That is odd. I realized I had not reviewed this one item which I consider among my must have for Canadian winters. I have combo skin with a super oily T-Zone, however I still get flaky skin in the winter. This past winter was mild, so I was not as diligent in applying it, and sure enough, I got some rough patches where my skin started peeling.
I have purchased multiple times and I go back to this as a reliable moisturizer to take care of business.
I considered other moisturizers from the EA line, but find most of the more expensive lines have a rather off-putting scent.
The Perpetual Moisture 24 hour one, in the green jar has a very slight, and nice cucumber scent that fades quickly. I like the creamy gel like texture of it and it absorbs quickly into the skin.
Overall, this is a solid product.

Richer version of perpetual moisture lotion, which i cant live without during cold time of the year.
Absolutely worth buying! Even though it's a cream, it does not leave that heavy feeling on your skin and does not clog pores, fantastic for those with oily complexion. Very light and very fast absorbing, gentle enough to use around eyes, didn't cause any break outs, has a pleasant scent. Don't particularly like the packaging, especially the shape of the jar as product is hard to reach on sides, not very hygienic, quite bulky/heavy. Would recommend for those with dehydrated skin both for winter and hot summers, i used it in a thick layer as an after sun/hydrating treatment. Also to those with oily dehydrated skin that want to nourish it for a change, maybe as a night care product.

I started using this cream 4 years ago. It's amazing. I have very dry, sensitive skin, so I can't use a moisturizer with a lot of scent in it. I was interested in the 24 hour formula to see if it actually worked. I had tried many many many moisturizers with high hopes, and this one is it.
Not a lot of the product was needed to cover my face and neck, and it's also so lightweight as compared to other long lasting creams that are very rich and feel heavy on the skin. I would normally moisturize before makeup application, after I washed my face in the afternoon, and once again before bedtime.
This stuff does what it says, it gives you long lasting moisture for the whole day. My skin feels velvety soft, and has a radiant glow to it. I've even had a few people touch my cheek and say I have the smoothest skin!! I apply it faithfully every morning and sometimes at night after a stressful day.
The price would be my only con to this product, but I guess you get what you pay for!!

This is not good for combination to dry skin type. It clogged my pores and caused breakouts that took weeks to clear. The price is reasonable. Not going to buy it again!!

I started using this when my cheeks and forehead were dry and flaky especially during winter time. I had tried Estee Lauder Hydrationist but it caused allergy reaction to my face. I had tried drugstores brand like Loreal, Olay and even Dove, but either it caused reaction on my skin or not enough hydration on my skin - still flaky and looks blotchy. I am not a Arden fan, never tried their products before, so I decided to give it a go after reading all the reviews about it. It is lightweight and smell nice. I spread it thinly on my face for the first few applications, afraid it might cause a reaction. It absorbs quickly into my skin. After few days of usage, my cheeks do not flake and my makeup doesn't show blotchy patches (previously due to dryness). My face looks hydrated and didn't feel tightness anymore. My foundation goes well on top of this moisturizer. I can only use this during winter, because my Tzones will get shiny especially nose area if I use this in summer. By then, I will switch to a oil control moisturizer. Overall, it really hydrates my skin and doesn't cause any breakouts. Down sides are it is expensive, and the creme is in a jar form, not so hygienic. You have to dip your fingers to get the creme.

My jar says perpetual moisture but it is a white jar, different from the picture listed here. I picked it up at TJ Maxx. Never realized they occassionally sell dept store skincare. I have very dry, maturing skin. I use this in the morning under EA plump perfect cream foundation and find that it does moisturize adequately and smooths almost like a primer. I have always had to use a heavier eye cream under makeup and I put that on over this moisturizer. I am satisfied overall with the performance. I like it better than Clinique Moisture On Line that I have used for YEARS!

I beg to differ from most of the negative reviews of this product; however, I am reviewing the lotion version of this product and NOT the cream version. I like everything about this product - the texture, the moisturizing effects, the smell (like cucumbers), the bottle (very hygienic as it's a pump glass bottle), and the fact that it doesn't aggravate my skin (note though, it did take my skin 2 weeks or so to adjust to this lotion because before that it was a total wreck - allergies from something i used prior to this lotion). Now, after a few weeks my skin is liking it and is less reactive (for now). If this continues to be good to my skin (as it is now) then I'll continue to purchase even with the overly high price tag (given the fact that I react to everything on the market). I am very pleased with this lotion. EDIT: Recently, this started to make me really/super oily within an hour or so. Not sure what happened. I am so disappointed. Also, at first this gave me a nice glow but now its just like any other lotion. Docked 2 lippes (1 for the price and the other for the oiliness and no glow). No sale for me.

