I bought this because it looks like the same packaging of the define a brow. It's a little darker than the discontinued dark brown, but with a light hand, it can work. I bought several backups of my beloved define a brow at dollar tree, will consider this when I run out.

I use espresso for my brows, and the thin line makes it easy / look good & it stays. As a eyeliner, its ok. I use the black one (sometimes) to trace where i want my liquid liner.

I love this eyeliner! I got it for christmas and didn't use it because at the time I wasn't big on makeup. A few months ago I found it in the bottom of my makeup bag and I haven't gone back since! I have used every single color and they are all great. Espresso is brown color, which I use for everyday, Onyx is a grey/black color that can be for day/night, and Black Sparkle (my favorite!!) is the darkest and it has a little bit of glitter in it to make your eyes pop. It is so easy to apply; I just do a bunch of small strokes on my upper lash line and make it thicker on the outside to make a small cat eye. I love how you don't have to sharpen it, and it lasts longer than you think. I would highly reccomend this eyeliner! I think they have changed the packaging, because it looks different than the picture. To everyone dismayed with Maybelline discontinuing Define-A-Brow in Dark Brown, please check out the Maybelline Line Stylist eyeliner http://bit.ly/LineStylist.
I like my brow pencils waxy with sharp tips but hate sharpening the more traditional eye pencils where the pencil shortens overtime. While the retractable, sharpen free pencils are convenient, they get blunt tips. The Espresso shade is an exact dupe, without the joke comb. Apply with soft short strokes, it's like sketching in fine eyebrow hair. With it's fine tip, you can define a sharp tapered eyebrow tail. The packaging is similar to the more expensive Clinique Superfine Liner for Brows and Mac Eye Brows at 1/2 of the price. Caveat: It's 1/3 the quantity of Mac, 1/2 of Clinique. But, hey, if you're in a tight budget, this will do. I'm surprised that in the drugstore line of eye pencils, only Maybelline has this pencil in this packaging. The shade range in this line would be the darker spectrum for Define-A-Brow but they could expand the shade range to include a soft brown (Taupe Grey or Khaki Grey). But I'm happy just the same if they do not discontinue.

This eyeliner was terrible. It drags on my eye and to get any pigment you have to go over the same spot multipul times. It also breaks with almost no pressure. Really, really bad.

"White Highlight" was rubbish. It drags, feels dry, actually goes on lumpy, and won't 't blend! Way too much work to look even in the inner corner as a highlight. Doesn't apply to the waterline. The winding mechanism broke after the 2nd use, which I am still fuming about. I can't believe this company let their quality get so low.

This eyeliner does not stay on at all. I do like how it looks when applied however like I said, it doesn't last. I do like how thin it is though.

This is the worst eyeliner I have ever purchased. When I tried to apply the liner to my waterline, the crayon just drug along my skin and scratched it.
Despite the discomfort, I went over my waterline gently several times with the crayon as it required many swipes to get the liner to deposit even a little color onto my waterline.
Still though, for all of my determination and good efforts, I only managed to get the liner to deposit a faint grey line. I found the grey color to be particularly irritating because I wanted a black colored eyeliner and I really thought onyx would be would be black, or at least darn close to it. I wouldn't have thought something described as being the color onyx would come out a sickly grey.
I've never bought such a miserable product. So as not to waste my money, and possibly out of spite, I'm using the eyeliner as a regular old pencil to schedule appointments on my calendar.
I will NEVER buy this product again.

I was looking for something that would give me a thinner line, but it's really too thin and a lot of work. Otherwise great. Very thin line, doesn't transfer to the eyelid much, but if you need it thicker it's a bit of work. So, not buying again. Edit: I do find I use it to fill in any gaps of my liner. But doesn't seem to take for tight lining.

Oh wow this stuff is great. It gives me a nice thin line, doesn't smudge (and I touch my face all the time, so I mean, I need something that doesn't move) I much prefer the twist up to liquid and pencil since I can just swipe on a little line and take off. I don't have time for you, liquid eyeliner, I have to get going. Pencil? Man, why bother with eye splinters? Just jam this baby on your lids and get going with your day, you have important things to do like baby swapping and poker playing like real women.

i love this eyeliner! it'll do a thin line, it's a twist up, it doesn't smudge by the end of the day, and it works great on my waterline. i've been using it about 3 weeks now, and whenever it does run out i definitely will be buying more.

