyed that I got carmex which is only 3890472x better :).

This is a staple for my make up bag. I like the cherry because it leaves a pink tint that brightens up my face. I've used other lip balms for chapped lips but I keep coming back to this as it works and is dirt cheap and you can pick it up pretty much anywhere!
