Silky and creamy with great pigmentation. The colour is kind of a medium shimmery taupey colour that steers clear of gold (which is a good thing because gold shadows tend to enhance the sallowness of my asian skin, particularly around my eyes). There's zero creasing with primer (haven't tried it without yet) and no fading. I'm not fazed by the simple packaging - i actually think its quite good because i prefer pots to palettes which can be bulky when i'm trying to travel light.... Also, it's pretty cheap for $13 Australian at Priceline!

Boy was I surprised at the quality of this product. It is fabulous. Silky, smooth, crease resistant and a gorgeous colour. The best drugstore eyeshadow I have ever tried. The price amazed me. Same colour family as Laura Mercier sable (but silkier), Bobbi Brown velvet plum (also very similar in texture), Shu Uemura ME brown 850 and Becca lame, all of which I also own and love. This colour pairs beautifully with a nude base. Wear it in the crease or lid. Looks amazing on brown eyes.

Burnt Bark is simply a beautiful shade. It's a neutral taupe with slightly frosty finish. Looks fabulous paired with Max Factor's Modernist Pink or a light cream/beige shade, and it's neutral enough for even daytime wear. Goes on smoothly and stays put all day long. Doesn't crease like Modernist Pink (unfortunately) does. Reliable Max Factor quality with everything except for the packaging. Max Factor's eye shadow cases have stayed the same for years, which is NOT a good thing. The twist off lid is very inconvenient and the quality of the plastic casing is pretty inferior. I wish Max Factor would get into the 21st century with those.

i love this shadow !
its a really nice warm taupe colour, a good dupe for MAC Satin Taupe, which i also have.
price is EXTREMELY good, tho the packaging is kind of boring, it is also quite easy to use.
it stays on for as long as i want it to, and the colour enhancement with shadow primer is striking.
the shade is subtle and neutral, so it is a perfect colour for everyday wear, but would also look great for night/formal occasions
def. purchase again <3

Probably the best colour I have ever had on an eyeshadow, and I have tried a lot. It really makes my eyes shine, but yet it is quite discreet...... Love it!! :)

My absolute top eyeshadow, gone through about 5 pots of it now - great for both day and evening, I often use it as a base to mix with other colours as well as by itself. It's a lovely shimmery warm taupe, goes on with brush and finger equally well, I use this almost everyday as it's neutral without being boring. Blends well, comes off nicely, I really rate the product but I wish it came in a better/more interesting pot, it's very understated and probably gets missed a lot. Great stuff.

Burnt Bark is great for my dark brown eyes and my light olive complexion. I wear it even without mascara and it looks really good. It's finely milled so even if it gets on your eyelashes it brushes off easily. The creamy consistency of this eye shadow also has staying power and fells smooth and soft on your eyelids. It's cheap, doesn't cause an allergy to my sensitive eyes and is also compatible with different shades of brown/beige/dark red lipsticks. I usually wear mine with Christian Dior Stellar Brown and a hint of gold/bronze colour. The packaging is simple, it doesn't include an applicator which is fine as I apply it with my finger to get the best of the pigment and the feel of the product. I'd buy it again.
