When I met my boyfriend he had big dandruff problems, and not even special shampoos helped. On top of that he also seemed to loose quite a lot of hair - there was always 3-6 hairs on his shoulders. I thought the problem might have been both because of the dandruff and because the other shampoos he had used might have been "too strong". He used this for about 3 month before the dandruff went away, and he also stopped loosing hair.
.
Remember, I'm talking about a GUY using this. He has short hair. This shampoo makes his hair fluffy, yet manageable. I would definitely recommend this to guys, as long as they don't mind the melon smell :P

Why oh why did I bought this shampoo. I have very sensitive scalp with SD sometimes. I hoped the pyrithione zinc would be good to solve my problems with dermatitis and scalp acne.
I haven't used shampoo with silicones for years and now I know why, this is so loaded with silicones, that it makes my hair very coated, flat and limp.
Besides that my scalp becomes very itchy, the shampoo is loaded with sulfates (even sodium lauryl sulfate!), it think that's why.
Will not use and buy again.

The absolute best for my sensitive scalp. It's the only shampoo I've tried which effectively removes dandruff, keeps my hair oil-free (for up to 3 days!) and doesn't irritate my skin. Thankfully, it's also the cheapest one I've used. Of course that means it's full of baddies like SLS, alcohol and mineral oil, but when it works this well I just can't bring myself to care.
The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is due to its colour-stripping powers - my dyed hair fades very quickly when using this :(

This product worked great for me when I started realizing that my hair was too thick and too dry to be washed every single day, so I stopped and began washing it 2-3 times a week. My oily scalp did not react well to this, and began itching and flaking like crazy. This was the first shampoo to stop the irritation, it worked the first time I used it. However I did use the 2 in 1, not the plain shampoo, because I found that this alone was drying enough to my hair. Also works well to remove any oils/build up in your scalp.

This is the best shampoo that i've used yet. My hair was falling out so badly, but this was the only shampoo in the Head & Shoulder line that helped controlled it. It's also quite moisturizing so i sometimes don't use conditioner afterwards. Not to mention that it took care of my dandruff/dry scalp problem. LOVE IT.

I don't use the 2 in 1, ever, for any brand, because like others have said, it causes build up - not worth saving the 2 minutes to me. I never have had build up using this shampoo alone. I also use H&S conditioner but the smooth and silky one..
My scalp, very reactive to anything, has a scab that won't heal even though I try different things, I have even tried baking soda and vinegar because I have been trying to go all natural. Not so easy, I didn't realize till after trying to wash my hair with baking soda which made my hair fall out?? how much H&S is my HG.
I hadn't dyed my hair for 3 years up until last month, and my hair has always faded quickly so I'm not sure if the shampoo will even make a difference. My hair is super long and thin strands but lots of it and I rarely get it cut but that's just because I don't have split ends, not sure if that's because of Head and Shoulders but I've been using it for years. Well besides the random impulse buy of other shampoos and I still come back to Head & Shoulders.
My BF used to use anything on his hair even Fructis (which I hate for my scalp) but after trying H&S he won't use anything else! The other shampoos just sit there in case we run out of this stuff which works awesome. I think it is expensive like everything else when it's not on sale but if I get the P&G brand saver coupon I can get it for 3$ a bottle at the drugstore or Safeway.
I took a lippie off because of how P&G does animal testing, which I didn't know up until a couple of months ago.. another reason I tried to go all natural. Alas I am back to using H&S. The ingredients I don't understand are also another reason for the 4 lippies, but I love the smell of it!
Update - Okay used it a couple times - made my hair soo greasy the same day it was as if I hadn't rinsed the conditioner out - which I did.

I've been using this shampoo for years, its been the only anti dandruff shampoo for me that actually works, plus when my scalp starts getting itchy this relieves it. I use it almost every night and if I switch to another shampoo I start getting little flakes again so this is definitely a staple for me. Its also reasonably priced and is in most stores so easy to find to. Took one lippie off though because it does lighten hair colours quickly.

I have an itchy, flaky, sensitive scalp and it is hard to find a good shampoo that doesn't exacerbate my problems. I bought this based on the reviews here, and I am not disappointed! I've tried H&S shampoos in the past, but they were drying and didn't work so well on keeping the flakes away. I've used this twice, and so far my scalp is 99% itch and flake free! It's not drying, and smells quite pleasant. So happy to have bought this!! Especially the price, as it was on sale for a large size at Shoppers for $6.99.

I'm a redhead - so I have sensitive skin, but this doesn't cause much irritation to my scalp at all. My scalp does hurt after I take out my pony tail, then again I've been using this shampoo everyday so it is to be expected. It got rid of all my dandruff and added a LOT of volume to my hair. My hair has more body, is softer, and shinier. This shampoo has, ironically, also cleared up majority of my bacne. This is definitely an amazing shampoo and I'm so glad I found this product.

