Finding a good moisturizer with sun protection for a combination or oily skin is close to impossible and the trend continued with this product. I found that it didn't absorb into my skin and it left a greasy and super shiny look to my skin (no matter how little I used) and no amount of makeup could help.

This product is great - I'm loyal back many years. It's moisturising, makes my skin soft and gives lasting sun protection without budging, being heavy, greasy or making me break out. I've been using it for years and routinely use it as normal sunscreen on my shoulders etc. with a light dusting of powder.

I LOVE this product. I'm a swimmer and live in Southern California, so my skin takes a beating from sun & chlorine. I like the fact this isn't greasy, smells great, and is highly rated by dermatologists.

I have normal/combination skin that is also sensitive. I purchased this lotion for the SPF30. I find that this lotion does not provide enough moisture for my skin. It did not irritate my skin but I found that areas outside of the T-zone felt dry. It may work better for someone with oily skin.

There are two hydraphase UV SPF 30 products. One has mexoryl, which I purchased online through a Canadian drug store, the other has other UVA/UVB ingredients that are FDA approved in the US. I always use the LA Roche Posay SPF 50+ with Mexoryl. It is the only block that prevents my melasma from darkening. However, I figured that I only spend a total of 30 minutes commuting in the winter sun during the work week, so I could use something with mexoryl that doesn't require such a high spf. I am not sure how this product does with sun protection right now. But it is really not a good moisturizing base. It does sink in fairly well without alcohol to help deliver it. There seems to be a slightly sticky residue left that one would think would help foundation adhere better. My skin feels temporarily damp but not hydrated and it causes foundation and powder to sit on top of my skin rather than help it blend into my skin. By the end of the day, my skin looks dry with patches of separated loose powder and foundation that lays on top. I used Olay Professional and that was such a well absorbed lotion w/ great staying power that I just can't use this La Roche. I wish Olay could use mexoryl. I will probably go back to the La Roche SPF 50+ block. It may be overkill in the winter but I will have mexoryl and a decent, not super, moisturizing base.

This is a bit of a strange product. It goes oily when I put it on. Then after like 30 minutes later, my skin feels drier than before I applied the moisturiser. I can't figure it out. I bought it for the SPF protection though. But I like the fact it kinda give my skin a nice colour.

I have been using this stuff for a couple years. I've tried to wean myself away from it because it's a little pricey for a pump bottle that you can't completely empty. That said,I find this stuff is like magic. It is water based and absorbs like magic.Doesn't cause breakouts or irritate existing breakouts. I also tried the Rosalic but I promptly switched back to the Hydraphase UV is a keeper for me.I imagine as I get a bit older I'll need the more concentrated version but for now, this stuff is a dream.

Love, love, love. For my morning moisturizing--depending on how dry I'm feeling--I switch back and forth between LRP's Hydraphase UV and the Redermic UV. The Hydraphase UV is the more moisturizing of the two. On days that I use this, I apply my vitamin C serum, wait about 5 minutes, then apply the Hydraphase UV on top of it. It sinks and and my skin feels instantly quenched. It creates a great base for makeup and does not increase oiliness later in the day. I generally only get intermittent sun exposure while walking outside or driving in the car, but have also been caught outdoors for an extended time while wearing this and have never had a burn or signs of sun damage.

I unknowingly discovered there are different variations of Hydraphase UV. The Canadian version contains Mexoryl and Titanium Dioxide, while the US version *does not*. The Canadian version is clearly labeled as containing Mexoryl on the front of the bottle, as well as being listed in the ingredients. The US version, while the bottle appears the same, contains different UVA/UVB sunscreen ingredients that are approved for the American market. The only other noticeable difference is that the Canadian version is more perfumed for some reason. I prefer to use the Mexoryl version so I order several at a time (to save on shipping) from www.well.ca

As stated on product: Hydraphase UV spf30 Intense Rehydration 24 hour hydration, Sensitive Skin. Active Ingredients: Avobenzone 3%, Octisalate 5%, Octocrylene 7% (These active ingredients for some reason seem to differ from those posted in the initial reviews for this product)

*PIC* of full listing of ingredients and CIBA result ppd measure.

I had quite a few generous samples of this product and I had been so curious to try it out! Well, I should have just stuck to being curious cause I was sadly disappointed, oh well. At first when I was blending this onto my skin after my daily skin care routine, I thought it was too good to be true, left absolutely no cast whatsoever, sinked in fabulously and my skin looked so matte to the point I wondered whether it might not be moisturising enough, but then as I was finishing massaging it in, yep, it turned pretty slick looking- nothing too horrendous, but not exactly my cup of tea :( Therefore, with a slick finish and a ppd of a 6.8, erm, not for me unfortunately.

This is a great product! The sunscreen is effective (contains Mexoryl Sx and Titanium dioxide for UVA-phobic girls like me) and it is sufficiently hydrating for a daytime moisturizer in the summer. Did not clog my pores at all and absorbs readily.

Wow I had an entirely different experience than the majority of the people here. I hate this stuff. I used it off and on for a couple of years and it's just awful. I have combination skin with quite dry cheeks and somewhat oily nose, and this was VERY drying on my cheeks. I put it on and I could feel my skin getting dryer.
It was particularly bad in the winter. I would not buy this again. I prefer Neutrogena healthy defense now as it's moisturizing and protective.

Wow! I can't believe how awesome this is. I have combo skin, oilyish t-zone with dry cheeks and my skin reacts to certain ingredients (can't quite pinpoint what one yet). This smells faintly like cucumbers, goes on like a dream, absorbs fast, has no greasy feel and has just THE RIGHT amount of moisture. I am also very prone to clogged pores around my chin and have not had any problems yet. I LOVE the pump it comes in and dispite the somewhat over priced price point (I think around $33 CAN) I will buy this again! I would like to try the hydraphase light at night now.
UPDATE: Ended up returning it as my skin felt even drier after using it for 2 weeks.LRP products just don't agree with me.

I like it! it moisturizes and doesn't clog my pores (acne prone skin) - only thing is , the top (that covers the pump) doesn't stay on at all. But that's not a big deal....

I really like this moisturizer. because...
1, it's not oily, won't clog my pores
2, the scent is not strong
3, it has spf 30
4, not that expensive compared to other big brands (around 30 cdn)
but...
sometimes it's really hard to pump the moisturizer out because of the packaging

overall, i still think that this is a good product

This is my routine daily moisturizer. I have dry-combination skin (more dry than combo) that tends to break out. This feels very light on the skin but moisturizes my skin effectively without inducing breakouts. Love the SPF 30! Decent UV protection without that heavy sunscreen feeling (but I pull out the heavy stuff for outdoor fun and sports). Only quibble I have with this is that I'd prefer an unscented product.

this works great and i love that it in a pump. this prevents the spread of germs. I use this all year round before i apply make-up. I dont reccommend this product if you skin is super super oily. This does moisturize my skin plus i have the added benefit of sunscreen. which is important!!!! Plus i havent noticed any breakouts on my skin because of this product.
