I love vanilla scents and this scent is particularly perfect for the cozy winter weather. My only gripe is that the scent isn't long lasting and having to reapplying it does get annoying. It is quite moisturizing though unlike other lotions I've tried. I'm kind of on the fence about whether I'd repurchase this or not but I do love the smell.

I prefer this scent over the "musky/old-lady" Warm Vanilla Sugar scent any day. It isnt as over-powering, and lasts all day. Will repurchase again.... only in the winter months. Using any vanilla scent during the summer, for some reason, gives me migraines. Overall a good buy.

It smells so syrupy to me. Not like vanilla at all. Another one of those "vanillas" that smell like burnt sugar

Love the scent of this lotion! I owned a small lotion of Fresh Vanilla previously, along with the matching body spray, and recently picked this up again during the semi-annual sale. I love most vanilla fragrances, so it is not odd that I enjoy the scent of this lotion a lot. The quality is great and consistent with other B&BW signature collection lotions. It is moisturizing, but not at all greasy, and the scent of the lotion stays on the skin for a long time. This differs from Warm Vanilla Sugar in the sense that it is a fresh and slightly floral vanilla that isn't too sweet, rather than a rich, foody vanilla. Plus, even though I wear Warm Vanilla Sugar all year around, Fresh Vanilla is much, much more appealing during spring/summer, in my opinion. I remember wearing this on my way to Florida on spring break, and I still continued to wear it throughout the trip. Now, the scent of this brings back pleasant memories of the trip. I like wearing this lotion with vanilla based perfumes as well, because it makes a great combination. Will repurchase during semi- annual sales!

I just brought this at the semi annual sale for cheap, but still on the fence about if I like it or not. I got the body spray years ago before they discontinued the line and liked how it was a less sandalwoody/musky (neither qualities I prefer) version of WVS. I've been waiting to get the lotion or cream version since then, and I don't know if it was worth waiting for. This is a much lighter scent in cream form than anything else that I've tried from BBW, as in I really need to try and smell it, which is good. But aside from the lack of noticeable sandalwood/musk, I smell something else earthy that I didn't smell in the body spray. Clay? I find it interferes with the vanilla smell and I don't like it much.
So good news is that it isn't strong, you can practically pretend this stuff is unscented. Wait, good news for me since I didn't pay full price (and the fact that I like unobtrusive scents in public). But if you go to BBW for the scents and came out with something not (very) scented and paid full price for it, probably not good news. And before you ask, I like the scents, just not the strength of them. Bad news is that when I do sniff myself, I don't prefer this over any other vanilla type scents that I own, probably even less.

I have always loved and worn vanilla scents, B & B vanillas in particular. I wore Vanilla Bean first and then Warm Vanilla Sugar when it replaced that. Fresh Vanilla, however, does not smell like vanilla to me. When I rubbed this lotion on it smelled like fresh vomit . . . I couldn't wash it off fast enough! (I also smell that Fresh Vanilla/fresh vomit in Vanilla Bean Noel lotion when I rub some on.) A manager of a B & B store commented once that "You either love this scent or hate it." So true!

I bought a few small bottles of this back in June during the semi-annual sale for 75% off, and just recently have been using it since I like vanilla scents when it gets cold out. This one isn't as creamy and fresh to me as the original Vanilla Bean from the 90s, but a little better than the Warm Vanilla Sugar since it doesn't have as much of a strong sugary undersmell. I do prefer the Rice Flower & Shea over this one, which I also purchased at the same time and find it to be creamier and softer than this one. However, this vanilla is still articficial and fake smelling to me & it gives me a headache.

If there's one scent I hate with a passion, it's Vanilla. Someone gave me this and I wish I could swap it but I think it's like old now. The smell of this reminds me of flavored cigarettes. If you like this scent, go smell a flavored cigarette so you can realize this smells terrible and stop wearing it.

Why oh why did BBW get rid of this?
I loved this scent for so long but stopped using lotion for awhile.
When I went back to BBW...it was GONE !
The SA informed me it may be at the SAS so I waited and did find some but not enough. I hope BBW brings this scent back as a classic and gets rid on some of the other classics that are lacking in sales.
I do like VBN, but not nearly as much a I love my Fresh Vanilla.

