I bought a tube of Kerasal a few weeks ago out of pure desperation. My usual foot saver, Flexitol, was out of stock but my feet were dry as the Sahara so I took a chance. I probably should have waited until Flexitol was back in stock because this ointment was just a waste of time and money for me.

First, ointments are generally icky to me. They remind me of my childhood and the times when my dad would slather a random ointment on whatever owie I had. Even as a child, I couldn't stand the greasy feeling and the fact that ointments attract every piece of fuzz and lint on the planet. Also, they just feel wrong on dry skin to me - kind of like nails on a chalk board. Just cringe inducing. Nonetheless, I slathered this on my dry feet hoping for the best. As this is greasy, I couldn't just wait for it to absorb into my skin and go to bed like I can with Flexitol. I had to wear socks to bed which I hate. I could put up with that annoyance if this worked but after using this for about two weeks, I've noticed no difference. My feet are still pretty dry and still have that skin that catches every conceivable piece of fabric which makes the whole ointment/sock routine a waste of time.

Like another reviewer said, this is also a pain to put on. As soon as you set the tube down to rub the ointment in, it starts oozing from the tube. There's also the must-wash-your-hands-after-applying factor but that's pretty minor in the grand scheme of things if a product works. Since this doesn't, it's annoying. Oddly (or maybe not so oddly if you can get this to work for you), Kerasal is about $5 more than my beloved Flexitol. Call me crazy but I'd rather pay less for something that works than more for something than doesn't do jack.

Most of the reviews here are positive which means this obviously works for some people but for me, this was just a bust. I'd recommend plain ol' Vaseline before this. I still have quite a bit left but, thankfully, my local Wal-Mart finally(!) restocked Flexitol so I'll likely toss the remainder of my tube of Kerasal. It pains me to throw a large amount of product out (even if it's terrible) but I just can't with this junk.

After using a whole tube of this mostly every night before bed and wearing socks, it has not really done much of anything. Disappointing. I thought it would work much better. I also don't like that it's an ointment, which leaves my hands feeling greasy and like I have to wash them after applying this to my feet. Plus, if you don't recap the tube immediately, the ointment starts oozing out, so by the time you get to your second foot, it's already coming out of the tube and it's oily so will stain fabrics. Not worth it. A good cream would be so much better.

If you have dry, cracked feet, don't let the price scare you. I tried everything before Kerasal: pumice stones, scrubs, foot lotions, Vaseline, and nothing worked. My feet remained rough and full of calluses. Kerasal, at night, every night for a week, followed by a week of Bag Balm (socks on after you put either on your feet), and you'll have the most amazing, soft, non-flaky, callus-free feet. After a week, I use Kerasal once a week, and Bag Balm once a week, and my feet stay in fine shape.

This is a great exfoliating/moisturizing foot ointment! I've been using it daily for 2 months and my feet have never been softer. I am on my feet all day, so I develop calluses on my feet when I don't use this product. I use this in conjunction with the Tweezerman Pedro Callus stone in the shower daily and professional pedicures every 6 weeks and my feet have never looked better. The tube seems expensive for the size, but I use just a pea size drop of ointment for each foot, so a tube lasts for a few months.

Amazing - this stuff does wonders for my feet. I am constantly in sandals or bare feet during the summer and I use this at night to keep my feet in "show" quality. This won't help you much if you have peeling scaly feet due to a fungal problem which was my original issue (gross, I know) and why nothing designed to help dry feet would help. Now that that's gone, this stuff is amazing. It's also great to help calm down KP (keratosis pilaris or "chicken skin" on arms/legs). Bonus: Dollar General makes a generic product with the same ingredients, a bigger tube, and at half the price so you can slather it on with reckless abandon!

Is Kerasal still a bit of a secret? I can't believe there are only 18 reviews!

I love this product. Before I started using it, I had cracks in my heels and substantial calluses on my toes. Now, the cracks are gone and the calluses are greatly diminished.

The product contains a mixture of Urea (draws in moisture), salicylic acid (exfoliates), and petrolatum (seals in moisture). The combo has given me lovelier feet than I imagined.

The tube is small, but you only need a bit of it. I also found a BOGO at Walgreens, which cut down on the cost. I would imagine you can find it on sale fairly often.

My feet were so embarrassingly dry before I started using this. I had rough dry patches of peely skin on my heels, and some on the balls of my feet and toes. I wouldn't even let my husband touch my feet. I could feel the dry skin snag on certain kinds of fabrics (eww!). I've tried slathering on plain old body lotion, but it wasn't doing much, so I knew I needed something more intensive.


I heard about this foot ointment on MUA. It got really good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I got the 15g tube on eBay for only a few dollars.


It is odorless and colorless. The consistency almost reminds me of the Aquaphor ointment. It does feel rich and thick. What I love about this ointment is that it is a combination of both exfoliation and moisturizing therapy. It works as a chemical exfoliant and a moisturizer, so there's really no need for me to scrub my heels that often.


When I started using this, I applied it twice a day; once in the morning and again right before bed. I find that it works best when you put socks on afterward to help lock in moisture. Even more so when you do this at bedtime since the skin is more absorbent when you sleep.


I noticed great results within the first few days of use. I love touching my feet and rubbing them together. I don't get that uncomfortable scratchy sensation anymore. The skin looks so much healthier. HG status for sure. A new staple to my daily routine! Highly recommended.