I received this as a GWP and used it as a night cream when travelling as it doesn't contain SPF. My first thought was that the fragrance isn't as strong as most of EA's products, and I was pleasantly pleased by this. My second thought when I applied it was that it contains alot of silicones, as it's incredily silky and smooth. Having used it for a couple of days I didn't really find it moisturzing enough, as it was the cones making my skin smooth, not the moisture content. I was thus disappointed because my first impressions of this was pretty good. It came in a miniture version of the original size jar, but it wasn't sanitary to use.

A rare, very helpful Elizabeth Arden counter lady at Debenhams gave me a massive sample of this cream, by literally scraping out some cream from the jar and giving it to me in a little glass tester tub.
The first time I used this cream, bits of stuff (I hoped it was the cream, and not my skin!) began to roll off my undereye area. Very disconcerting! However, I quickly realised this happened because I had used too much.
You only need a TEENY bit of this cream when applying around the eye area. If you have oily skin, I presume this would feel too greasy. For one such as I, a gal who has dry undereye skin, this works wonderfully. 24 is a very fitting name for this cream, because the hydration does last pretty much the whole day, keeping the dreaded concealer creases to a minumum. The only downside is that the cream is very expensive...

To start out, I have combination-oily skin, which gets pretty oily on the t-zone and i guess it spreads to my cheeks throughout the day. It smells ok and the texture is fine. After putting it on, I let it absorb for at least 5 mins before my foundation goes on. The thing i hated was that it doesn't make my foundation go on smoothly, its as if it creates an invisible teflon barrier, and my foundation rubs off in little bits as i smooth it with a make-up sponge! And since then i've stopped using it, can't bear to throw it out so i put it on my cheeks if i'm staying in and not wearing make up. I guess it's just not suited to my combination skin, although i bought it due to the dry patches. I doubt it's cos the cream is supposedly "ultra moisturising" cos i've applied Palmer's cocoa butter on my face before and even then it didn't grease up as quickly. It's probably all the silicones cream. Besides that, there is absolutely no noticeable difference in the texture or looks of my skin. Definitely not buying again. Guess with oily skin, you shouldn't get a product with too much moisture?

It moisturizes well, but I expected more. And it has quite a lot of preservatives and perfume in it so I would not recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin.

I liberated a sample from the counter - it's a 2mL packet attached to a details card, because I fell in love with the Onyx eyeliner and figured I should plan for the next gwp. (No notes on price or packaging, sorry.) I was quite pleased with this. It's hot and humid here and this is a breath of fresh air for me. A very light moisturizer that does some good moisturizing (I'm using a Vichy mattifying gel moisturizer and don't love it), and a soft fresh smell. I would consider buying a full sized version, or cashing in some Optimum points for a bottle.

Big big disappointment, big big regret! I loved the old formulation, but not this. This doest do anything, it's crap! I loved the old formular bcos it was so feathery, soft, hydrating and calming to an extend. With this, it's a little sticky, a little heavy, doesnt do a great job in hydration, still affordable but more expensive than the old one, doesnt help with anti-aging, no sun protection (not like the old one did, but at least it was good texture and felt great on skin). Bad bad decision for EA to change its formular. defintely wont repurchase.

This is the only product I've ever used that has caused an allergic reaction, and this one was BIG. My entire face was red, extremely swollen, itchy, and rough. It lasted for about three days. Obviously I'm allergic to one or more of the ingredients. It felt pleasant going onto my skin in the evening but by morning I was definitely no longer a fan of this cream!!

I personally am not a fan of Elizabeth Arden products, even though I seem to be picking up freebies from them all the time - I do like my 8 hour cream (obviously) but having tried their over purfumed skincare I don't know why I decided to try this - but if it works for Catherine Zeta Jones...

I am plesantly surprised. Its a nice lightweight gel texture, which hasnt given me a allergic reaction even though I HATE purfumed products. My skin in nice and soft (but it is combined with Shu's cleansing oil which is excellent) and it does feel soft all day. I also have the matching eyecream.

I received a nice-sized sample of this in a free-gift-with-purchase promotion. I was really impressed--it spread on very easily, felt exceptionally moisturizing, and "sunk in" quickly. My powder foundation went on smoothly on top of it (sometimes it gets gucky with moisturizers that are too heavy or don't sink in). The problem? The EA counter doesn't carry it!!!! I went back to buy a full-size jar and they don't have it! Go figure...

Arden has reformulated the Perpetual Moisture about half year ago. I have used two jars of the old-version Perpetual Moisture, which is very rare since I am very unloyal to and brand and always willing to try new products. So,that means I love the old Perpetual Moisture!

Luckily, the new one doesn't let me down! The old one had a gel-creme-like texture while the new one is slightly more balm-like. But don't get me wrong, it is not heavy at all. It absorbs instantly and leaves my skin silky-soft. Plus, I like the scent of the new cream better. It has a faint smell of slightly minty cucumber, the scent itself is devine and soothing. The jar packaging can be a pain for someone, but I use a clean cotton bud to scoop it out, so it's not a big deal. The new line also has a lotion version for oilier skin. Good job, Arden!
