I was in a bit of a money problem and about a couple of months ago I dyed my hair red.It fades very fast and I wanted to buy a shampoo that maintained my colour for a little bit and was cheap.I didn`t notice any differences and I dont`t know if it keeps my colour from fading. When I first started to wash my hair with it I was amazed because I had a lot volume and shine but after a couples of uses it dried my hair real bad ,gave me an itchy scalp and a lot of split ends.I would only use when I neeed that volume boost. It may be possible that they changed the ingredients a bit ,because I live in Romania and here alk the product are changed with cheaper ones.

I have thick, long but fine hair dye it hair black and red-black and this is the best shampoo (and the conditioner) for dyed hair! It's amazing how soft this makes my hair feel and I need to wash it less because the grease just isn't coming back as fast as it used to. I swapped to this after my scalp started to get itchy and irritated and this completely soothes my scalp. Give it a try. No doubt you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I am!

This is my favorite shampoo. I have tried pretty much every store brand out there and a few salon brands as well. I have my hair dyed black and I have to redye it often due to my brown roots showing so unfortunately I can't speak for how well it works on preventing fading. However, I will say it makes my hair incredibly soft! I have never had a shampoo leave my hair so soft before. I don't even need conditioner which is pretty impressive seeing as how I have thick, frizzy, dry hair. I find the smell really nice as well. It has a nice, fresh, clean scent. Having said all that, I must add that it may not be good for all hair types. I mentioned it makes my thick, dry hair nice and soft but if you have thin hair and/or hair that tends to get oily quickly then this may not be a good choice.

Regardless, for me this is definitely a great product and I don't see myself changing shampoos for a very long time.

This is my favourite shampoo! When I keep my hair black(Garnier 100% Color in blue black is my prefered) I won't use anything but this. I alternate between keeping my hair the blackest black, and bleaching it and keeping it the redest red I can, so I have trouble keeping one colour where the last took hold, as you can imagine. The black began fading within a couple weeks after the first time I went back from red. This shampoo really extends the life of my black hair and keeps it soft, shiny and healthy! Thumbs up for my HG shampoo(when I have black hair)!

This shampoo is great! I have short, medium-dense light brown colour-treated hair. My hair is prone to oiliness and I frequently gets dry ends. This really gets my hair clean and leaves it very soft. It smells pleasant and lathers well and rinses out easily. My colour seems to be holding up well. I really liked this and will probably purchase again. I think this is really good value for money as well.

I have darkened hair that I use a semi-permanent color gloss to get it to a level 2. Every other shampoo I used stripped the color except for this one. I could go 2 months without a touch up whereas my color would generally fade within 2 weeks with other shampoos. Smells great, and doesn't overdry chemically processed hair.

I picked up this shampoo along with the conditoner because it was designed for darkened hair, and other colour care shampoos tend to focus on those who go lighter. It definitely doesn't strip my colour like some other shampoos have done, but it leaves me resorting to ponytails instead of wearing my hair down. Like the review below me, it leaves my hair tangly and frizzy after use, and oily within 24 hours. The scent was very synthetic and perfumey. I am using it up so it doesn't go to waste but I won't repurchase. Price was fairly expensive for a drug store brand (about $8).

This shampoo is just bizarre. It's a cream shampoo, so you'd expect it to be heavy and really moisturizing. Instead, it lathers almost too well and leaves my hair dry and tangled. The smell is very strong and it lingers until the next time I wash my hair. The scent is nice but after a while it's a bit much, it's more of a perfumey kind of smell rather than the more subtle signature Dove scent. It has not kept my color from fading at all, but I have yet to find a shampoo that does help in that area. I would recommend this shampoo only for those who have oily hair and who like strongly fragranced hair products.

Wow!! I have straight fine hair and a lot of it so I have always used volumizing shampoos. I got a sample of this though so I decided to try it out. It is nice smelling and pretty thick. It gives a thick lather and rinses clean also. It left my hair so clean, full, and shiny that I ran out and bought it- along with the conditioner- the next day. I am hooked. I have even been able to go a day in between washing my hair with no greasy mess.

