I don't know what it is but every time the word "honey" is in the title of a lip balm I get the smell of bird feathers. I know it sounds weird, but it smells just like a cockatoo, and it grosses me out. It's the same with Nivea's kiss of Milk & Honey.

I love most of KMF lip balm.except this. I was totally put off with the scent, after one application, I dump it to the bin. Perhaps my tube is off, but I will just stay away for Vanilla Honey.

Each of the flavors of this lip balm are different. They have different ingredients, and different oils, so if you don't like one, try a different one! I tried the coconut one first and I loved it, it was very moisturizing. I wanted to try a different flavor so I bought the vanilla honey, and I find that it is a lot more dense and harder to put on, and not as moisturizing, but it's still good lip balm and it has SPF. I'm going to stick with the coconut.

Huh, I guess I'm surprised about all the comments about the scent...Mine smells like, well, vanilla with a hint of honey, no rancidness or anything "off." Perhaps the quality control is bad? Dunno.

Anyway, I received this in a swap from a lovely lady on MUA, and have been very happy with it. It smells good, and moisturizes well. I keep it next to my bed, and use it every day. The reason I only give it 4 lippies is it's a bit thick, and doesn't glide over my lips as well as I think it should.
Would buy again.

I defiantly like to purchase lip balms that smell yummy and for this one it smells good enough to eat. The scent is more vanilla than it is honey so you don’t get Burt’s Bees honey lip balm from this. A reviewer mentioned it smelling like cookie dough and I can pick this up a bit but for me it’s not as sweet. As for the ingredients I am pleased to see that it has Honey Extract listed. I feel honey is a great ingredient for moisture and should be in a lip balm labeled Vanilla Honey. Over all the lip balm works just as well as any other natural lip balm (it's not waxy) and I may repurchase but I am one of those women who like trying new beauty products.

Wasn't a huge fan of this. Picked it up at The Vitamin Shoppe after running out of my Weleda Everon (which they didn't have in stock at the time). The texture is okay; smooth enough to glide over lips, but really too thin to moisturize well. I had to apply several coats to cover well enough. The staying power, quite frankly, was absolute crap. I had to reapply within twenty minutes. It gave a very mild sheen, though, and did look pretty while it lasted. The kicker, though, was the smell. I didn't detect honey or vanilla... but something akin to... cookie dough? It was odd. I'm keeping it in my bag for a spare if needs be, but won't be repurchasing.

ETA 03/24/09: Nope. Definitely not moisturizing enough for my needs, not even worth keeping for emergencies. Tossed it, and am sticking with Weleda.

I agree with other reviewers in regard to the scent/smell/odor: "something is not quite right with this."
It has a foully pungent after-scent that makes me gag, quite frankly. Another reviewer described it as rancid. However, to me the texture is just fine and I like the .15 plastic swivel tube packaging and I love that it has spf 15...I just cannot put up with the horrid odor! Ack!!! I will definitely not repurchase, either.

Why the bad reviews? I personally love this. The texture seems thicker than the Strawberry one (which I also liked), but not hard as some reviewers said. It glides on thick and easy for me and is intensely moisturizing. Since it is so thick it makes my lips look good, slightly shiny. The smell doesn't bother me. I have chronically dry lips that get painful cracks if I don't use lip balm. Nanak's Lip Smoothee is my favorite (no reviews of that on here, but Whole Foods has it for $2.99 or something and it is the BEST) but this (and other Kiss My Face balms) is a close second.

I agree with the reviewer below me, the texture is really thick and waxy. And as the reviewer two spots below me said, "something is not quite right with this." Besides the texture, there's a certain quality to it - a rancidness perhaps? - that doesn't smell quite right. I like vanilla and honey, even together, but I don't think they mix well in this particular balm. I will definitely not repurchase.

Had great hopes for this natural based product. Flavour was fine but the texture was really thick and waxy.

I love vanilla and I love honey and I've even loved them together. For some reason - the combo is not great on this. I love Kiss My Face lip balms (although Strawberry is my favorite flavor). They are mostly organic, use natural ingredients, have a great texture, great flavors and make my lips soft. Something is just not right with this one though. I believe I picked this up at Whole Foods for around $3, but I definitely will not repurchase and probably will never finish this tube.

If you^'re into lip balm for the glide, this won't be your best bet- what I think is beeswax in it makes it kinda hard (although I didn't think this company did beeswax but whatevs). That said, this balm is nourishing, it just kinda sits on your lips. The smell is neither vanilla nor honey. I am liking it so far for the night time under my carmex (NB I need Carmex to survive, but as it is petroleum based I need something nourishing for extra moisture, yes I know about the SPF but they are physical blocks which I can do at night). Decent but there is better stuff out there. However if you are a junkie like me, troll for this at your local granola store. Which is what I will do, except I will buy something else. Yes it's like that.

When I first tried this I didn't think it was so great because I had it in my car in the winter time and it always seemed to drag across my lips and be too hard. But when I put it in my purse and let it warm up to room temp. then I loved it. It is not greasy in fact it is supper high in beeswax that is why it doesn't apply well in colder weather but because it has so much beeswax it is great to put on under lipsticks especially matte lipsticks. It really helped stop some of my red lipsticks from bleeding and the color holds better to it than a slicker chapstick. I love the light honey vanilla smell. This one really grew on me and serves its purpose. It is probably my third favorite chapstick (after Alba coconut and Weleda Everon )

I have to agree with the other reviewer. Not my favorite, it also wasn't so horrid that I threw it away....yet. The smell was ok, but for me the texture was bad. Even when I warm it up on my hand it's too waxy. I also have the Peach (smells like peach skin) and it would get at least one to one and a half more lippies.

This lip balm isn't especially moisturizing and the scent is horrid. 70% Certified Organic Ingredients, SPF 15.
