i bought this product at a market stall for 3bucks along side heaps of other items ($3 make up? yes please!). to be honest i didnt have high hopes for this thing as i have used mousse eyeshadow before (loreal) and totally hated it. i primarily bought it to use as an eyeshadow base as i didnt think a mousse shadow would be long lasting but i was wrong! i apply this on my eye lids with my fingers and it dries to a powder finish that lasts all day long and i have oily lids! the texture of this thing is similiar to dream matt mousse foundation and doesnt show up as dark as it seems in the pot, but its great for a wash of color over the lids (im NC35) and its just so great for an everyday look thats not too much but nicely pulled together. you only need the tiniest little amount of product that this thing is going to last me forever! regardless i will go and get some more tomorrow!

Total HG! This is the color I wanted MAC's groundwork paintpot to be. on my NC50 skin. this is a perfect neutral base. It's not ashy and I can wear it by itself with just cat eye liquid liner. I picked it up and the Dollar Tree. It was so great that I went back and got two back up's for my stash!

Got in swap so I'm glad I didn't pay for this. Odd dry texture, a relatively high level of sheen but no color that I could discern.

Perhaps I'll try it as a base before I toss it.

I got mine for a $1 at the Dollar tree.
Not very pigmented.
More glittery then I would want.
A very soft brown.
Very sheer color.

HOWEVER this is amazing as a base for other brown loose shadows. It made my loose shadow stay on all day long!

I would buy it for a $1 as a base or a very very soft eyeshadow color but I probably wouldn't pay full price for this.

wow i cant believe how many good reviews this has. i have never encountered a shadow with a worse texture than maybelline's dream mousse. even though it looks creamy, it comes out as kindof a thick, gritty blob and once i start spreading it on my eyelid, it begins to crumble and separate and just becomes such a mess.

this suede color seems pretty, but i can barely get it to show up and have such a tough time blending that it isnt worth the trouble to use.

if you like creamy eyeshadows check out the ones by nars. i know, i know, this is like comparing apples and oranges when you consider the vast difference in price. but for such heavenly application and how long they last, sooo worth it.

I have bought this over and over again. I LOVE it and cannot find anything better by anyone else. I am super pale, and this looks great and makes my green eyes pop. I apply it with a swipper cotton swab. I use it all over the lid. The shimmer is a bit much sometimes, but overall, I love it, day or night.
I don't understand the criticism that it doesn't last...on me, it always outlasts everything else on my face.

I love most of the mousse products, so I figured this in a nice brown shade would be a no-brainer. Unfortunately, the color is a lot more sheer and shimmery than I thought it would be. It IS a very pretty color, but on my medium skin it doesn't even register. It was more shimmery than I was expecting, but not with any huge sparkle particles. The formula is a lot more velvety than either the mousse foundation or blush, and seems to ball up much quicker. Overall, I would not buy this again although I think it may work well for either very fair or possibly very dark skinned people

Okay I LOVE this eyeshadow! I finally found my HG! It feels and looks amazing on. Really makes my blue eyes "pop". And it really seems to last. Can't wait to try the other colors.

i love this eyeshadow. it is probably my HG. it is a very wearable color, it really defines my hazel eyes, and it is foolproof to apply. i love the shimmer, it is not overwhelming or glittery at all, and i even saw this product in a mag, listed as a universally flattering color, which i think it is. you can't go wrong with the texture, and it lasts all day. i can't wait to try some more colors!

I bought this product to use as more of a base color than for a darker, dramatic effect.
I would not purchase this product again because, for me, it's not something that I have to have and I know there are other products out there that do not require fingertip pot application that would work just as well as a base color to build upon.
My day to day eye mu routine normally consists of a semi-smokey eye so I like to have a good slightly darker than neutral shade to build color onto. Suede sensation does not go on as dark as it looks in the container but goes on sheer as others have mentioned in their reviews of the product. I do like the slight shimmer (nothing dramatic). On my fair-medium toned skin, it applies only a few shades darker than my skintone but I notice the color change.
My eye mu routine: UD primer potion, e/l, suede sensation finger application, revlon powered e/s medium color from quad, darker e/s in crease, highlight with lighter colors.
If I dont' use suede sensation, even if I use UD primer, my eye shadow colors don't come out as dark, so suede sensation does serve a purpose.
I think creme e/s are making a comeback into my mu routine but I'd prefer to use some other kind of creme-based shadow (sticks have worked for me in the past) because the suede sensation can go on a bit crumbley at first and the application by finger could go on more even (the whipped effect creates uneveness in the application, it goes on light but not always controlled and not consistently).
Who is this for? Someone who's looking for a sheer shimmer brown to use as a base to build eye m/u on and one who's eye mu doesn't tend to crease. Also, person should not mind finger application.
Again, I wouldn't repurchase because I'm not in love with the product and I feel there are other things on the market that would suit me well and apply easier and more evenly.

Decent medium toned bronze-brown-nutmeg color with a lot of shimmer. I purchased this for my purse/on the road use. Good for lid color, but not the best to apply with your fingers and it's messy. Decent lasting power, but you only get a medium color with it, not a lot of definition, and not very precise application. The lid kept coming off in my purse and product got everywhere. If you apply too much, the product balls up on top of its own layers and looks uneven. I threw this one out as well.

I love cream eyeshadows and this is one of my favorites. Goes on sheer, but you can layer and add more color if you want. Looks very natural and easy to apply. Will definitely try some of the other shades.

I am not thrilled with this eye shadow. I picked it up because it got such great reviews but I was disappointed in it. It looks fine when first applied but is virtually gone within a couple of hours.

LOVE IT! These eyeshadows are fantastic. This color is gorgous! Very neutral and should look great on many skin tones. I find that I can apply these very sheer or I can build up the color if I want. This one has just the right amount of shimmer and looks fantastic on. Highly recommended!

I bought this w/ a coupon for $1 off, so it was about $4. This goes on really smooth and not streaky. It's pretty shimmery, and it's a sheer taupe brown shade. Note 'sheer'. This is not highly pigmented. I tried it w/ my L'oreal decrease under and it had a little more color, but not much. It looks good w/ mac rich ground fluidliner and you can use it for really simple eye looks. I'm not sure if i'd buy again, though

As with all of the Maybelline Dream Mousse products the color is difficult to determine before purchase. The heavy glass jar refracts light so although you can technically see through it the color is different when you get the product open. The plastic lid is colored and it is a pretty accurate replica of the shadow. This is a shimmery shadow and the jar lid is subtly frosted to indicate that. The shadow looks lighter when on your lid. After all the above, this is a nice, smooth mousse/cream shadow which goes on easily. I can't envision this as any more than an eyelid wash because the finger application seems to be a part of the process. If you are looking for a sophisticated shadow application this is not the product for you.

Having had an OK experience with Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse Foundation, I eagerly purchased the new Dream Mousse Eyeshadow in the Suede Sensation shade, which is a medium, shimmery bronzey brown. This is a shimmery but not glittery, slightly sheer moussey-textured eyeshadow that goes on just like the Dream Matte Mousse Foundation and the Blush. It comes in the same type of small glass pot (but smaller) and is applied with your fingerip. It's a somewhat subtle look - you won't get tons of full coverage here - but it's shimmery and really nice. No creasing or flaking at ALL, and the color lasts all day. The color in the jar is far lighter on the lids. This is good for an overall wash of color. Blends well with other powder shadows. I use this all over my eyelid with Bare Escentuals Eyeshadow in Snow as a highlighter on the brow bone. This is the only shade I have tried so far.
