This a nice Egyptian musk. I got a lovely creamy caramelly sweet milky scent with the original special formula x, which eventually died down to musk like this. But with extreme, I just got musk from the second I applied it and nothing else for the life of the scent. It's nice but I prefer the original and I would rather it be called Egyptian musk so I don't have other expectations of a fancy new scent.

This suckered me in with it's self-adjusting, emperors new clothes aspect (I prefer low sillage skin-scents). From the sample tube I smelled absolutely nothing, which made me want to apply it even more so, so that I could blast it. I applied a little in the inside of my elbow right before bedtime, and laid down completely covered with a comforter. It took about 20 minutes to bloom, but bloom it did into a fluffly cloud of sweet, light, white musk. And it was an aura as if I had applied it all over, not just the inside of my elbow. I will next sample by applying in other places, and wearing while I am actively up and about, to see how it evolves without the direct body heat.

I used to be sooooooooooooo into musks and at that time I liked Special Formula X. But now, it seems so been there done that, even in the X-treme formula. It's a nice Egyptian Musk, perhaps a tad more floral and less marine/aquatic than the original but nothing more, nothing else.

I love this one as much as I loved my Special Formula X
The difference is that the Special formula X-treme lasts even better.

As expected, this is a stronger formula of Dawn's popular DSH Formula X (a clean-smelling egyptian musk fragrance). It's still not something to wear if you are looking for any sillage, but it is more present on my skin than the original and it seems to last longer. I still have plenty of Special Formula X to last a while and I won't replace it with this only because it's basically the same fragrance. It's also terribly overpriced for what it is.