I really really love this product and I can't believe i'm just now writing a review. I was on the fence with this because my shimmery shadows would prevent it from going on sometimes but since i've been using it with my tarte shadows I have not had this problem! The line is nice and black and this STAYS put unless you do some scrubbing, which I really dont mind. This also works really well if you want to transform a shadow into a liner, this makes it stick and the shadow will wear as a liner all day! I hate using water or my studio fix to transform shadows to liners so this is absolutely perfect! The pencil is nice and skinny too so its good for tighlining! I want to get this in other colors since i've discovered this works wonders over matte or tarte shadows!

From time to time I will stray around and try different pencils for my eyebrows.
And each and every time, I come back to this one. One of the things I love most about this eyeliner is the fact that it doesn't require sharpening.
I've destroyed dozens of my eyebrow pencils by sharpening them. But the time there is a tip, I am stuck with a really short pencil.
But I digress. The Line Stylist is a great go-to pencil for my brows. It also wears well, even in the heat of the summer. (It's 100 degrees out today).
Not very expensive and well worth checking out. I think you'll find it to be your go-to eyeliner too.

WHY oh WHY did they stop producing this eyeliner? Seriously, Even with the sometimes breakable tip, it did for my eyelids what no other eyeliner did. I have seriously oily eyelids and this super "dry" formula stayed all day on. :(
Does anyone have suggestions? Please?

I use this liner in the Bronze Gleam shade as an eyebrow pencil. I have never tried it as an eyeliner just because it is so thin that I think it would break while using it. It makes the perfect eyebrows though!!

This was my go-to product in high school. It was so easy to apply and lasted all day, no problem. I've even gone in water with this and had it last! I wouldn't recommend this for use on your waterline, only lashline or with very pigmented eyeshadows in which case, i would recommend a gel or liquid eyeliner. It really is a great product and i always had an extra one in my bag in case the one i was currently using ran out! but definitely the best eyeliner if you want a very defined, thin and not smokey eyeliner!

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this eyeliner! Great for water line!!!! Stays on mostly all day, I do have to touch up once during lunch break. other than that, it is fantastic! I will DIE if Maybelline ever discontinues it! I have had my same 4 or 5 eyeliner pencils for like, 6 months and havent ran out yet. I have never had problems w/mine breaking off, but I use it on my water line only, because I use WnW eyeliner on my upper lid, just because I am afraid if I used my Maybelline line stylist on my upper lid, it WOULD break. :/

I'm not sure why people don't like this product. I've had mine for two weeks now and it hasn't broken yet. The instructions on the back of the package says to give it just one clockwise twist per use, and that's what I do. Perhaps some people twisted the eyeliner too much? :( Not sure.
Anyway, I like the design. Very slim and easy to angle. I put the eyeliner on and took a four hour nap... woke up and it hadn't smudged at all! Today, I went out to a park and the weather was scorching, but the eyeliner didn't smudge much, just a tiny bit at the corners of my eyes. My only beef about this product is that it's horribly difficult to remove, even with eye makeup remover.
I got this free with my Lash Stiletto mascara (which I also liked) but I would definitely pay actual money for this product.

The first time I bought this eyeliner it did break after a few days and would no longer twist up and I was fairly disappointed to have wasted to much of a good liner. I suppose the packaging could be a little better quality, but it was my fault that it broke. In any case, the liner has amazing staying power and is not too dry to apply comfortably even without heating it up. Perhaps I've had better luck than others with my purchases, but I'm on my third one and all have been fine. I love that it can make such a nice thin line because it's always a lot easier to make a thicker line with a thinner pencil than the other way around if I want to play around with thickness. I have it in espresso, which I love, and after reading here I think I'll hunt for bronze gleam! This is also one of the few pencil or twist up liners that applies to my waterline and actually stays there.

This eyeliner was terrible. It is so hard that it breaks even when you press lightly, trying to warm it up doesn't help. It lasts, the problem really is the application- it breaks with even the slightest pressure.
Total waste of money for me.
