DO NOT use this item. I am now in the process of correcting all the damaged caused by this product. It made my skin really sensitive to the sun where now I have hyperpigmention and get rashes on my face. I have never even burned with the sun. It also enlarged my pores and a few acne scars! I trashed all these items and some others almost $350 worth, and I used them for only a month! STAY AWAY!

Distinctly excellent. I do not think i have ever used any face products or combination of skin care products which have truly made such a difference and so quickly (noticed difference after 1 week use). I do not have much acne, just hormonal breakouts, nor major lines (yet, cross fingers), but this brightened up my face, made it more even toned and really just naturally beautiful skin. It takes off all my make up and i dont even need a toner afterwards. Eye make up remover yes but nothing else. I dont have major skin issues, but do love to buy and use foundation or powder and now i really truly do not even need it maybe just a dusting of powder to mattify or create a more even base. I bought this off hsn in a package with the serum, gommage mask and moisturizer. I did not have sensitivity issues with any of the products as some people do. The smell does suck but its not horrible. I would definitely buy again and again. I have used Lancome skin care products, drug store, Clinique, and different specialty/natural soaps. This really worked for me and i am rarely so emphatic or distinctly see such a difference with skin care products.

i have breakouts (not acne) and blackheads.... i bought the ssc line of glycolic products which include serum ,,, cream,,, gomage(mask),,and cleanser...from hsn.... i love it.... you feel the glycolic acid working with all the products.... they dont smell too good but the smell goes away quickly.... my face is smooth and even and breakouts and black heads are going away!!!!... i leave the cleanser on a few minutes and remove it with a moist wash cloth.... once face is dry i apply serum and then a bit of the cream.... love it and i can afford it....

I used this product years ago in high school and recently found it in Canada again and am so happy! I have tried TONS of drug store cleansers, Body Shop, Clinque, Arbonne, Pro Activ ... the list goes on and haven't found one I love. If you are used to cleansers that foam up, this isn't one of them. It goes on kind of like a cream, no lather or bubbles but you can feel it breaking down the gunk on your face. At night I leave it on for a few minutes like a mask to deep clean. It does smell like glue, but I can overlook that fact because it works so well. I paid $21 CAD for a 4 fl oz pump but it's worth it. (Also love that it comes in a pump) You can sometimes get it as part of a kit with other SSC products for a better deal.

i like this cleanser but it doesn't like me. it tends to burn the skin around my mouth and the area between my upperlip and nose, which sucks because it makes the rest of my face peel nicely and it reveals nice skin underneath. even without the burns i couldnt use this daily because its just too stong for me. its a little too much for my face i dont think my skin likes glycolic acid too well and the burns definitely make me hesitant to use any other glycolic acid product on my face

---UPDATE----
Still using this product regularly after 1.5 years - I still LOVE it! My fiance actually uses it occasionally, and he is skeptical of almost everything that costs more than Clearasil. His skin is normal to dry, mine is combination-oily, and it's been amazing for us both. It works wonders brightening up a dull complexion, exfoliating dead skin cells, and clearing up skin (not that I've had much trouble more than a zit or two during that time of the month, especially since getting hooked on this stuff). Still great during humid months. I take a break for a few days and switch to a gentler soap if it gets very dry in the winter.
During this time, I've only reordered from HSN once - you get 2 bottles for about $36.
You must try this!
(From last year...) - I've now been using this product for the past 3 months with crystal-clear skin. I hope it stays as the weather warms and seasons turn.
If not, I will return to it come fall and winter.
Definitely try this out if you are looking for something gentle but highly effective for dry-skin acne, rosacea, or even just general good upkeep.
Worth its weight in gold for the near-instant improvement!

I used the Serious Skin Care basic line which includes the Glycolic Cleanser for a couple of years. I really liked the line and found the results to be good - people complimented me on my complexion. I would recommend the line.
I did, however, stop using the line when a friend of mine's husband started selling the Obagi line in his practice. I switched and haven't looked back. Having said that for someone wanting a less expensive skin care line, SSS is a good choice.

This stuff is the devil... I checked reviews here first (as I do with absolutely eveything!) and bought into the hype. I wanted it to work because I thought it could help even out the hyperpigmentation on my skin tone as little faster, but after my first use, I had an IMMEDIATE reaction. My caramel colored skin developed four, bright red, large pimples/cysts (two on my temple, on under my eye and one on my chin). All were sensitive to the touch. (I tried it twice a day, for three days because I didn't want to give up so easily) It ultimately took a wekk to get rid of the pimples, with the use of acne products.
I tend to have clogged pores, but I immediately reverted back to the method that I adopted at the beginning of the year: EVOO and castor oil cleansing at night (with a little as a night mositurizer) and Neutrogena Blackhead scrub (or Clean and Clear Soft ) in the morning. And my skin has gone back to normal.
I will be sending this back to HSN today!

