My first time owning a Revlon lipstick, and I have to admit that I have nothing bad to complain about this product. Like what most MUA-ers have mentioned here, it's a very nice berry coloured lippie that goes on smoothly. If you're looking for a glossy kind or sheerer formulatio, then it wouldn't be for you.

It goes on very smoothly and formulation wise, it's very creamy. It finishes off with a semi-matte look, but does not leave the lip feeling dry. You do not have to prep your lips with a lip balm prior to using this (provided that you don't have super dry lips!).

I am a fair-skinned Asian, and this shade is indeed very flattering, and transforms my look into a sophisticated one. Very impressed with the Super Lustrous line, and would highly recommend anyone trying it out !

after reading reviews on this lipstick i was so excited to go buy it. i've been wanting a berry colored lipstick for the longest time, and i thought this would be perfect for me...
unfortunately, it isn't. it's very brown and sorta looks like an old lady lipstick on me. :(
the formula's great though, it's very creamy and it goes on smoothly!
wish i could say i love it, but it's too brown for me!

I really like Revlon's Superlustrous line, and it has taken me a few tries to get the right color for me. Mauvy night is perfect--HG color! It's creamy, wonderfully pigmented and cheap! (less than $5 at Walmart currently) The color really is perfect for me, a graying but still dark-haired older woman with medium-light skin and blue-green eyes. I would recommend it to anyone with similar coloring. Another reviewer said "mauve with purple undertones, but not into goth territory." I think that pretty much covers it.

My only quibble (and it is minor) is with the round tube--would prefer square so that it doesn't roll off my desk/table!

So impressed! I feel silly spending money on Mac and Nars lipsticks when this is so excellent. Thanks for the recommendations, MUA. It was on sale for under $10 CDN at the local Loblaws, which is a bargain. It's non-drying, long-lasting, smooth, feels light and does not settle into lines like Nars. The shade is a flattering mid-toned pinky mauve that looks fresh with my pale skin and dark hair. It's a pop of subtle brightness without being garish or obvious. Highly recommend, looking forward to picking up Plumalicious. Really, with cheap drugstore/grocery store lipsticks like this, I have no reason to spend money on pricey ones.

This is such a good quality lipstick! The formula is just amaaazing and I find it a much richer texture than my MAC lipsticks. The creamy, satiny finish shows up nicely on the lips (it has no shimmer, but it gives an ever so slight glossiness...i'd say its more like a velvety finish). it has quite an opaque, full coverage and amazing pigmentation.

I don't want to go into a color description because i know i'll suck at it, but all I will say is its a great color for fall and I feel this color would flatter pretty much any skin tone...

It has a decent lasting power, but I do feel it would be little better....on me it lasts about 3 hours w/o eating drinking, which is actually pretty decent for me...while fading, it does leave a slight stain which will last much longer and it actually looks like a really pretty and healthy flush of color....

I recommend this lipstick to EVERYONE..I dont care who you are...go buy this...

PS: it also work really nicely as a blush albeit with a lesser staying power....

I found this shade at Ulta, but I have never seen it in other Revlon displays or on their shelves. I've been looking for something different from the classic berry or wine for the fall season and this is it. Someone below mentioned it's like a Marion Cotillard shade, and I agree! I've always loved her lipsticks but could never find the exact shade. She sometimes wears this mauve that has a toe on the line between pink, berry, and mauve. Normally it's something expensive from Dior, but I'm glad I found this from Revlon. It's really flattering with fair or light skin. I love it so much that I just checked their website to make sure it's still permanent, and it is.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet as I am on my third tube of this lipstick!

Clearly, this is my go-to everyday color: a cool mauve, a little plummy. No shimmer. Pretty good lasting power on me: stays on through drinking water or tea but must re-apply after a meal. It is also a good base color for me. For example, I sometimes apply a light coat of this with a brighter red over it. It tones down the red while allowing the tint to shine through, if that makes sense.

Not the moistest formulation--I put some balm over it (I use Paula's Choice lip balm, but even Chapstick works). If you like shimmer, a shimmery gloss works well, too.

For me, it looks polished (MLBB, but not quite as natural a look as MLBB implies!)

