This colour is amazing! Its a bright royal blue with some shimmer. I was very impressed with the pigmentation. It was such a fresh change in my everyday makeup routine!

I am completely in love with this eyeliner. My eyes are hazel, leaning a bit more towards green. I never thought that a royal blue liner would look good on me. From a distance, you almost can't even tell that this is blue, it looks almost black. I like that it's unexpected and fun but doesn't look over the top. I usually wear this with a nude lid or with a medium brown which turns it more navy and looks very nice. This lasts all day, even on my super oily lids and it doesn't fade or flake at all. I am very glad that I purchased this and if mine ever runs out or dries up I will absolutely repurchase it. This is one of my favorite liners EVER.

I bought this from MECCA store in town & I love it to bits. It doesn't sting my eyelids (I have rather sensitive lids) and last a long time.
Must be quick to use as it does dry quick, which mean you also gotta make sure the lid is on properly when finished otherwise you have dried up eyeliner (a little bit of water may resurrect it if you're lucky).
However, the price was a little ridiculous as well for the packaging. Why aren't there smaller sizes? I paid $42AU for mine & it saved me like $4 from eBay/other sites but seriously? Smaller packaging would be better for someone like me who doesn't use make up every day/night.

So I was really excited to try this gorgeous color-it was the very shade I had hoped Buxom Bulldog would be. I used UDPP underneath and my Buxom cream shadow brush to apply. Again the color is fabulous but the cream started pilling and flaking on my eyelid within minutes of putting it on. I had no time to change anything before work and really didn't think about it again until about 3 hours later when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I looked diseased, and no in a cool gothabilly intentional way. I had blue flakes drifting below my eyelid in a triangular arrangement. I was aghast I had been running around looking like this and no one had told me! I need to know I can trust my makeup not to malfunction in this manner. Never again. Shame that because it is a lovely color.

This is a great color and formulation for someone who is into brights, or just wants a small pop of color.
pros-has amazing glide
- has small silver particles which help capture light
- very bold and pigmented deep blue.
- screw top glass jar
- does not dry out quickly
- is quick drying once its on the skin
- is long lasting
- you get a ton of product
cons-
- large amount of product can dry out without normal usage
- dries quickly on skin, must work fast
I have used this as a base for shadows and its not entirely ideal, but does the job. I adore this for liner and blended out as a shadow itself.

I am a huge fan of Stila smudge pots. They last forever and a little goes a long way. Therefore, I can justify paying $20 USD. I have been using black and brown eyeliner since high school, so I wanted to switch thing up a bit with a blue liner. I'm so glad I did! This shade brightens my eyes, but not too bold either. I find that you really have to look to see that it is a blue, and not a typical black or brown liner. Lasts all day and I have no problem with smudging at all. HG and I will definitley repurchase.

This is a beautiful blue, soft and easy to apply like all the smudge pots...
I use Stila brush # 28 with this to tighline and line upper lash line.

BOY THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!!!
I love love love it!!!! I hope they never discontinue it.
none of the pics I've seen does justice to the girl.
If you can try it out at a store near your home - apply some on the hand and twist the hand in artificial bright light, or - even better- sunlight. the colour will go from very dark marine blue (which it looks like in the pot when you look down upon it) to an indescribable mid-metallic blue.
It is gorgeous. Stays on well, goes on well. Lovely.
Will I purchase again? HEEEELL, yeah!

I own many Smudge Pots:
-the trio of minis in Gray (a true dark grey), Black (true, intense black) and Bronze (a shimmery brown without orangey or red tones)
-Cobalt (a darker blue, not quite navy, with a sheen)
-Cobalt Clutch (a vibrant primary blue with shimmer)
-Jade (a lovely olivey green with a sheen)
I use my Ecotools angled eyeliner brush with these, and they work great.
PROS: Great creamy texture (not too firm or not soft). Very highly pigmented (although Cobalt Clutch and Purple Pumps are less so). Lasts all day without flaking or smudging, even on my lower lash line AND on my waterline! Can be used to make precise lines or can be smudged out when still "wet." Sturdy packaging. Gorgeous colors.
CONS: A bit expensive. More product than you can use before it dries up. (Although none of mine have dried out at all, and I've had the minis for almost a year! Even if I use up only half of the product, it'll have been worth the $20 for this product--you get more product and applications than you would for some $20 eye pencil, and I have yet to find a pencil or any other liner product that I love as much as these, besides MAC Fluidlines!)
Overall, these are HG products for me. (I actually purchased a backup of Cobalt when it was on clearance at SiJCP, because I'd be so upset if it was DC'd!!) I absolutely love the pigmentation, the texture, the lasting power, and the colors. I hope they don't discontinue any of these great colors, and they they do keep adding to the line!

I bought this one because I wanted a "true" blue gel liner. I have the Waveline from MAC but it honestly looks more purple than blue. Same with the Indigo Blue gel liner from Coastal Scents.
Anyways, I love this liner! It is super vibrant by itself but it makes the most amazing base for my blue MAC eyeshadows like Moon's Reflection or Freshwater. So pretty and I'm glad I purchased this.

I bought this because it was used in the promo pic for Stila. Upon trying this as an eyeliner I realized that they must have (of course) enhanced the picture, making the eyeliner seem sooo much brighter. It looked like a bright royal blue to me in the picture. I'm not saying that this isn't a nice, dark, shimmery blue eyeliner, but it just wasn't what I thought it was going to be.

