I bought this based on Lisa Eldridge's recommendation in one of her videos. I have been debating my review for so long I have now completely run out of it (the bottle is 1 oz but I found that 1 pump was enough for my whole face and neck). I really like the smell--it smells like cedarwood to me. The texture is also nice and I don't think it broke me out. A review of 2.5 might be more accurate but I thought a 2 was too harsh so I gave it a 3. It doesn't do very much, or possibly anything at all from what I can see in terms of hydration, My skin still seems pretty parched even when I use it and isn't drier when I don't. I am therefore not going to be purchasing it again and am hoping that I find something better. My next serum is going to be Phloretin CF by Skinceuticals.

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. I bought the Lactic Acid serum for $95.00 online from this spa as I heard great reviews by Lisa Eldridge, famous make up artist and youtube guru who was probably paid by this spa to review their product but unknowingly I was a sucker for love of all things skin care. I really trusted this would be a great product, however when I received it, the tube was literally a 10 pump max tube and the actual product smelled straight like perfume. I don't think anything that should be good for your skin should have so much fragrance in it. However, I did give it a try, I used small amounts of it as my skin is super thick and can handle most anything. oh no not this product, I broke out in huge cystic acne in odd places such as the left side of my face right by my eye. It literally is taking me 2 months to get rid of the side effects. I was VERY disappointed in a small product with big promise at an outrageous retail price point. As well, since I ordered it online and did not read any small print they would not return the product. :( So now I am stuck with tons of Cystic Acne still on the side of my face and $95.00 in the hole! I feel like I have been robbed. I asked them if they would accept the return but since it has been over the 30 days I can not. I didn't know I had 30 days as most places accept returns no questions asked at any time. I am so used to awesome customer service like at Sephora and ULTA that I am not accustomed to mom and pop shops on rodeo drive that will not take returns beyond the 30 days. It is sad as it makes me not want to buy from local area shops and to support them because in this hectic crazy world, who has time to return a product after a certain time period. I am very disappointed, please DO NOT buy the Lactic Acid Serum, it is definitely a rip off!

I would have to agree with the review below mine. Ive been using this serum for over 3 months now and its Okay but not worth the huge price. First of all, I'm combo/oily and cannot wear this in the morning or else my makeup gets greasy. There's no difference with my pores or any acne that I have. There is some slight exfoliating effect going on. And I happen to really like the herbal smell to it. Other than that, that's all there is to this $70 serum. I could've just put in a little more money and bought a skinceuticals serum. I guess I'm not impressed with this because I've used way better AHA and BHA products like my beloved Biomedic conditioner solution and skinceuticals. Makeup Artist's Choice makes very good high quality lactic acid peels which I highly recommend.

I have been using this product for about a month and I can’t say that I have seen any negative, or positive effects on my skin. It didn’t cause my oily, acne prone skin to break out or dry out but it also hasn’t had any clearing, pore tightening, tone correcting or hydrating effects like it claims. For such a hefty price tag I expected it to do at least one of those things. On top of that, the smell is quite unpleasant…I like herbal smells, but this doesn’t smell herbal, it just smells bad. Also, I find that I cannot wear it in the morning, only at night. I normally only wear serums at night, but this product says oilier skins should wear it in the morning, but when I do my makeup landslides down my face by 10 am. So, based the fact that it has some drawbacks and nothing to offset them I will not be repurchasing this product and I would not recommend it to anyone else.

An amazing product. Smoothed my skins texture, my pores are less visible and I look healthy. I will never be with out this serum as long as they keep producing it.

It's pricey at $70 a bottle but now I can stop spending money on things that promise everything and do nothing.

The smell is kind of earthy but fades very fast.

The best part is I know what is in it. No funky chemicals that I can't pronounce. All and all a great product. Worth every penny.