This is now my go-to shampoo! It soothes my scalp and takes great care of my weird combination hair.
My hair easily gets oily, but there are also patches on my scalp which get dry and flaky.... H&S takes care of both problems and gives my hair a great clean feeling ^____^

The only product used that doesnt cause me any itchiness or such. It's really great for cleaning my hair and scalp, and makes my hair soft, lustrous in fact since i got such a thick mane. ^^
**update June 2010. still using this shampoo...does not itch and is still going great~!

I got this as a sample in the mail. For the record I have dry damaged hair.
Works amazing, cleaned my hair very well and I didn't need much for my medium length hair! Left my hair feeling soft and not dry. I still used conditioner but this really did a great job of getting all the dirt out of my hair.
I will buy this again! :)

Wow, this is a diamond in the rough! I have a sensitive scalp that is prone to breakouts...breakouts from products, the environment, and hormonal breakouts. I liked that this is Ph balanced and gentle for everyday use and color treated hair (although I have not colored my hair in months, so I do not know how it really is on color treated hair). The shampoo and conditioner and great and really leave my hair nice and shiney. My hair is pretty healthy and many products dry it out and this does not. My scalp has had less breakouts as well. I highly recommend this for those looking for something to sooth their scalp. I tried many $$$$ brands that were supposed to help sensitive scalps and they did nothing except dry out my hair.

I picked up this product not for the anti-dandruff, but for the "sensitive care" claim, and I was pleasantly surprised. My hair feels clean, plain and simple with no irritation. I've also noticed that I lose less hair in the shower as opposed to when I use Herbal Essences.

I tried this because I am a new mom and have little time to shower. My previous shampoos were not getting my hair clean enough to skip a day of washing, but when I used my husband's Head and Shoulders (the one for normal hair) I noticed my hair felt clean longer. I bought the Sensitive Care after reading reviews here. I think this is a wonderful shampoo. I don't have dandruff but my scalp is sometimes sensitive. With this shampoo I can skip a day, sometimes 2, and since it is a 2 in 1 I can be in and out of the shower in no time. The scent is pleasant too. I only gave it a 4 because the conditioning qualities of this shampoo/conditioner are not quite enough for my thick hair, although it does a better job than most combos.

I first tried this shampoo a few weeks ago (almost a month ago, I think?) and I think I like it! I have had a positive experience with another one of H&S's shampoos ( the "Ocean Lift" one), but I had been curious about this Sensitive Care one for a little while. Some of the reviews for this were a little worrisome for me at first, so I wasn't sure how I would like this. I was afraid that it would cause my hair/scalp to become oily (as some of the reviewers have experienced), so I tried not to be too hopeful about this shampoo. But, after using it for some time now, I find that my hair has responded pretty well. I find that this cleans my hair without causing any oilyness or dryness. The shampoo has a gentle and clean scent that i am comfortable with, and it's also white (i prefer white or clear/transparent shampoos for some reason :P). It also lathers very easily. Overall, i am liking this shampoo, and I think I would repurchase this one : ]. I will update for sure if anything changes!
Info : I have medium-thick, wavy hair that is prone to frizzyness.

I never thought I would ever buy my mom's shampoo. It was pretty harsh on my hair when I was a kid. I went to visit my mother and forgot my shampoo and thought, oh well, I guess I have to use Head and Shoulders today. I could not believe how soft and frizz free my hair was even without conditioner.
I ran out to to purchase the original formula but decided to get the sensitve scalp formula instead. I could not agree more with some of the other reviewers. After three days use, my scalp was so greasy and flaky. It looked like my hair had not been washed for a month. GROSS!

I always keep coming back to this shampoo as it just works. It really keeps my hair flake free and really clean and soft. My scalp is only a little sensitive and I like using this formula as it feels milder but still effective. I have also used the classic clean, and smooth & silky versions as well, all of which are great. I have tried more expensive brands but in my opinion for flaky, irritated scalps this wins hands down, and at £1.89 for a 200ml bottle, it is a bargain.

This is my mom's favorite anti-dandruff shampoo, so I ran out of my usual baby shampoo and decided to borrow this from her while waiting to re-stock on my regular. I didn't think it would cause me any problems since it claims to be a shampoo for sensitive scalps, and mine is really sensitive. It did not make my scalp break out, okay, BUT it made my scalp peel off into what looks like dandruff!! Note that I have NEVER had dandruff my whole entire life, and for the first time, after only using this shampoo twice over a period of 3 days, I got myself a dandruff case after using an anti-dandruff shampoo! How ironic is that. Thankfully, my scalp returned to normal a week later, phew, what a relief...brrr...never again. Next time I run out of shampoo, I'd rather just skip shampooing my hair until I get my regular shampoo re-stocked. I've had an equally horrid experience with Pantene (made my scalp break out) and the orange bottled Sunsilk shampoo for damaged hair (worst scalp experience ever...I had actual pus weeping off my scalp...yuck).
