"Lively" is one of my least favorite of the HIP duo's. The matte taupe color doesn't work for me at all. The green is a deep forest green with a black base. When I do wear it I wear it with UD Black Palette for a deep smokey eye. I would not re-purchase but will continue to wear the color on occassions.

I love it! Okay, maybe not the taupe side because it hardly shows up on my NC35-37 skin... BUT the green color is gorgeous for smokey eye looks. I don't know why but I get a lot of compliments when wearing the green eyeshadow. It COULD be perfect if only the taupe side had the same texture and pigmentation as the green side.

This is a pretty nice duo-not great, but nice. The lighter shade is a great blending color and it's just a little bit darker than my NC30-35 asian skin. I've hit pan on this shade since I love to use it to blend other colors or as a really natural wash of color. The green shade is like a chalky, not-as-pigmented dupe of MAC's humid. When I apply this to my lids and blend it out, it blends to a greyish green shade unless I use it wet, but it does last all day. I wouldn't buy this again, but I'll use it all up.

Did not have too much luck with this product, the lighter color is sooo chalky and there is much fallout. The green is a little less chalky but very hard to blend. Also the lighter shade hardly shows up on my eye, I think I would need to apply the eye shadows wet in order to get some payoff with little fallout. Would not buy again.

I really like this duo. it's my very first hip duo, and was dissappointed at first, but learned to like it.
The matte medium brown side is a great dupe of MAC's seedling. Works really well as a gradiation color for my nc25-30 skin.
The green side is a great dupe of MAC's humid. You can also use it with mixing medium and use it as a liner.
I find that I reach for this duo quite often and have to say that I got my money's worth since I paid 75% off of the retail at CVS

I usually don't wear greens, but this one works for my skin tone and hair/eye color. I usually add a little green on my lids from Maybelline's Antique Jade. I mix the two greens. I don't mind doing this. As I hardly ever wear green. But this one works.
Update 3/1/11
Don't wear greens anymore. Decided it is just not my style for eyes.

My first purchase of a drugstore shadow--definitely not as finely milled as Lancome, E. Lauder, etc. But these were BOGO free so I decided to try this dark green one.
The powder falls down onto my cheek area when applying with a brush--something the other kinds don't do for me. I like the matte taupe color fine, but the green is more of a smokey grey on me--it's hard to tell it's green.
The "Wicked" combo (deep purple & gold) is more true-to-shade as it appears in the container.

I got this BOGO at Ulta, so great price. The pigment is very good. I didn't like this color combo on me though. I love green eyeshadows but this one just looked too flat. This is my least favorite of the hip duos I have tried so far.

Bought this when it first came out and haven't used it much. Recently I decided to use some e/s that I hadn't used often and found Lively in my stash. Used the taupe shade in the crease and the green on the lid. Put the gold shade from a CG Coffee Shop 4-Kit over the green and wow that was quite the combination! The gold added depth and made the green look very intense over all. Kind of like MAC's Chartru paint but a bit darker and not as yellow as Chartru. All together a nice combination. The name seems to be almost a joke since lively these two shades aint! Would only buy again since the shades work well with gold e/s.

I would not recommend buying this duo. The beige color has no pigmentation whatsoever and the emerald green side is way too dark and has a strange chalky texture to it. The only way I can use this is to use the dark green wet as a liner. It seems like these duos are usually a hit or miss. Usually one color in the duo is great and highly pigmented and the other is blah..but in this case they were both misses. However, the Saucy duo is a good one.

The packaging is very cute. Thats why I gave it a 3. Has a nice little hidden mirror on the bottom with a little applicator inside. But this isnt high intensity as stated on the packaging. It's average. The green barely shows up. Same with the light golden brown shadow. It's over priced and over hyped. Will not buy anything else from this HIP line.

i hate this product! the taupe shadow does not show whatsoever on my fair skin in the winter[let alone my tanned skin in the summer!], and the forest green goes on wayyyy darker than anticipated. would never purchase again, waste of my money....

I picked this up at CVS as a BOGO. I wasn't really looking but a friend wanted the blue duo so i just picked one. The beige looks slightly shimmery in the pan, but on my lid there is no shimmer at all. And on my light skin, it kind of makes my eye look dirty. The dark, foresty green has a little shimmer on me once applied. It goes on a lot darker than anticipated; It looks blackened, like the other reviews say. If you look close enough, though, it does show up green. It goes on a lot "greener" wet as a liner and I like it a lot more that way. Honestly, it'll probably be the only way I'll use it. The compact isn't so bad on top, but the bottom compartment with the mirror and applicators is completely useless because trying to apply makeup in a mirror that tiny with sponge-tip applicators is just about impossible.
I think, even though my use of this is so limited, I'd still buy it again if I ever ran out because the more I look at the green as a liner, the more I really like it.

One side in a shimmery beige i use for hilighting, the other is a shimmery forest green. I love both colors applied wet. They last for a while. The bottom opens to a mirror and 2 sponge applicators that I dont use. I would purchase again

I love this green. The taupe color is OK, but it's a little darker than I would like as an all over color. The green, however, is wonderful for using as an eyeliner or when I want a heavier, smokey eye look, I'll use the brown all over and then contour with the green on the crease and along my top lashline, then use dark brown or black liner. Very pretty. For reference, I am fair skinned with freckles and have dark brown eyes and hair. The green is very flattering on my dark eyes. One of my favorite things about HIP is that the colors are very highly pigmented and show true to color as well as they last a long time. It's like MAC shadows, only cheaper.

I use this shadow duo often. I wear this warm green and taupe paired with a gold eyeliner, but it also works well with green or brown. It can be showy or very subtle. The compact travels well and the lower compartment with the mirror and applicators is very cute.

I bought this BOGOF at Walgreens, so the price was reasonable. This duo is dark green and beige. I used the green wet, as an eyeliner, hoping to play off my dark brown eyes. Unfortunately, the look was more muddy brown than deep forest. The beige was fine, dry, over most of my eyelid, but I have other neutrals that work better. Would not buy this duo again, but am going to look into some of the other colors.

These were BOGO free so I thought I'd try it out. I really wanted a dark, shimmery green eyeshadow and when I saw this I was really excited! But when I put it on this morning it was not what I expected. The brown e/s didn't even show up on my skin and the green e/s looked so muddy looking. It felt and looked chalky. Packaging is okay.

I was looking for a vibrant emerald green shadow, and came across this HiP shadow. It looked like it would fit the bill, but was a big disappointment when I tried it out. The taupe color barely shows up at all on my skin, and the green is more of a muddy black. The texture of these shadows is not nearly as fine as I was expecting - they're hard and difficult to blend. The packaging is bigger than it needs to be, with a hidden bottom compartment containing a sponge applicator.