Must have for winter (and summer) to keep your feet smooth and good-looking. Regular lotions don't work as well. This is very good stuff; your feet will be back to perfection in 2 days. I use this maybe once or twice a month if I am wearing sandals or going barefoot around the house.

Well, I need to take out stock in the Kerasal company, whoever they are.

I use a lot of this ointment. It has salicylic acid and urea in it.

Once upon a time, my feet were so ugly.... how ugly were they? I was afraid to go for pedicures for fear they would laugh me out of the building. My calluses had calluses. I tried lots of creams - - including expensive Sephora foot creams from places like Bliss and DDF. I wore socks to bed with those creams. I tried the Neutrogena creams. I tried Vaseline. I didn't try Aquaphor, though (?!). I braved the nail salons and went for WEEKLY pedicures and paid extra for weekly callus removal. Two months later, my toenails looked great but I still had gnarly feet!!!!

Finally - - the solution came. Diamoncel Callus Rasp #20!
It took a full day of rasping on my feet to get the bulk of the dead skin off. Hey - - there was nice skin under all of that reptilian layering! Weekly sessions with the rasp made even the nail salon workers impressed. However, my feet were still a little dry, hard, and callus prone.

I started and finished many creams. The best one I found was the Kerasal Exfoliating Ointment. It has salicylic acid and urea to help soften and sanitize the foot skin.

My foot care regime has remained unchanged for months now, and my feet are enviously baby soft.

This is what I do: Every night I massage my feet with a pumice scrub (H20 or Kerasal brand, for example) for about 45 seconds in the shower. Then, I use the Mr. Pumice Purple Stone and scrub each foot another 45 seconds. After rinsing and after my shower, I apply generous amounts of Kerasal to my feet and put socks on for about 20 minutes. Socks come off and its bedtime.

I haven't needed callus rasps for months now, and I don't bother with salon pedicures anymore. I do a better job at home.

The only downside is that my Kerasal ointment habit costs me about $21-$28 a month since I blow through a typical tube in about 10 days, sometimes a week if I am too liberal with it.
However, I save $$$$ overall since I am not going to the salon for pedicures.

What a pleasure to have feet that are fun to show off and that don't snag the sheets at bedtime!

I bought a small tube of this since my winter feet are looking their worst ever, cracking heels and a few dry patches/calluses on my toes, pretty, I know....
I've used it probably 3 times a week for the past couple of weeks and the cracks in my heels are GONE and the calluses are pretty much peeling off.
The ointment is thick so I've only been using it at night with a pair of cotton socks on.
I highly recommend Kerasal and I will definitely buy more when I run out.

Not impressed, actually. Disappointed, really, because I had such high expectations! My mom had received a sample, so I tried it a couple times and it seemed to help, so I bought a whole tube -- which, by the way, is rather pricey for the size! The box is much bigger than the tube it contains, so I felt a bit swindled, but I just KNEW this was going to help my feet because once it gets hot, I'm barefoot or in sandals.
And so, alas.... I have been using it daily now for over a week and this stuff really makes my feet feel soft - WHEN I AM SITTING WITH MY FEET UP AFTER I HAVE JUST APPLIED THE OINTMENT - but otherwise, my feet are in the same shape as before.
I don't really have cracks, just a bit firm in the heel because of sandals and going barefoot. I think I'll try Flexitol; that seems to be getting better reviews. I gave it a 3, not a 2 because I do know that Kerasal actually does work very very well for so many.
So, no, I won't be repurchasing.

This stuff is THE best for dry, cracked heels. The only caveat* you must do it daily. My feet are a horror show after winter, and since you can't see them, I am very bad at putting lotion on them. Come summer, after using this daily or twice daily, I am definately ready for sandals. I use it all summer, at least every other day or more...best when you can put socks on until it is thouroughly absorbed.
By the way....I asked a podiatrist I work with about recommendations, and he said this is great because of the exfoliators in it (salycilates and urea?) are needed to get rid of the dead skin.

A bit pricey, but effective. The consistency is just like petroleum jelly, but there's some ingredient in this product (the urea? salicylic acid?) that makes it way more effective than plain ol' Vaseline. Whenever my feet start looking roughed up, I'll go over them with my Microplane and then use this with cotton socks for a few nights. This combination leaves my feet in sandal-ready condition. For maintenance, I use this ointment once or twice a week (always with socks); used this way, the tube has lasted months.

I bought a small tube of this and I couldn't been happier. It realy does help with dry and scaly feet, especially after the summer when I've been walking bare foot around the house. I put a qauter amount on each foot and sleep in socks overnight. The next morning my feet are soft and the scaly patches are gone.

I must be on my 6th or 7th tube of this stuff. If I could give this a 10 rating I would. I love it!! I have used every foot cream on the market (no really I have) and this is the best. It's nothing short of a miracle worker and I will never be without it.

This stuff work miracles. My feet were a nightmare from being barefoot/in flip-flops all of the time. I used this stuff morning and night for about 10 days and all is well now. My feet are smoother than ever and I only need to apply this 1-2 times per week now to keep the results. Fantastic--a must get for scary feet.

It says it's for "dry, scaly feet," while my feet aren't exactly scaly, they were quite dry, esp at the heel & tips of my toes. I rub this on at night and put some socks on and my feet are much softer & my cracked heels were healed in 3 days. I like to leave this on my hands for a few minutes before washing it off and it has soften my hands considerably, even the callus on my finger. The petrolatum-based water soluble ointment washes off easily as well.
