Went to Beauty Brands to buy Redken Blonde Glam Mousse (which apparently they don't carry anymore) and ended up with this because it was on sale for $10.00 (and I had the tail end of a gift card with exactly $12 left on it). I don't think I was expecting a liquid, but it didn't drip. Just squirted a healthy does into my palm and rubbed directly to my scalp, combed through and then styled.
Obviously the first few times used too much product, didn't obtain that much volume but way too much texture - ugly dry, brittle texture, it wasn't good. Since I'm still sans Mousse, have continued using and believe the secret is to use only a NICKLE size amount (depending on your hair length) and no more, no less. And have to say if you can get the right proportion applied, the body will last for several days before washing and blow drying again, Now that I've figured out how to use it, would probably buy it again if it was on sale (it seems like the bottle will last a long time, so Redken will probably come out with something new before have to repurchase!)

Just tried this on my BSL hair. Didn't make it feel or look any thicker but it made the ends look really rough/dry and it caused my hair to keep getting tangled.
I much prefer the Redken satinwear lotion.

my hair is fine with baby soft 2A.
most thickening product's makes my hair huge cotton candy big with no bounce.
but this redken thickening lotion and Redken - Aerate 08 Bodifying Cream Mousse makes my hair swingy bounce thick look.
esp next day.
I wash my hair at night ,
apply mix the two.then sleep.
next morning my hair is swingy bounce!!
I don't apply around root because my scalp is sensitive.
I also mix this lotion whatever other styling product's.

The best volumizer yet! Most of the other ones I have tried leave my ends feeling fried, Not this one. I wish redken would make it in a larger size. Overall favorite product!!!!

I love this stuff! I have fine hair that if left alone is very depressing...all limp and lifeless. Always have tried different mousses', sprays, etc. and always came up with less than desirable results. Not with this! This absolutely works, and in conjunction with great hairspray and a new blowdryer (I finally after 42 years on this planet bought a blowdryer that was more than $10) gives my hair incredible body and lift...ALL DAY! Highly recommended.

I've used this product for a few years and I would never have rated it highly, just passable. Now I am head over heels in love with it. Why the change? I used to layer it on with Heat Glide on top. For some reason I decided to mix the two together (nickel size Thickening Lotion and 3 pumps of Heat Glide) really, really well in my hands before applying. The difference is amazing! I get thickness but without the stickiness or sense of product in my hair. The molecules in Heat Glide apparently coat the Thickening Lotion. I have fine hair but a lot of it however, the compromise to me is that I live in an area with soft water which takes all the body out of it. This technique gave me the hair of my dreams and as such I have increase the amount of product (quarter sized TL to 3 pumps HG) and it just got even better. I swear I could be in a hair advertisement.

Although I have a lot of hair, it tends to turn limp by mid-day. I have a big event coming up and wanted to experiment with products to give me some volume. I absolutely trust Redken (use their All Soft combination in the shower) but wasn't crazy about Full Frame, which tends to dry my hair out - I also wanted something that would protect and define my frizzy, chemically-treated hair. I've used this stuff for 3 days now, and love it! It never leaves my hair greasy. I use a nickel-sized amount and blow dry. I'm left with fresh, healthy, lightly-textured hair that has a consistent body throughout the day. Although it doesn't give me Bridget Bardot locks, it's definitely become my daily pre-blow-dry styling product.

So, this product does what it claims, like most Redken products, but I found it was a little hard to work with at first. I had to figure out the perfect amount to use; enough to have an effect without weighing my hair down. It also may feel a little sticky at first (after blowdrying), but that seems to go away (or maybe I just get used to it). I only use this on the crown of my hair though, since I feel like it might make my hair greasy if used in my bang area. Overall, I like this product though and would definitely repurchase. I do wish it came in pump form though!

I've been using this, along with the Body Full spray (on my roots), and I have to say, these two products are exactly what my fine, long hair needs.
It looks thick & healthy, and gives me volume that lasts all day. Those 2 products are keepers for me!!

Good everyday stylng lotion. I have fine, thinning hair and I can't really say that I thik this makes it thicker, but I do like how it leaves my hair feeling. I have repurchased it several times - it's a good one to have in rotation with some other products.

