I generally avoid the sun (i'm a winter kind of girl anyway) but since it's unavoidable at uni, i bought this sunscreen for my sun protection needs (since my foundation only has SPF15 or something like that...). It has a peachy kind of tint to it that disappears when you put it on and it's as matte as sunscreens go (and oil free i believe - though anything on my face tends to feel oily). However, it changes the general composition of my foundation that sits on top of it, making it slightly more oily than usual. It's not something i reach for often because it hasn't been integrated into my routine yet, but during summer i will definitely put it on (because oiliness is still better than getting burnt...). I'm not too sure whether i would repurchase, but its pretty good nonetheless :)

I've tried this at least three times over the years, hoping it would work for me. No matter what I do it pills too badly. As I watch it rub off my skin with every touch I doubt its effectiveness as a sunscreen. It also tends to block my pores and sweat off in hot weather. I've tried using it with no serum or moisturiser on underneath but the result is always the same, it just won't stay put. It certainly isn't matte finish and it's a pity because the slight tint does even out my skin tone, and I look quite good for the first half hour (as long as I powder the shine down). I really hate to knock an aussie product but this is thumbs down for me.

I have been using this product since I was about fifteen. I lhave been living in Europe for three years now and I am soon turning (ugh) forty - every time I go back to Australia I can see the difference between my skin and that of my contemporaries. I only wish I'd thought to spread it over my decolletage when I was younger.

After trying many chemical-based sunscreens looking for one that didn't irritate my skin, and then trying many zinc oxide/titanium dioxide-based sunscreens looking for one that didn't make me look deathly pale, this was a great find. It's sheer, lightweight, doesn't make me too shiny or too matte, doesn't whiten, and doesn't irritate my skin (or very minimally, anyway - I can't be sure). It can pill, like others have said, but only when it's too thickly applied and then rubbed after it's dried. I've found the best way to use it is to pat it all over my face and then blend it in before it dries. I can then layer over my tinted moisturiser or liquid foundation with no problem. It forms a sort of 'film' on your skin, which actually I like because it gives my skin a smoother texture, like a primer I guess. I'd say it's lightly moisturising - I use another moisturiser underneath in winter but not in summer. It's dirt cheap, so definitely worth a try.

I don't understand why this doesn't have a higher rating! I have used this for a long, long time and I am completely in love with it. While I was on Accutane treatment, I used this over my moisturiser and I never experienced any sort of irritation whatsoever. I am no longer on the treatment, but I still use this on a daily basis in place of moisturiser (my skin has gone back to its post-Accutane state). The tint does nothing to even out my skintone, and the mattifying properties this product claims to have are non-existent. However, this has never stung or irritated my extremely sensitive skin in ANY way, and I love how quickly and easily this products sinks in. It does leave a bit of a sticky feel, but once I have primer and my usual foundation and powder on I'm not bothered by it at all. The product is dirt cheap, lasts a long time, comes in decent packaging and is available at most places. Will continue to repurchase over and over and over.

have used it for 3 days. i think its kinda bb cream. i love its colour :)) and its light and makes my face look brighter. the only weakness is that its still a bit oily for my summer-oily-combination skin. but i think i will buy it again.

My experience is that this is suited to the drier end of combination skin, normal skin and dry skin. I have an oily T-zone but I still LOVE this and am willing to put up with needing to blot now and then.
I use it on my face only. Under my eyes and on my neck I use SunSense Moisturising Face SPF 30+ which is untinted so doesn't discolour collars and doesn't ball up around the eye area when I apply concealer.
This is very quickly absorbed but leaves a slightly sticky finish, which is easily taken care of and soon forgotten. The tint disappears fast but leaves skin looking healthy and glowing, even after the shine is taken care of. It's very flattering to my complexion and I don't need to use foundation after applying it - hallelujah! I do however use an illuminator here and there and I sweep powder over my T-zone. During the day I blot a few times as well.

i got this item on sale for 5bucks a bottle, what a bargain!! i have been needing a tinted moisturizer with SPF since my last one ran out. upon first impression i was really pleased with the low price and the little golden pump it comes with (one pump is enough for my entire face). however the formula is by no means matt, its pretty sticky after you apply it which i dislike. but the sunscreen does feel light on my face and t he sticky-ness goes away after a bit (i usually apply powder after the sticky-ness goes away). it does not control oiliness at all as i see oil coming through the pores on my nose not long after application. if anybody could recommend a facial moisturizer that is truely matt please let me know!!!
edit: i have been using this mixed with a small pump of aloe gel and a small pump of my fave foundation and it is now working so much better. it offers some coverage and its not as crazily heavy on the skin and its much less sticky n less oily