The picture posted here is VERY misleading. If you go to Sephora and take a look, the Cobalt is actually a very vibrant metallic blue. Out of the three Sheen smudgepot colors (not including limited edition Pomagranate) Cobalt is probably the most shimmery one that shows up the best.
I'm honestly rather in love with this, and if it's not for the fact that I have twenty bajillion other liners that i need to use up before they go dry/bad, i would definitely snatch this up with the Stila 40% (which today is the last day of actually).
I used this on a rather dark/black/dark blue eyeshadow. It showed up brilliantly. what i found interesting was that if i just open my eyes normally and if you're not noticing, then it looks dark enough to be black. but then in certain light, or if i'm looking down, it literally flashes blue. VERY cool for a night out, but still dark enough for going to work/every day if I want to. In fact when I wore this, the SA at Urban Decay counter in Macy kept complimenting me (though afterwards she pulled out UD's version of the cobalt liquid liner lol). My coworker also thought it was uber awesome, and actually bought it online.
I think i'm just very in love with the fact that it shows up as the color it looks like in the pot/advertised to be. The Jade and Bronze both didn't show up as well, and did not look as brilliant as they did in the pot.
As for the consistency of the smudgepots, it seems much softer/creamer than BB's gel liner (but I could be wrong, as toward the end of my BB gel liner days the stuff was quite hard/dried in the pot). Unfortunately I also had to redip into the pot/sample quite a few times just to get it onto my lid and look like the proper color. Not sure if it's because i'm applying over eyeshadow, but application was definitely more difficult/takes longer than with my BB liner. however, the cobalt blue still was easier to apply (and see) than the Bronze or the Jade.
once i'm done using some of my other liners (and feel more justified in buying more makeup), i'm definitely going to pick this one up. :D

This is the blue that changed my mind about blues forever. It is the most flattering dark blue eyeliner I have. I wear this way more than black eyeliner because it makes my green/hazel eyes really pop. When I line both lids with this, it makes my eyes seem so clear and huge. I'm a bit afraid of Stila pulling out of Sephora in Greece, so I will stock up!

I really liked this product for a few months. The blue was gorgeous, it applied smoothly, it stayed put. But then it dried out. It's weird, since I have the black Smudge Pot as well, and that one is still as creamy as the day I bought it. I think next time I'll try a MAC Fluidline which seems to have a reputation of not drying out for a long time. I wouldn't buy this one again, but I do recommend the black version.
EDIT: I tried a glycerin/water mix instead of Visine and it revived it. I still wouldn't buy it again, but I'm giving it an extra lippie because at least it's revivable!

I've used this for about a week and am impressed with the gorgeous blue that makes the whites of my eyes look whiter. The liner sets and truly does not budge until I remove it. I haven't noticed any crumbling or flaking tendencies and I have very sensitive eyes. Will revisit this rating if the product begins to dry out in the pot prematurely.
NC 15, with hazel green eyes.

This product is amazing. I have 2 of Stila's smudge pots (cobalt and black), and use one, or both of them, everyday. I find them to be very versatile. For daytime I use them with a liner brush to get the liquid eyeliner look and find these so much easier/user friendly than any liquid liner I've tried. I also used them at night for the smokey eye look. One applied, this product will not budge! That's why I really love these, they last all day and night. I even feel asleep in my makeup once (ew!) and this stuff was flawless when I woke up the next day! This color, cobalt, is a very intense royal to dark blue, amazing on my green eyes! I get compliments on it all the time. I said that I would repurchase this, but I don't think I will have to anytime soon, there is a very generous amount in the pot (at least for the way I use it), and at $18 this is priced very well.

I love this eyeliner. Its a true cool blue that looks amazing on my NC45 skin. The blue really makes my brown eyes pop.Smudge pots tend to be just a little drier than other gel eyeliners, but that's what i love about them, because this allows me more control as i'm super klutzy. It goes on smooth and lasts till I want to take it off. This is my 3rd smudge pot and i'm probably going to get them all.

I am so frustrated by this product. In the pot, it's a beautiful shimmery medium-dark blue. It's really lovely and no other brand has a color that comes even close. However, I've had trouble with the texture. I ordered one from Sephora and when it arrived it was very dry and hard. It crumbled when I tried to apply it. I brought it to Sephora and they said it was dried out, so I exchanged it for another. And lo and behold, same issue with the new one. I've never had this problem with fluidlines before, or even with Stila Smudge Pots in black (although the texture is thicker than fluidlines). It is such a trial to apply, it takes forever to get a completely line and then I have to top it off with mixing medium to bring back the shine. I want to love this, but can't. I'm going back to fluidlines.

I don't like smudge pots. They're very messy. Stila's especially. Plus the pot is very un-hygienic and because of the screw-cap design it dries out very quickly (and yes, I do close it tightly like they said). I was very disappointed with these things. =[

I've got most of Stila's smudge pot colours, and this is the only one that doesn't live up to the standard. You need a couple of layers of it to get the true Cobalt colour in the pot, and the staying power isn't as good - I notice it fades (the line'll still be there, but the colour washes out). Also the blue isn't nearly as versatile as the other shades in the range.
