As a natural curly headed gal I always have the most hope for products that make claims such as this one. Lately I have been "embracing" my curly hair and been working to find the best products to make it a pretty true curl pattern. I have colored, fine hair - but a lot of it. This was one of the products I tried to get the curl pattern I was hoping for but alas .. it didn't do a thing to help. I have found the AG recoil to be the best creme for the good curl shape. I also use Keratin leave in conditioner and Diva Curl gel. Finally got the mix right. Moroccan oil is good too. This redken product, though, is not worth wasting your money on. Forget it.

I have naturally wavy/curly untreated hair that frizzes constantly. I'd been using Redken Fresh Curls spray for a while to help make my waves into curls. But I wasn't getting much shine and it was increasing my frizz. I bought a trial size of Ringlet and applied it before the Fresh Curls and it did wonders. I don't think it really CREATES curls, but it conditions them beautifully and keeps your hair from feeling stiff and crunchy.

I'm on my 4th bottle of this or so. I don't have naturally curly hair, I have a perm (not the 80s frizzy kind, but the Asian kind where it looks more wavy and natural). I like this because it's not crunchy and will hold a wave all day. If I don't use some sort of curl activating product, my curls/waves tend to straighten out by the end of the day. I've used it for so long I know exactly how much I need to use. The only thing I don't love is the price. $20 is a lot when there are a lot of drugstore products out there that claim to do the same; I just haven't been brave enough to find a good dupe.

Hair type: 3C, dark brown, chin-length, healthy, virgin, naturally on the dry side. Lovely product! Like other reviewers have mentioned, it feels very much like a leave-in conditioner, but it does have the holding properties of a medium-hold gel. Since my hair is dry and coarse, I like to layer it with a treatment (Crema Care, Smooth Down or Fresh Curls), but it works well on its own, too. Smells fresh and it gives me a soft, natural finish. I dread the "wet look", and this fortunately does not do that, eventhough I use tons of it :o).

Though it's a bit pricier than I'd like, Redken 07 is one of the best styling products I have ever used! It makes my wavy/curly hair dry much less frizzily. For some reason it helps eliminate frizz a lot more in the front than in the back, though this seems to be true of every hair product I've ever used... anyways, for the best results smooth over the top of damp hair and scrunch it into the lower parts. One pump is the perfect amount for me, but I have long thick hair so some might want to use less.

I really like this product and have been using it for a while. BUT REDKEN IS TESTED ON ANIMALS! Most products of this price range and stature no longer do animal testing, I am paying for those advances in technology. I refuse to buy this again until L'Oreal and Redken change their research techniques. There are too many other great brands that 1) do not have alcohol as the #2 ingredient in a moisturizing product and 2) do not test on animals.

So ever since John Freida took Funky Chunky off of the market I've been desperately searching for something similar. I have slightly wavy hair but I hate to scrunch it because it always turns into a frizzy nightmare. FC always enhanced my waves without the “crunch” of gels so when my stylist recommended this product I figured I’d try it. THANK GOODNESS! I think I’ve found my HG wave enhancing product. A tip for users who may have found it to make their hair crunchy – try letting it dry and if you have a bit of stiffness “scrunch” the dry hair. This shouldn’t make it frizzy and it will take out the hardness.

i looooooove ringlet! this is my number 1 choice for all of my curly haired clients. it defines the curl without drying hard and crunchy. holds the shape of the curl but stays flexible, shiny, and soft. definitely my top choice.

I have naturally wavy, long blonde hair that I usually let air dry, sometimes I use a diffuser. This stuff works great on it! I think this might be my HG wave product. However, as someone else said, the Ringlet part isn't really true, this makes my waves look GREAT and soft and even, but it doesn't give tight curls. It has never made my hair crunchy and it doesn't weigh it down, which I love because the longer my hair gets the less wavy it seems to be. If you have naturally wavy hair I would definitely recommend this!

Redken Ringlet 07 - Excellent hair product if you have naturally curly hair. I have shoulder length hair with medium size curls. I've used this product 3 ways so far:
1. washed my hair, towel dried, didn't comb, applied 2 pumps of product throughout wet hair. Fell asleep, woke up next morning and curls were a little more defined.
2. washed my hair, towel dried, applied 1 pump throughout all of hair by combing it through, set hair in rollers and allowed to partially air dry and then used hair drier to speed process. I got beautiful bouncy curls with a lot of volume.
3. Had to style my hair for a wedding. Washed my hair, towel dried, applied 2 pumps throughout all hair and combed it through, set hair in rollers and dried with hair drier. I got really defined curls that lasted a long time.
This product looks and feels like conditioner. It also doesn't leave any stickyness on your hair. It just amplifies your current hair texture.

