Glow stands alone from its Softlight sisters because it is practically matte and very high in pigment, especially when compared with the regular line of Softlights.
However, I place Glow in the ‘satin’ finish category for the fact that it still imparts a gorgeous healthy glow with minimal effort, it doesn’t look chalky or dull as many matte products can. Glow is a deep peach colour that could possibly pass as a bronzer and really perks up pale skin.
It’s perfect on cheeks, nose and forehead with another of the lighter and more shimmering Softlights on the apples of your cheeks for extra radiance! (Try pairing with Tint or Lens!)

I like it, but I don't love it. I received this in a swap, and even though it is now discontinued I am going to review it anyways because I have nothing else to do.
First of all, like everyone else, I hate the packaging. I know I am going to drop it one day and there will be all that good blush down the drain! They must start making flip top packages! I could not care less about a mirror. I have a darling little Anna Sui that I love to pull out for such occasions. The screw top is annoying as can be.
When I first looked at it I was unimpressed. I put it beside my other blushes, and realized that they all looked the same. I had Mac Peachykeen, Springsheen, Physician's Formula Natural Glow and Elizabeth Arden Terrarose and now Smashbox Glow and they could all be easily described as "peachy" or "earthy." Even my Tenderling looked similar! I thought, Oops! I tried it with my Mac blush brush, which picked up a lot of product and it looked awful. I almost put it up for swap right away. I am so glad I tried it with another brush. It's all about the hardware sometimes. Oddly enough, using it with my $5 Walmart brush made it look stunningly beautiful!
After I tried it on I saw the differences. Glow has a bit of an earthy red undertone, but in a good way. I have very fair skin (NC 15/20) and must use a sparsely bristled blush brush for this product as the blush is picked up very easily. When applied Glow gives cheeks a flush not dissimilar to the look one gets coming inside from the cool outdoors, or from working out, or dare I say it, from......I won't say it, but you know! So, it's aptly named. It's not pink though by any means. I wore it today with gold eyeshadow, something I have never been able to do and it looked lovely. It goes nicely with neutrals, but I would not attempt it with cool shades. The closest Mac match might be Margin or Peachykeen, without any frost or shimmer. Still, it's more fresh and natural looking than either one. It's the kind of shade that will work well throughout the year and on women of many different ages and races. It screams healthy and is the kind of shade you see on TV characters a lot.
Glow has no shimmer, unlike other Soft Lights, but it does seem to leave a sheen, which makes my skin look healthy. It lasts all day and night and I never have to reapply. And, as much as we complain about the packaging, we really do get a lot of bang for our buck and so I expect this to last for a long time. If I could, I would repurchase, but since I cannot I will purchase another Soft Lights shade as there are many to choose from. I'm jonzeing for Lens!

This came in as a gift set. I've always wanted to try the Softlights as the jumbo pans of light, luminous colors look so pretty. The description for softlights says that this product is for overall color and luminance for face and body. This is a soft peachy apricot color that I find very similar to BeneFit's Georgia Peach blush, which means that on my skin, this hardly shows up. There is significantly less shimmer than the other softlights I've tried, it is relatively matte, so I can't really imagine using this as an overall glow for my shoulders or something, but it is ok as a blush. Like I said, the color hardly shows up on my face so I have to really layer it on. But during the winter months when my skin is more pale it gives a soft flush to the cheeks that looks pretty. Otherwise it is hard to find a good use for this product.

"Would you buy this product again?" Yes, this is my 2nd Smashing Glow. :)Smashing Glow is a light-to-almost-medium matte pinky/peach tan. It's a mix between a blush and a light bronzer. LOTS of pigment lifts when brushed and the color is buildable. I'd recommend this for anyone who has sallow skin that needs a lift. Just brush this lightly like you would a bronzer and you'll have healthy color without looking bronzer orange. I prefer using a powder brush with this because it's less dense than a bronzer brush, and I can control the amount applied. A denser blush brush will make this work as a blush, and when used so it pairs perfectly with warm pinks, bronzes and warm reds.Because it doesn't have shimmer, this can be paired with other cheek colors without shimmer overkill.

I am not sure where i am supposed to list this product. The SoftLights are marketed as an allover powder for face and body, to add color and/or shimmer. they come in a huge large pot with clear twist off lid and retail for $26. It seems kinda steep for the price, but the pot is pretty big. There are several colors including Lens, Tint, Shimmer, Prism, Halo, Highlight, Luminance, and Glow. Smashing Glow is a soft pinky peach nude shade. Its very natural. I dont like it as a highlighter cause theres no shimmer and its too dark. Works well as a blush on my NC30 skintone but i really had to layer it. Lasted all day. What I really like this for is all over the face. Kinda like the MAC beauty powders. A light dusting of Glow all over gives my sallow skin a hint of color without looking too powdery or orange. A little extra dab on the apples and I am ready to go. Great all over! Great for everyday. no breakouts either.
