I looked up the reviews on this one to find out what I was doing wrong ... turns out UD is the one who's wrong for making this!! The liner is hard as a rock, applies way too thick when used wet, and doesn't "smoke" or "smudge," it just goes AWAY when you try to smudge it. I'll prob use it to write notes on the mirror for my husband and kids ... might as well get my $2 out of it (hautelook sale)!

Terrible eyeliner. The worst one I have ever used. The formula of the product is to blame, it is extremely hard and it is impossible to draw a line. I almost poked myself in the eye trying to a draw a line on my top lash line. Thank goodness I didn't pay full price for this.

Thank you Rin13!!! This product is an absolutely dreadful eyeliner but I found a use for it on my brows. My hair is medium to dark brown but I like to keep my eyebrows several shades lighter. Maui Wowie fills them in without looking too dark or harsh. Lasts well too. These pencils have been discontinued and can be found pretty cheap. Still looking for my HG, but I always come back to this when others don't work for me. Thinking that I need to go ahead and get a backup just in case I never meet my HG... :)

Got this is a swap. Haven't used it much for an eyeliner.. but it actually matches my eyebrows pretty well. Really nice packaging.

I agree with pretty much all the previous comments, this is awful. I also got this cheap when ordering the naked pallet. I wanted to love it, seemed like a low key Stash - which is my fav! So excited when it arrived but as soon as I tried to apply I though it was a joke. That pencil will rip the skin off your eyelids, impossible to put on. This in NOTHING like the 24/7 pencils!! Once I got it wet...put under a running faucet...it actually went on, but has to hurry and smudge before it dried. This is the worst UD liner ever, will never use this again. Anyone want to swap? :)

I got this for $6 when I bought my Naked Palette so I could get free shipping. They are now discontiued. Thank GOODNESS.
I tried it today. First of all, the FEEL of the outside of the pencil alone makes me cringe. It's equivalent to eating chalk/nails against chalkboard/hugging a cement post.
I put it on wet, which is the only way to do it. Try to get the color to transfer dry, and you'll poke your eye out. It was like painting with watercolor, and went on very uneven. After it dried, I tried to smudge it, and it just fell out onto my cheeks.
This stuff is just awful. The only thing that appealed to me was the color, so maybe I should try the eyeshadow in it. This pencil was a disaster.

I bought this off of Hautelook's $2 Urban Decay sale.
So that's why I rated the price as 1 star, because that's EXTREMELY cheap. I don't know the full price of this, but whatever it is, it is NOT worth it at all.
I don't mind the colour.. it wasn't what I expected at all.
I was expecting a really light brown, but this colour as some weird yellow tinge to it.
It looks good swatched on my hand.
However, it is IMPOSSIBLE to apply dry.
It tugs my eyelid when I try to apply it to my lashline.
If I'm applying it to my lower lashline, the moisture from my eyes wets it a bit, and then the colour applies much easier.
The staying power isn't so great either.
The other end of the pencil includes a smudger. However, when using it to smudge, the colour completely dissapears.
Overall, a big no no. Waste of my $2 haha

I stumbled across this at Winners (like TJMaxx in the US), alone and neglected on the floor. Intrigued, I picked it up and took a peek inside the box. Smoke Out pencil you say? IMO, it looked more like an eyebrow shade than something I'd put around my eyes. For $3.99Cdn it was worth a try and I completely agree with the reviewers below that this is so darn hard for the eye area (but for brows it's actually ok). An almost perfect shade of taupe for blondes. It could actually be a little softer and still work for brows but it gets a '2' for being workable in that area. For an EYEliner, it's about as hard as a barbeque skewer so I'd advise you to keep it away from that area altogether. Makes you wonder what the heck they were thinking when they made these.
Edit: Okay, I finally tossed this and reduced the rating to "one" lippie. It just doesn't hold a candle to anything I'd use for brows either. If you run across one of these, just turn around and run!

This is one of the hardest pencils I have ever tried to apply. You CAN NOT apply like a regular pencil - it simply will not glide on smoothly - it feels scratchy and can not possibly be smudged. Perhaps I do not understand how to apply this product - but I love the UD 24/7 pencils and cannot understand why this one is so bad. I have been told you can apply this using water - but what is the point of having a pencil if you have to use it with water?

Edited 4.08: While these liners are perfectly usuable, they aren't the best, I've found. They create much too broad of a line, because you have to use them wet, otherwise they aren't soft enough, and you have to be careful of fallout. After the line dries and you smudge it, the color itself is smokey, but rather matte. I prefer Lancome and MAC's Kohls, and Clinique's Cream Shapers. These are NOT a godsend for doing a smokey eye, which really depends on a cream base and the proper use of shadow + liner and crease color + highlights. I will use these up but I won't repurchase. I love this color, though. Too bad it's not a creamy kohl formula.