My search for a vanilla scent is over. This is it! Very mild and milky, not too sweet. I love it. This was on sale for 75% off and I had to go back the next day to buy off all the body cream left-all 5 of them, bought 2 the previous day. Very nice to use as a hand cream too. I paid around $2.60 for each 8 oz tube. Great deal!

Although they say they are no longer making this one anymore, this is one I would buy again and again. The smell is very vanilla, like pure vanilla where as warm vanilla suger had a vanilla, muskey, sandlewood smell. This is just vanilla and if you like that vanilla scent, this one is definately for you.

Like some other reviewers, I liked B&BW Fresh Vanilla much better than Warm Vanilla Sugar (which reminded me of playdoh). FV smelled a little more like vanilla, but after half an hour seemed flat, no dimension. If you want a very light, basic vanilla scent, then try FV. IMO, Vanilla Bean Noel is much better and has a stronger vanilla scent, mixed with more sugar, without the earthy clay scent.

I got this cream with the matching shower gel on eBay after reading the rave reviews, and after using up the whole bottle, I've decided that it's a bit too rich for my taste. It's a very deep, creamy/sweet scent that smells like the good vanilla that Ina Garten is always after me to get. :-) I will finish what I have, but probably won't repurchase.

I'm a vanilla freak. Well I ran out of my warm vanilla sugar lotion one time so i decided to try fresh vanilla. both smell so good, but this one is less sweet, which is good. Now im outta this one too...i really wanna try french vanilla though, but they only have that in a candle =( and it smells divine. 5 lippies to fresh vanilla!

I love it. Warm and sweet, and not too strong. I don't smell a huge difference between this and Warm Vanilla Sugar. I like both.

This isn't a bakery type of vanilla scent, it is more of a floral blended with vanilla. It's nice and naturally I am drawn to it, since I love vanilla fragrances. However, I find Warm Vanilla Sugar from B&BW to be more sensual than this. I will mainly stick to that and Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace, which is a die-hard favorite of mine. Fresh Vanilla is very nice though and I might purchase again if I get the chance to, because I can't get enough of good vanilla scents and this is one of them.

I use this product daily as my "signature scent." I get compliments all the time whenever I hug someone. I love this smell much more than Warm Vanilla Sugar. I hope it isn't true that B&BW are discontinuing this scent, but luckily I stocked up durning their last semi annual sale.

I knew that they were getting rid of this last fall because my local store is a flagship and they took it off the shelves. This and brown sugar fig were the 2005 fall scents I think. Anyway, they are both excellent. I love this compared to warm vanilla sugar. That is sick and over used.
This is warm, spicy, sexy. It has more character and is a sophistcated vanilla. I've only seen the spray and body wash at their sale though, but thankfully I have a full bottle of lotion left. UPDATE: They need to bring this back, I'm seriously pissed off at bbw. It's rediculous to make a good product that people love and take it away. It says alot when you keep crap on your shelves and it sells...what is wrong? Are kids buying those scents or something?

I've always been greatly appreciative of all things vanilla, and think I may have found a new favourite in BBW's Fresh Vanilla line. I have this in the body cream and body spray, a soft creamy tantalizing blend of warm vanilla milk and chocolate pralines. Cozy, feminine, and infinitely comforting, this is a wonderful scent for winter. Nothing makes me feel more coddled than slathering the thick rich cream on after a steaming hot shower, getting into my favourite ratty old sweater and trackpants, and settling down in bed with a favourite book or a good movie. I much prefer Fresh Vanilla to Warm Vanilla Sugar as the latter, as every bit as yummy-smelling as it sounds, has a tacky sandalwood note that comes off as a tad too masculine for my tastes. Fresh Vanilla is sophisticatedly feminine, seductive but subtle, and has always won me a compliment or two on the train-ride home. Layered with the lotion/ body cream in the same scent, the sweetly heady whiff of vanilla will linger all day long. My only gripe is regarding the packaging, which I find a little awkward. Though the squeeze-tube is effective to some extent, it becomes difficult to get the remnants of the cream out towards the end. Not one to waste such luscious product, I've taken to cutting the tube in half to scoop out the cream. I wish I didn't have to because it's not exactly the most sanitary thing in the world to do. But oh well. I can't find anything else to nitpick about so I'll round up this review by heartily recommending this line to all vanilla lovers. Even if it doesn't make your heart do cartwheels, it's bound to evoke a purr or two of appreciation.
