A beautiful head turning oriental smokey vanilla ...just utterly divine and worth every penny..6 hours later & still the beautiful oriental vanilla is there wafting around...leaving a scented trail....If you like Guerlain Shalimar or any of the flankers then this too I would recommend trying.....the bottle is abs beautiful too ..well it is Lalique after all....

OMG! I absolutely LOVE this frag! On my skin it opens with this intoxicating and lucious almost fruity sweetness that quickly dissolves, then this spicy balmy amber emerges(reminded me of amber gris) then the sweetness from the beginning returns but more creamy and nutty this time balanced by the spicy. It is rich (def cooler weather) and sexy. Eventually Im left with something gentle powdery slightly sweet and feminine. Simply lovely journey. This has been added to my favs. I've never paid much attention to the nose behind my fragrances but coincidentally this is the 13th fragrance that I've had and enjoyed created by Dominique Ropion. And contrary to popular belief . . . . 13 is NOT unlucky as the winning streak continues. :-) Mr Ropion and I are kindred spirits!!!

For me, Lalique Le Parfum, seems like an easy scent to put together, but I have been looking for something like it for a long time, so perhaps its not that easy to achieve. I dont get any sharp edges with this fragrance. It gives you a warm aura. It doesnt smell "perfumey." It smells elegant and comforting. I dont get anything floral from it. Just a vanillic fresh field all around me. Its very smooth which makes it seem very elegant and expensive. Its not fuity at all, so if you like the popular fruity musks that are out now, this may not be appealing to you. I reach for this more than any other because I love the smell and it suits most situations. Worth a try!

Le Parfum by Lalique is a very pleasant vanilla-based scent, not too sweet at all, very long lasting but staying close to the skin. I love the fresh opening (west Indian bay, bergamot and pink pepper), which somehow reminds me of pine needles – that goes away pretty quickly though. The rest is quite linear vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood combination, very comforting. It would be a tad too sweet for me if it weren't for the patchouli note, which luckily adds some bitterness to the composition. Wonderful fall and winter scent in my opinion. Very elegant bottle, too.

OMG...another one of the "I CANNOT wear this EVER!" fragrances..joining the ranks of Angel, B&B Sensual Amber and VR Flowerbomb.
Like all the afore mentioned, this was HORRIFIC on em in the opening. This is more peppery than any of the others. I couldn't stand myself the 2x I tried this, for 15 minutes till it dried down. DISGUSTING, but just as I got up to scrub it off my wrist, Le Parfum mellowed into a passably pleasant scent. Powdery, and a little musky sweet. But SO BAD on the opening... Skim chemistry, it is a $%#@&.
Here are the notes, courtesy of Basenotes: Top- Bay Leaf, Pink Peppercorn, Bergamot; Middle- Jasmine, Heliotrope; Base- Tonka, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vanilla.

I tried le parfum when it came out and disliked it at first, few years later i tested it again and it was love at first sniff! the vanilla is perfectly balanced so that it wont get syrup sticky...and lets not forget about the amazing lasting power!
lasted on a sleeve of my jacked for a week and a half, and when i had it on i can still smell a little le parfum on my wrist! if you are demanding with lasting power ( like me) you don't have to worry about it with this one, it even satisfied me ;-) how could you not like it?
perfect ten for lalique and and thumbs up for dominic (owning a few from this faboulos nose)

I first tried this 4 or 5 years ago, drawn by the bottle, and loved it. I did not purchase as I was put off by the price. Tried it again recently and it no longer seems quite so unique. I wasn't a complete fragrance neophyte in 2005, but I was certainly a lot less knowledgeable than I am today. I've sniffed dozens of fragrances that remind me of Lalique since that time, so that's probably why I've reached this conclusion.
That said, it is very, very nice. It's the olfactory equivalent of your warmest, snuggliest comforter. It smells expensive, like an Oriental liqueur steeped in vanilla, but I don't think I'd wear it to go out in; it's far better suited to a sexy night in with your beloved.
Two stars off because it's a little 'been there' to me now, and because of the price.