Purchased this product at my local Ulta store. I have medium-long hair, wavy, FRIZZY and starting to thin out with age although I have LOTS of hair to spare! Joking. I'm still undecided on this Redken product. I like the scent of it as faint as it is. It's got a well balanced consistency to it, neither to thick nor to thin. A little goes a long way even on my med./long wavy, FRIZZY mane of hair that I have. So that's a "score" for Redken as my $$$ goes further (or maybe that's really a "score" for moi, wink). I apply this after I have towel dried my hair, squeezing as much water (excess) that I can without permanently leaving my face stretched back like "cat woman" lol, and then work about a quarter sized amount of lotion through my hair, working it through with my fingers, root's to ends. So far this doesn't seem to build up, dry out, or otherwise do unkind, unwelcome things to this mane of mine. The part that I am still on the "fence" about with this product is exactly my reason for purchase: Thickening Lotion...will it? Not sure just yet.

When I first purchased the product....it DID make my hair look and feel a little thicker...but as I continued to use it, I noticed that my hair started feeling rough. I couldnt even run my fingers through it. Im not a hair expert...so I dont know if maybe I should have used something else along with it...or what...but I was very surprised at the results of the product, and will most likely not purchase it again :(

I saw this in the clearence bin at target for $3, and so I thought, Why not? i'm SO GLAD i did!! This makes my midly thin hair MUCH thicker with a drop the size of a dime. Instantly, too. I could actally see it getting thicker as I moved it through my hair. It doesn't have much of a scent which is pretty conveient, for me at least. the only bad thing I have about it is that it dries my alittle, if I use too much, but not much. this is deff one of my BEST buys ever. I HIGHLY would recomend!! :)

The product I have calls itself Thickening lotion 06. I was hoping it would give my medium length fine hair some body but it doesn't do a lot unless you use tons of it. Not as good as the Redken Body Full Weightlifter.
I'm not sure how to use this product really - it doesn't come in a spray, which I prefer so that you can get into the roots for maximum volume. It comes in a squeezy bottle because it's basically a fairly thick lotion. So I tend to rub some on my hands and then run it through my hair, trying to get into the roots. But it doesn't really work. I use this first, then blow dry, then usually apply another styling lotion afterwards otherwise my hair seems quite lank. I won't repurchase when it's run out.

I really like this hair product because it boosts my hair's body and manageability. I can distribute it easily through my hair without ending up with sticky hands, and it doesn't have a super strong smell.
It's not the best choice for those who want a lot of hold, but it's just what I need to keep my straight hair from looking weighed down and adds a bit of shine as well. I paid about $11 for it at Trade Secret, not too bad, plus a little goes a long way.

I tried this based on reviews here. It cost 13.99 at Target. I like the squirt bottle, product consistency and scent, however the results were not that great. I have medium length fine layered hair that is fragile. This lotion dried too sticky and fingercombing through the sticky parts pulls out too much hair. I blow dry upside down and use the cool shot setting for volume. I did get a little extra volume with this product but I also got some weird cowlick type areas on the top of my head which I have never had. I prefer Bed Head Small Talk which creates more volume with less drying and stickyness.

I'm a former user of the old formula (years and years ago) but don't remember why I dropped it from my regimen. Anyway, as per your suggestions, I bought some earlier this week. I used this product today, a hot, humid, rainy day. Not only did my fine hair that usually looks stringy air dried straight and looked like I'd blown it dry, but it also felt thicker than it EVER has. Thank you, Redken! It gave me a decent amount of body, but more so worked to thicken. I can't wait to use it again.

I got this a my Ulta free reward gifty and boy, what a great choice. This is the 06 thickening lotion that I am reviewing. I have a lot of hair, but it's fine. Two squirts of this, blow-drying and Velcro rollers and VA VA VA VOOM! More body than I know what to do with! LOL I highly recommend this product for fine or thin hair. It really does the job. I'm now hooked on a 12.95 a bottle product! GULP!!!!

I am actually unsure if I would buy this product again. My hair doesn't really seem thicker after I used it. I'll give it another chance to see.

Redken has a new formula now for this thickening lotion. YES, the old formula would tangle my hair like mad and also dry it out, BUT the new formula is awesome! First of all, the alcohol denat. in the product is now no. 8 on the ingredient list instead of no. 2 or 3. This product now does not dry my hair out at all and I have no tangles in my waist length fine hair. It does exactly what it says and adds plenty of full volume which lasts for days. It is also easy to comb thru and is not sticky at all. I love this new thickening lotion and will definitely buy it again! I would definitely recommend it! If you tried the old formula and it did not work for you, then you might want to give this a try!
