I realize this is a great cheap hairspray. My hair can get frizzy and lose its shape easily. After learning about a hair changing tip about taming all my loose hairs (from breakage) by using hairspray and combing it through your hair; I used the only hairspray I had which was this one. And my hair looked instantly better! It calmed down my hair, took out some of the fluff from blowdrying, and tamed all my little flyaways when I combed this hairspray through. My hair looked like a million bucks! The style held up well as well. You can use too much of it and it will cause your hair to look greasy.

I understand that hairspray with propellant in it is scented to cover the smell of the propellant. But dear Dove, does the scent have to be so overpowering that it lingers from sunup to bedtime? Overpowering your perfume? Blech.

This hairspray also has a dry, powdery finish and a nonexistent working time. Hate it.

Why oh why did you change a good thing Dove? I used to LOVE the old version of this in the greenish blue/white can. but the new version in the pink/white not so much. if you spray too much on your hair it turns your hair white. this might be good for a quick spray but i need more hold and dont want to walk around w/white hair. Please bring back the old formula!!!!

Yesterday, I was reminded why the Dove Flexible Hold is my favorite hair spray. Here’s the story: I had a hair appointment and purchased a small travel size container of Be Sexy Volume Hair Spray. I got home and was getting ready to go to dinner, used some of my new Be Sexy Spray, and left the house. A little while later, I went to run my fingers through the side of my hair, and I couldn’t. They got about 1 inch away from my scalp and would not budge! The hairspray had formed some kind of ultra-tangled net on my hair, and had frozen it into a voluminous wiry mess.

I’ve used Dove Flexible Hold for the past 3 years, and have never been disappointed. It provides just enough hold but doesn’t feel at all sticky or hard. My hair is coarse, thick, and wavy – but I style it in every form imaginable. Dove has never let me down, and I love the fresh scent of their hair spray. I was looking for a product that would build volume, so that’s why I bought the Be Sexy – uh if I wanted volume like that, I would have just bought a football helmet! The Dove spray doesn’t provide much volume, but it holds your style, prevents frizz, and allows your hair to look naturally pretty without feeling stiff.

This is the only hairspray that I use. I've strayed and tried others, but always come back to this one.

I have very thick, multi-texture, wavy hair that I flat iron almost every day. This hairspray goes on light, but has hold that lasts all day. When my hair was short and flippy it held without making it look crispy or dry.

I am very sensitive to scents and I don't find this one to be strong at all, it's of the reasons I keep coming back to this product. The scent also fades quickly and isn't noticeable, even by others, after a couple of minutes.

This really is the best hairspray I've tried...and I've tried a ton.

This is my favorite hairspray.

I use it daily, and it holds everything in place, but isn't too "hard", and my hair is still able to move.

I love the way it smells, and I can't imagine switching to another hairspray.

It's regularly $5.99-$7.99 depending on the store, but it goes on sale regularly, so I buy it for $1.99-$2.99. I usually buy 3 or 4 whenever I find it on sale.

The pros are that it doesn't have a ton of superfluous ingredients and has a pleasant scent.

However ... the scent is really overpowering. I'd rather use a hairspray that smells nasty for 10 seconds, then stops, than one that makes me smell soap and powder all day long.

I have thick, straight hair, and this spray does not hold curls in it very long. I have had dramatically better results with Nexxus Comb Thru, which is at least as flexible and soft if not more.

For those who like the scent, don't need holding power, and like the very reasonable price, maybe. Otherwise, there are better choices out there.

The hold is not flexible, it is more like, a medium hold. No crunchy, helmet hat hair. This is more of a finisher for a non-hairdo. For example, if I wear my hair down, I'll use this to give it somewhat hold without looking like a complete 'do. It is scented, so your hair will have the subtle smell of it.

This hairspray holds ok - but, it doesn't really provide a "flexible" hold, and it takes a long time to dry. I prefer a drier hairspray (like Biolage).

I wanted to like this but it just didn't work for me. I have a lot of hair, but each strand is very fine. This hairspray seemed way too wet and heavy and it didn't hold at all. In fact it made my hair more limp than before.

Utterly rubbish. I think that the people who are having success with this product holding the curl well have naturally wavy hair to start with. To just hold my bangs in place I have to spray a whole ton of it, and as for holding curls, they go limp within two hours. The scent, although not unpleasant, is rather overpowering and is stronger than my perfume, and I have no desire to walk around smelling like dove hairspray. I will say it is non-crunchy and doesn't leave a thick layer of residue on hair. I say try this if you have naturally wavy hair and want to add some definition to your curls. If your hair is naturally straight, try something else.

This is an awesome product. I sprayed it on my curled hair and it really lasted the entire day. And it smells great! My hair did not feel crunchy or stiff at all. After using it, I was able to lean back on my curls, fiddle with my hair, and toss my curls without having to worry that it would lose its shape and texture! I love this product. Definitely will buy once I run out.

I just finished curling my hair and i needed some hairspray so i was looking for some hairsprays in my moms drawer and i saw this one. I didnt think really highly of it I heard some ups and downs of it but anywho i decided to try it. I was so surprisedon how well it worked. First of all, i loved the nozzle of it it sprayed so evenly all throughout my hair. Second, it did not leave my hair all crunchy and sticky like some hair sprays do. And thirdly, it lasted for the whole day. I was so surpried on how well it worked. I heard that Lauren Conrad liked it, at first i didnt know why, but when i tried it i knew.
This worked so well for me, and i would definalty purchase this again.

This stuff is so light and clean feeling. Leaves no sticky or tacky residue. Just nice flexible hold. I have very fine and thin hair (lucky me) so this is perfect for me. Finally, my hair doesn't feel like cement. The smell is very nice too, fresh, not alcoholic at all. And the price is great. Will repurchase.

I love this! I use it nearly every day. It holds without making my hair stiff to the touch, which is good for my boyfriend, and it doesn't weigh my hair down, so I can wear it curly or straight and not have to worry about my style falling. I live in the south and it is very humid here, so curling straight hair is a gamble, but this hairspray makes my style last until I wash my hair every time. Even if I go out dancing, even if its windy out, even if it rains! Plus the smell is great! A lot better than the nasty chemical smell that most hairsprays have. My only problem is that sometimes the sprayer doesn't spray will with the non-aerosol in the bigger bottle. I bought a smaller spray bottle to pour it into and that helped.

I like this hairspray a lot. I have had one can over the course of 2 years, which tells you I don't use hairspray that often. I use it after I use hot rollers. It does not make my hair crunchy at all. It does a decent job at holding the curls. I like it because it is not "beauty pageant" hairspray. Also, it smells good. It does a spectacular job of soaking up the oil of 2nd day hair.

Perfect hairspray. It goes on light and has a pleasant smell. I have already been through several cans and will no longer use the expensive salon stuff. This definitely does the trick and still looks soft and touchable.

HG Hairspray for me. I dont even look for anything else...I just go straight to the dove section and grab it! It smells awesome.....works perfect on my hair (long, thick, wavy) plus the price and packaging are great too! I cant tell you just how much I love this stuff! I keep two cans around at all times :-) I've been using this for atleast two years....maybe longer.....try it out!

Hairspray usually doesn't agree with my temperamental curly hair. Usually is just causes my frizziness to stay in place. However, this hairspray is simply amazing. It does not weigh my curls down or make my hair appear coarse looking. I get a shiny light hold. It is great to use in conjunction with other styling products because it won't add to the buildup.

This inexpensive hair spray is all I need to keep my fine hair in place. It has a pleasant aroma and isn't sticky. I don't need heavy products, so this is perfect for me and the price is phenomonal!