This is a very strong vanilla. My fiance loves vanilla scents. Perfumes rarely last on me but this one lasts and lasts. I love the way my laundry smells after a week of wearing this perfume. This is the most grown-up fragrance I own.
UPDATE: I now notice a trace of biscotti in this perfume that I don't like. I wear it much less often now. Dropping this to a 4 for the biscotti.

This reminded me a fair bit of Gucci EDP (the brown liquid one), which I had for a while then swapped away, because I found it a bit too...something, woody or spicy. This is perfect though, like a more refined and perhaps slightly sweeter version and not so heavily cloying with the spices. Its got some vaguely gourmand vanilla thing going on, but it's subtle, and to me this smells really expensive, I know that sounds dumb but thats what I think when I wear it. Or maybe I should say elgant, yes it smells elegant but warm at the same time. I am surprised it has pink pepper in it as I dont always do well with pepper notes, but this is all so well blended that the pepper doesnt overpower and is therefore not a problem. I have a sample for now but Im going to buy the FB. I don't normally comment on presentation but I really love this bottle.

Wow! I just tried this for the 1st time today & got a decant. So far I am really liking this. I smell a lot of vanilla in this & I find it relaxing. Not overly strong at all. I think this smells a great deal like Chanel's Sublimage cream in the top & maybe heart notes (at least how I remember it smelling). Dry down is a bit more woody. Nice & definitely different, imo. Perfumer is Dominique Ropion (Carnal Flower, etc.). BTW, Aedes does sell the pure perfume-it's $750 for .9 oz!

I tested this in an airport and was sniffing my wrist through a 10-hour flight. Beautiful oriental, not overly sweet or powerful, but outstandingly long lasting. Sometimes when I wear it for the evening I can still smell it on my pillow in the morning and think it's going to be a great day. Wish they had this in a pure parfum, but as is, it still has a permanent place on my dresser.

I recently purchased this from an online discounter for about $30. Even without considering the price, I would definitely buy this again. It's sweet done right. It's sweet and inviting oriental, not cloying or heady. The fragrance feels tailored and elegant. It is something that will invite others.
The bottle adds to the overall package. It's classic, heavy glass.
The Guide gives this a 1 star. I think that the they should revisit this!
Notes are:
Top notes: west indian bay, bergamot and pink pepper
Middle notes: jasmine and heliotrope
Base notes:sandalwood, tonka bean, patchouli and vanilla.

Bois de Jasmin compared it to Shalimar and said that it was the best release out of the boring bunch of perfumes released in late 2005. The perfume notes are very similar to L'Heure Bleue, which I totally adore, so I scored a FB unsniffed.
Although BdJ wrote that it isn't "just an Angel clone" I think it actually is, because it is precisely the first impression I have. It is extremely sweet. Unlike Angel there is not a single slice of fruit in sight. The good thing about it is that it isn't as loud as Coco, as the spray is easier to manipulate to squirt out only a teeny tiny bit. If it weren't for the shape of the bottle (conveying classiness and expensiveness) I can see it worn and loved by teenage girls who adore candyfloss like perfumes.
Overall a good juice, but not up my street, and released by the wrong house. If only it came with a forewarning / encouragement (depending on how you view it), that is, released under the name of Britney Spears or Paris Hilton, it would have been very successful.

The best perfume I've ever bought and used. I'm very picky about perfume and I was actually looking for something fresh, as I work in a fairly hot place most of the year. However, when I was coming home through London Heathrow I saw it and knew we couldn't get it in my country. I tried it again, and wow!!!! This is HG material. They only had it on 100ml bottle, so I was very hesitant, but the SA was a lovely, not too pushy but still persuasive lady, and I gave in (not that I needed another sweet warm scent!). The loveliest vanilla scent. Beautiful. I can't descibe it well, others have done it before. I just love it! Classy, unique! UPDATE: Now this is what I wear almost exclusively. I hardly ever reach for anything else.