I've always used salon products on my hair, as mine is realllly long and I find the quality better. My HG is the L'Oreal Professionel line for shampoo & conditioner. Since I've been a bit tight on the money this month and I couldn't splurge on the expensive L'Oreal salon shampoo, I decided to pick up some drugstore stuff again (haven't done that in ages!) Well, this shampoo seems to work pretty well. My hair is very delicate so it doesn't seem to dry it out and it lathers up nicely. I do think it has some aggressive detergents in it simply because of how much it lathers. However, I did have to take off 2 points for the TERRIBLE smell. I like nice smelling shampoos and this one is just so overly sweet and fake floral scented, it's quite unpleasant. So I don't think I'd repurchase on that criteria alone because the smell does linger and it puts me right off. So, an ok product but they really need to use a better scent for this. Update: This caused terrible built up and the texture of the shampoo is like sticky male ejaculate!! Gross. Never buying this again.

I guess I'll be the only voice of dissent here... I didn't like this shampoo at all. I only used it once but my hair felt like straw after I washed it and before I conditioned it. After I rinsed the shampoo out I was SCARED. My hair felt really dry and tangled. I used my regular conditioner and the final result was that my hair was only a tiny bit more dry than usual. However, just that moment in the shower was enough to turn me off of this product forever. I normally use Aveda or Wella for color-treated hair, but I've also used Pantene for color-treated hair and Sebastian glossing shampoo and my hair has never felt like straw after I washed it. Maybe it's just me... The packaging is fine and the price is very cheap. So, I'm not too upset about wasted money. Since it got so many good reviews and it's so cheap I guess it's worth trying once.

This shampoo and conditioner are great! Before I blow dry my hair I do use Citre Shine's hair serum/polisher and my hair looked great! This is a great shampoo and conditioner -- my hair is soft and has a clean scent. This is an excellent product, I've used professional products that weren't as good as this. Give it a try!

I've used a lot of shampoos for dark hair and did use John Frieda for a while but think this is a lot better and its a bit cheaper.
I dye my hair a dark brown and last time I dyed it was a couple of months ago and my hair still looks really dark. My hair feels really soft and is quite full after I've used this. Has quite a nice smell too. Dove shampoos the only shampoo I can use every 2 days too, gets greasy with other shampoos so need to wash it everyday.

As a college student who's been coloring her hair since middle school, I have to say this product is amazing. It somehow managed to remove about five years' worth of damage to my very fine and thin hair (including one horrible experience with stripping my hair of its previous color), something that even higher-end product lines like Matrix and Paul Mitchell couldn't do! I've never been a huge fan of Dove, but they've really redeemed themselves with this new product line of hair therapy!

I've been very happy with this shampoo. It seems to protect my color better than any I've used up to now. My hair is always soft and manageable after I've washed it with this. I use it with the matching conditioner and an occasional treatment with the radiance enhancing conditioner.

Wow..this stuff worked surprisingly well. I'm not a huge drugstore shampoo fan, but I thought I'd try this because it was a new formula. I have medium brown, almost brastrap length color-treated hair (demi-permenant color) that is thick, wavy and prone to dryness and frizz. To make matters more complicated, I also have a scalp that is prone to oiliness, and it will flake up and itch like crazy if I use the wrong product.

I used this today in conjunction with my Neutrogena Triple Moisture Mask, and my hair looks wonderful. It has to be this shampoo that helped it look this way; I was rotating several different shampoos before and using the Triple Moisture Mask as a conditioner, and my hair felt dry and was difficult to style. Today, when I used my hair dryer, my hair didn't end up in the usual frizzball formation. My hair looked smooth, super shiny and frizz-free. I can't get over how silky it feels, but it is still voluminous and bouncy--and I have absolutely no itching or flakes. Is this stuff too good to be true? I will have to update soon since this was my first use, so stay tuned.