I have wanted to try this product for a long time, but the $70 price tag kept me far, far away. Luckily, I found out about skinwest.com, and it was just in time for their V-day sale, so I purchased one. I've been using this serum for about 2 weeks now, and I'm really loving it. The serum leaves my skin soooo incredibly smooth, mattifies my face of any shine, and evens out my skin tone. I like the light, almost-liquidy texture of the serum, and even though I didn't like the fruity/herbally scent at first, it's growing on me. At this point, I can't say it prevents breakouts, but maybe it's soon to tell. I can say this serum helps the blemishes I currently have heal quicker and the brown/red spots fade faster. So far, this is an excellent serum, and I would definitely purchase again. =)

Sadly, I love this product and so does my skin. The price is crazy, but I have not found anything else that is comparable. It helps my oily skin remain sane and blemish free and even deals wtih left over marks. If anyone knows of a cheaper alternative, please let me know. But so far this is it for me.

Like other reviews, I find this product to be wonderful. I use it in the morning before moisturizing. For evening I like to use SkinCeuticals Serum 15 AOX. I like to apply Kinara's hydrating serum daily instead of setting aside time for a peel. It is absorbed into my skin very quickly. It contains glycolic acid and lactic acid which has made my skin smooth to the touch and visibly clearer. I had severe acne and this product has done nothing but improve my skin. You can find this at Kinaraspa.com.

I have tried a lot of products for my adult acne. I even bought a Zeno. It figures that after that expensive purchase, I'd find something that works better. For the first time in my life I'm free of hormonal breakouts, and cysts! All I'm left with are easily clearable blackheads where blemishes (that's putting it gently) would otherwise have formed. I started using Lactic Acid home peels and noticed a dramatic improvement in my skin. But then I realized I need something I can use every day to get a more reliable result. This is probably one of the only lactic acid serums out there. It also contains glycolic acid. The consistency is perfect, thick, crystalline, non-oily and stays that way. It drinks right into the skin. I think I can stop purchasing and praying -- this is the one that works. Fortunatley for me, I live in LA, so I can swing by the Kinara Spa and buy it without paying shipping and handling (you can buy it online). One bottle is 60$ and lasts me about a month and a half since I use it upwards of 2 times a day. It smells great too. I am sensitive to perfume, but I love the floral-fruity smell of this (which dissipates, but is great while you are applying it). Because it is a real joy to use, unlike other "acne" products (which is how I view this), I use it consistently and therefore I'm getting results. Basically, my skin is both clearing up and becoming more even-toned. What more can I say -- if you have pesky breakouts that you just can't control, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! UPDATE: One bottle is lasting me just over two months and I use this 2x a day, sometimes upwards of 4x a day when I come home after an errand and wash off my sunscreen. I can't speak highly enough about this.
UPDATE: I have seriously edited my skin care routine and find this too expensive. Skin Biology has a similar serum, LacSal with 8.5 percent lactic acid for about 20$ and I'd give that a try if I find myself in the market for a lactic serum....

**EDIT: I've been using this product for about 4 weeks now and my skin has NEVER looked this good. My skin tone is even looking and SUPER smooth. I still get my that-time-of-the-month pimple (I just spot treat with a little tea tree oil). My routine is: Morning- wash with Oil Free acne cleanser and literally slather on some Neutrogena SPF 45. Evening- Wash with Cetaphil and use 1-2 pumps of the Lactic Acid Serum. This stuff is the truth, I've used everything even ProActiv which totally bleached my skin and it wasn't that clear either.**

This serum is awesome!! I have oily acne-prone skin. I just started using this product 4 days ago, and i can already tell a difference in the texture and appearance of my skin. It'sa little pricey, but WELL worth it.

I LOVE this serum. This is a clear, thick exfoliating serum developed by Kinara Spa in Los Angeles, a favorite of many Hollywood actresses. I use this in the evening two or three times a week (topped by a drop or two of Neal's Yard Rose Oil on dry spots). I wake up in the morning and my skin is radiant (and that is not a word I use lightly). My skintone looks remarkably even and my pores appear smaller. I am in my mid-thirties, with combo skin that is normal/oily in summer, normal/dehydrated in winter, and very very acne-prone. This serum has not irritated my skin in any way, nor caused any breakouts after three months of steady use. I alternate it with IS Clinical products, and my skin has just improved remarkably. Although the name implies that it is "hydrating," I do not find it moisturizing enough to use on its own--I think anybody other than oily skins will need a bit of moisturizer over it. It's available at www.kinaraspa.com.