Lalique's Le Parfum is a typical 80's style, loud floral perfume in the tradition of Giorgio, Balenciaga's Rumba (JCE- what were you thinking??) or perhaps Chloe's Narcisse. Upon application, it was a loud floriental that shrieked "I am perfume!" Okay, already. However, just as I was seriously contemplating scrubbing it off my wrist, Le Parfum mellowed into a passably pleasant scent.
Personally, I think Lalique should just stick to glass-blowing.
Here are the notes, courtesy of Basenotes: Top- Bay Leaf, Pink Peppercorn, Bergamot; Middle- Jasmine, Heliotrope; Base- Tonka, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vanilla.

This complex perfume just does not sit well on my skin! Lalique is classified as an oriental and it certainly has a prominent vanilla note along with some sandalwood in the drydown. However, it has a peppery aspect to it which I don't like at all - it completely ruins the lovely jasmine for me - and also a lot of patchouli, which gets stronger and dirtier-smelling on me as the scent dries down. Can't imagine myself wearing this one again!

Lalique Le Parfum EDP is a masterpiece! Advertised Notes: Bay leaf, pink pepper, bergamot, jasmine, heliotrope, vanilla, tonka bean, patchouli and sandalwood. It's creamy and smooth, and it smolders -- yes, it smolders... kind of how Le Baiser du Dragon smolders. (It doesn't smell like Dragon, it just smolders like it.) It's truly an Oriental, but not in the traditional Oriental sense. I had heard the term "modern Oriental" used before, but didn't know fully what was meant by it... that is, until I tried Lalique Le Parfum. And Lalique Le Parfum has Bay Leaf as a top note... Who knew? All in all, this is a beautiful composition from start to finish. If it couldn't get better, Lalique Le Parfum has the most stunning presentation... from the heavy, beveled square bottle & top...to the beautiful box, it makes quite an impression. Seriously, this is one perfume box I won't be throwing away.

The previous reviewers have done an excellent job of describing this wonderful fragrance... I just really adore it! Warm creamy vanilla... but this is not too sweet, there is most defenitly something there that cuts the sweetness and makes it so amazingly beautiful - and very wearable. This is perfect for this cold weather season, perfect for the office; it feels like a warm, cozy, soft cashmere shawl wrapped around you.

Today I had my first encounter with Lalique's Le Parfum, and it's a testament to its wearability that I am prepared to give it a glowing review immediately. Usually I need private time with a fragrance first. Even the amiable Coco Mademoiselle spent a year convincing me – enticing me into Boots, Debenhams or House of Fraser to spray and think, spray and think (we got there in the end. FM’s Musc Ravageur took 8 months; Caron’s Parfum Sacre is currently 6-and-waiting).
I am not surprised to see this Dominique Ropion creation compared to Escada’s sought-after cult fragrance, Collection, because without checking the notes I thought: tobacco, plums, amber, wood. Lalique has made an enveloping, hot-toddy, sultry comfort fragrance which is as sweet as jam (without being cloying), as sexy as a covert touch (without being predatory) and as versatile as cute pumps (without being ubiquitous). It is remarkably like Cacharel’s Gloria, only richer, smoother and more elegant.
The official notes are a surprise. Bay leaf, bergamot, jasmine, pepper, heliotrope, almond, patchouli, tonka, sandalwood, vanilla suggest a more powdery, floral heart with a salty top end and sultry dry-down. On my skin, though, this is a gourmand fragrance through and through. And where are these plums I smell? Its latter stages are quite akin to Guerlain’s L’Instant. Most people think the latter stages are L’Instant’s finest hours so that is no bad thing.
Finally I have found a woody-gourmand which is available at my local department store – it is not discontinued like Collection, Feminite du Bois and Organza Indecence, and doesn’t involve a treasure hunt across Europe like Frapin 1270.