After seeing Midnight in Paris, I went to CVS to find a dupe for Marion Cotillard's ultra-vampy Jazz Age lipstick: dark mauve with a hint of purple, perfect with a smoky eye. I took a chance on Mauvy Night, and it turned out to be a lovely dark berry shade with, yes, some purple undertones. Most of the Revlon lipsticks I've tried have good formulas (with the exception of Stormy Pink, ugh), but Mauvy Night's formula is beyond good. Creamy, moisturizing, long-lasting ... I can't praise it enough. Use a thin layer for a berry-colored stain, or a normal layer for 1920s-style glamour. Mauvy Night is too dark to wear much during the summer, but I anticipate using it often in the fall and winter!

I've been on a lipstick binge the last few months, so I've been trying out all sorts of different brands and colors, and this is probably my favorite buy out of all of my recent purchases. I'm cool-toned, and this looks natural but elegant. It doesn't look purple, but it is wine: just deep and lovely. I've already decided upon wearing this when I graduate from college soon! Classy and nice in pictures :)

Revlon's Super Lustrous are fantastic quality lipsticks, and I have many! Mauvy Night is one of my favourites: a deep mauve that looks elegant, without too much blue or spilling into goth territory. Reflects colour in the cheeks and really brightens the face without overtaking. Definitely for cooler tones.

Great, deep mauve color that looks wonderful with downplayed eyes and simple cheeks. Stays on beautifully, moisturizing, and NO LEAD (unlike any L'oreal lipcolors). Will repurchase. I typically use this for ngihttime looks b/c I have blonde hair and am fair skinned.

This is a very pretty deep mauve, but applied full strength, it's just too deep for me. This would probably look lovely with dark hair.

Mauvy Night is a beautiful plummy-pink color. Quite a cool yet bright color. This range of lipsticks are quite moist and satiny. One of the best lipsticks I've ever tried. 5 lippies. :)

Great dark mauve. Goes on creamy, stays put for several hours. I'm more into bright colors now, so I won't be buying this again.

In general, I have been very impressed with Revlon's reformulated Super Lustrous Lipstick, particularly the creams. I too, remember the often unpleasant smell and taste of the old formula (the reason I stopped purchasing Revlon years ago), and these are conspicuously-- and rapturously-- absent!

I decided to try SL again when I saw a co-worker re-applying her favorite shade, and noticed the new tube design. We bemoaned the previous shortcomings of the product, and she said the formula had been greatly improved and to try it for myself, so I went out and bought a tube, Mauvy Night if I remember correctly. I know it was cream shade, and it was love!

Absolutely one of my favorite colors, EVER! I bought this to replace a favorite shade of Avon lipstick (Lyrical Lilac) that was discontinued just in time for their own re-branding and didn't make the cut. The new Revlon formula is superior anyway, and the color is a dead-on match!

Mauvy Night is a mid-tone plummy mauve in a cream finish. It provides just enough color and perfectly compliments the cool make up colors I tend to favor as a NW20 PPP with chestnut hair and grey-green eyes. It's fabulous with Avon Glimmersticks lipliner in Mystery Mauve. I will definitely repurchase; in fact, I already have a back up.

Sassy Mauve is a nice alternative for something lighter and a bit more pink.

Though I do prefer the creams by far, all of the finishes offer superior quality to any d/s brand I've tried. They are long lasting, moisturizing but never slimy, and provide excellent pigmentation. It's very easy to build up color to the desired level of opacity, and they layer beautifully with glosses or other lipsticks. As far as packaging, I appreciate Revlon's decision to add a see-through top to the tube, allowing one to evaluate the actual shade (hopefully, they will improve on the rack swatches soon!)

I love, love, love this lipstick! I just stumbled across it one day in the drug store and I am so glad that I did. It is a darker, plummy mauve. The texture of the lipstick is impressive and amazing! So smooth and creamy! It has excellent staying power, with little to no scent, which surprises me because I always remember the scent of Raven Red that I wore years ago. It matches MAC Plum liner prefectly. I am in love!

I usually wear dept store lipstick, but i really don't know the difference with low and high end brands. especially after trying revlon's superlustrous in mauvy night. I picked this up on sale for around 4-5 bucks along with goldpearl plum (which i also adore), after returning the very drying and unflattering MAC Viva Glam IV, and am so glad i did. Mauvy Night is in the creme formulation which i prefer, it is moisturizing, has no taste and lasts quite awhile. i am very pleasantly surprised. mauvy night is a pinkish purply muave color--hard for me to describe. it came out darker than i thought it would, and seems to be a more muted shade of club monaco's "dream" which is now discontinued since the whole club monaco cosmetics line is. i was very happy to find this as my club monaco dream was running low and is one of my favorite shades. if you don't like this color, at least try revlon superlustrous lipsticks--worth the 4-5 dollars i paid.