This has been my go-to sunscreen for at least 4 years, living in New Zealand, where the sun is very harsh. I only apply once a day, because I can't be bothered removing all my makeup and sunscreen. As a sunscreen it works very well...too well, because I have just been diagnosed with a serious vitamin D deficiency. It will not make your face matte, it is not an effective moisturiser or treatment product, and it will not work for swimming or exercising. It does ball up near my temples if I touch my face. But in terms of being an effective sunscreen, it does work better than promised, because it only requires once a day application.
To remove it completely, you must use a Salux cloth. If you don't, your skin will become progressively more clogged, and your products will not work. Don't bother using a Clarisonic to remove it, because it will not work, and the brush head will become filthy. Do not use this next to white or pale clothing, eg, on your neck or chest, because it is impossible to remove from light-coloured clothing.
Update: I had to downgrade my rating and remove the recommendation to buy because it contains oxybenzone, a carcinogen. Shame, because it's a good product.

I bought the tinted version of this & had high hopes for it after reading good reviews on MUA & Amazon. But less than 24 hours after using it for the first time I had the worst flare-up of rosacea/eczema I've had in a long time. (A patch test on my arm had been fine). That was 3 weeks ago & my skin still hasn't recovered:-(

Early days but impressed as this is high protection sunscreen. typically I go for physical block but a friend suggested this and she has sensitive skin and has used this for a couple of years with great success. light moisturizer, I do apply after I have used trilogys energising face lotion, which again is light but provides superior moisture. I rec'd to anyone on a budget and who has normal/combo skin.

Oh dear. It wasn't matte, it was very shiny but a dusting of clinique's redness solutions mineral powder got rid of that. It broke me out on my nose and chin and I have very dry skin!! I also now have a rash on my neck?! Will be trying the loreal spf 50+ brownspot matte sunscreen next after my face recovers. Will use up the remainder on my body as the spf it good.

Yet another sunscreen claiming to be matte but which isn't. This provides effective sun protection but was still greasy on my dry-combo skin and tended to melt a lot on my face during summer. I found the tube formula thicker than the bottle formula and although tinted to take away the whitish cast, it still left my tanned summer skin slightly too pale for my liking even though it all blended out. Unfortunately, the only true matte sunscreens (Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch, Nivea Light Feel) all make me break out. A good quality product and good value for money though.

Time has proven how much I like/adore this product. I have been using it for around 6 years, every day. It gives my face a sheen that glows, people comment on my skin when I wear it, it looks natural, it's easy to apply. I buy the large bottle with the gold pump, I use three pumps, rub the lotion between my hands, and then rub all over my face and neck, I love that simplicity. I have one complaint, the product will ball after a few hours, if you can keep your hands off your face it's not such a big problem. I've started using Sofina as a base, and Sunsense on top, this seems to prevent it from balling. My skin is better now at 33 than it was in my mid twenties. Thanks Ego :)

My Mum (who is skin-cancer prone) recommended this product for me, and I have been using it on and off for the past 5 years. I have extremely sensitive skin, and this is one of the only sunscreens I know of that does not make me break out in little red spots (not pimples) or irritate me. Unlike many other facial sunscreens, it's not thick and hard to apply, and it is non-comedogenic. My only problem with this product is that it is not really matte (my face looks quite shiny after application), however, it looks fine after applying powder. Also, you need to take care to blend this cream very well, or you'll get an orange accumulation of it around your eyebrows. All in all, these problems are hardly worth worrying about, as it is an excellent sunscreen. I have never been burned whilst wearing this cream, nor has it ever caused me to break out.

I bought this face product based on my positive body reactive to the cream formula for body and face. However, this product failed to deliver when used on my face. I have to agree with the reviewer below that the word 'matte' is rather misleading because my face turned shiny within an hour of application.
Most importantly, it failed to prevent my face from getting sunburned after being out in the sun for approximately 3 hours. This formula is non-water resistant. I would imagine the product to have dissipated rather quickly together with my slight sweat.
That being said, this product is only good for under makeup if you work in an air-conditioned area. It does not cause clog pores and I did not break out from using it.
I would prefer this product to be in a pump form or cap top for easy usage. I will not be buying this product again.

i've been using this product for 2 years..and so far i'm pretty happy with it.
the price is quite reasonable, although it doesn't really give me a matte finish.., but again all I care is the high SPF protection and it never give me pimples.
the packaging is quite practical too, it comes in a tube and a pump bottle.
this is one of a must have product for me.

When worn on its own this products "balls" up and rubs off quite quickly, especially when you start sweating, so its staying power and sunscreen protection is limited. It also seems to react with my sweat to form a pasty white film. So for use as a facial sunscreen whilst being active outdoors - I dont recommend. It also doesnt appear to have any moisturising qualities as such.
However it does have a great matte finish and works very well mixed with foundation.