I absolutely love this poduct. I mainly use Kerastase products, but my salon uses that in conjunction with Redken.
First off, I have black, natural, curly hair, around 3c in texture. It curls in an a tight s pattern, and is prone to frizz. And the tropical weather in the humid island I live in doesn't help either.
I have tried paul mitchell foaming pomade, mixed with the super sculpt glaze, but it dried my hair out.
The only thing that works at defining and holding my curls is a secret concotion that I will share with you:
Redken Ringlet + Kerastase Oleo-Curl Cream + Kerastase Oleo Relax Serum + a few pumps of Kerastase Oleo-Curl Mist = soft, well defined, frizz free curls, with no crunch or stickiness, and all day hold.
Try it if you have unmanageble curls, regardless of your ethnicity. I promise you'll love it!!!

I LOVE this product! I bought it before checking on here and was then a bit disappointed to see so many people who didn't like it.
I gave it a try, just one pump on my thick curly hair, which is just past my shoulders. As mentioned by everyone else it had no hold and was just frizzy and yuk.
Then a week later I tried 2 pumps, 1 on the top half of my just washed hair, and 1 on the ends. FANTASTIC!
I didn't comb it through or anything, and just left it to air dry and 1 hour later my hair looks gorgeous with defined curls and some ringlets too. I don't scrunch until my hair is totally dry, and by then it looks so good I don't even bother. I just scrunch lightly if my hair is a bit crunchy in places, but most of the time it's just nice and soft.
I have to add that Ringlet seems to work better when it is a warm sunny day (as it is here in Australia now) than when it is cold and rainy. I don't know why, but I am guessing the drying time is longer and this seems to leave my hair without body or much curl.

I struggled with this product trying to figure out how much to use. There seems to be a very small margin of error, and I'd often end up with hair that was either weighed down and crunchy or out-of-control and frizzy. Maybe there are other factors involved - humidity, whether I air-dried or blow-dried my hair? I gave it a chance and have not written my review until finishing the entire container of product. In the end, this product is too unreliable to be a HG for me.

I have wavy hair ONLY in the humid weather! I'm not complaining though - it does get frizzy, but with certain products it gets a real curl to it. I've tried many products over the years and I can honestly say that this is the best curl defining product I have ever used - no crunchy feel to it, just smooth and soft! I put one pump in while my fair is still really wet and then I scrunch it, then go to bed with it still damp. After I wake up, I just use a spray bottle to wet my hair, put in a little Redken In the Loop and hairspray and I am ready to go! I've gotten tons of compliments and the look stays all day. I've also used this with a diffuser to go out immediately and I love it. Highly Recommend!

I have found my HG hair product. My hair has always had a slight wave in the back but only within the last year has it become curly all over - meaning I have been spending this year looking for my HG curl product. I use about a dime-size amount for my shoulder length hair and diffuse or air dry. My curls turn into defined ringlets without any crunch. NO CRUNCH at all. My only complaint is that so far I have only found the 6 oz. size pump bottle. A stylist friend of mine has a large bottle and I need to get my hands on that.

This product was recommended to me by a stylist from the salon I was going to. She had very curly hair and the curls seemed to "stick together." Her hair was coarse & thick, unlike mine. The salon only sells Redken, which made me hesistant, but I thought, why not? She recommended using it with Redken's Hot Sets - which I will review as well. Didn't like it either - too sticky.
I found this product to only coat my hair and not do much for the curl enhancing. I have natural wave to my hair and depending the product, it can help or make it harder to get the wave/curly after washing. Ringlet seemed too heavy for my fine hair. I will be putting mine up for swap.

Wow, I really wish I discovered this product sooner. It's totally weightless, not greasy, won't make your hair crunchy, and makes my curls look perfect. A must have for anyone who wants pretty curls, whether your curls are natural or permed.

I'm reviewing the Ringlet 07 Curl Perfecter - so I hope this is the right category. I've recently started using this product and it is on its way to being an HG for me! In the winter months, I have a hard time with my naturally wavy/curly hair getting dried out. This product provides a good base, which I follow with the Clean Life Weightless Volume Gel. Definitely worth a try!

As far as hair gel goes, I think this product is as close to my HG as I'm going to get. I have thick, but fine, color treated wavy hair, which left to its own devices just sort of hangs in flat, weak waves. Ringlet, used with a diffuser, gives me big bouncy CURLS, for the first time in my life. I snipped my hair a bit to lighten the top layer (it's about shoulder length or a little longer) and it made my hair even fuller and curlier. It looks good even the next morning, a first for me, it really holds the curl. AND NO CRISPY HAIR, no crunchy residue or dust. Absolutely love this product. Now if I can convince Redken to bring back Climatress...