I run a lot and need a deep-cleaning cleanser for my face, and the best I've found is the the Glycolic cleanser from SSC. I leave it on for a few minutes for that deep-cleaning action, and it does make my skin look better. However, some of the posters below are right - the smell can be offputting, and the consistency is a bit odd so I only use it when I shower so it's easier to rinse off. Yet regardless of those two cons, it does live up to its claims, and will be a mainstay in my skincare regimen.

This is a good cleanser -- it is on par with Jan Marini's cleanser. It might be a touch stronger. It is thick and the smell can be a bit strong -- makes my eyes water. But, I leave it on for 2 or 3 minutes and then rinse it off, and I feel that it helps my skin stay clear. I got this in a kit, and this is one product that I would use.

I bought this cleanser from the discount section in Ulta, so I only paid $6 for it after taxes.
I was pretty happy about that. I agree that this is a good cleanser. The glycolic part didn't do much for me, but I did buy a mask and that worked well.
its a very nice product. I probably wouldn't pay their retail price for it, but I did think that it was nice for $6!

The only reason I'm not rating this a perfect 5 is because of the glue-like smell. Otherwise, this is an AMAZING cleanser! Before SSC's Glycolic Cleanser, I was committed to foaming cleansers, so this formulation was a bit of a departure from the norm for me. This is to be applied to dry skin (makeup and all), massaged in, and rinsed off with lukewarm water. The glycolic causes my eyes to water a little, but the result is worth any discomfort (including the strange smell)! My skin is soft, completely makeup-free, and best of all, this cleanser has done WONDERS for my complexion. I've had zero breakouts since I've started using this (definitely something to write home about for my skin) and I actually have that coveted "glow." This isn't the only Serious Skin Care product that has impressed me -- I'm in love with this line now!

Wow. Little did I expect this cleanser to become a HG. I'm acne prone and on topicals, and was advised to use a Glycolic wash in the AM. My derm suggested Glytone, which I liked, but honestly was not that impressed with. It was "eh". I've used the Ice Elements Refining Cleanser, and I really liked that, but was open to other ideas. I saw a SSC presentation for this cleanser on HSN and was intrigued. As usual, I came here, and did a search first and figured "Why not?" so I ordered it. First impressions: it does smell like Elmers Glue! OMG. But after 4 weeks of using the cleanser? WOW. I do notice a nice glow after I'm done washing my face, and my face is consistently staying clearer. I use it every day in the AM, and I leave it on for a minute or two, like when I'm washing my hair. I wash it off and my face is so soft! LOVE. I've since tried a few other SSC things that I was not impressed with at all (like the Replicate and Renew Serum- burned my face!) but I am now on Auto-ship for this cleanser. If you can get past the smell (and if I can, I think anyone can because I am sensitive to all smells) you will love it. The smell doesn't linger, it's just when you put it on. And really, it's not *that* bad, but definitely reminds me of Elmers Glue.
7/25/09 Edit: I use the SSC C-Clean in the PM, I love that too! Very impressed so far with the SSC Cleansers. I suggest if you want to start with SSC, definitely start off with a cleanser.

I can see this being a great cleanser for many skin types. I have oily skin so I need something stronger in summer, but in winter it will be my morning, in-shower cleanser. And I say in-shower because of the cleanser's strange resemblance to Elmer's Glue is consistency, color and smell. It takes several splashes to rinse it from your skin, so it will work best for me in the shower, and again, I don't love the smell. But it left me soft, moisturized and not dry, and like I said I would bet many people would find this works for them, once they get past the whole glue thing.

I love this product! I finally have found something that helps my skin without stripping it and making it feel tight. I use it 2 times per day and my skin has never looked better.

This product is overall really good for your skin. It does what it says it's supposed to do, which is unclog your pores and help get dead skin off. BUT! you have to use in conjunction with other products in order to see a difference. This cleanser is meant to unclog pores and will bring acne to the surface. That's all it does! it does not alleviate acne. If you are a person who does not have that bad of acne, then this will be okay. But for those of you with mild to severe acne, if you use this, please either use with the other serious skin care product line or use something else. Because this will cause you to break out.

I LOVE this cleanser. I can wash my entire face with it and all my makeup comes off even eye makeup without having to use eye remover. My skin feels really clean and don't have to use a toner afterward.
It is pricey depending on the size and if your lucky you can buy it in a kit for a reasonable price on hsn.
The packaging is OK it's a pump but can improve IMHO

I really love this product; I don't use it as a regular cleanser, but as a treatment product. I first use a gentle cleanser, then once my skin is rinsed and dried, I smooth on a layer of the glycolic cleanser and let the product do its magic! Smooth, glowing skin is the result. One of my all-time favorites.
