This is the very first toner I've ever used, and that's because my friend demanded I try it out since I break out a lot, and this might help cleanse my pores and skin and reduce acne. I don't know if I've seen my breakouts get any better, but I do notice that my skin isn't as dry nowadays. It's very refreshing after a long day and shower, but I think I need more time and more usage in order to determine if this has a real big benefit to my skin. So far, it seems great as a type of moisturizer, but it has yet to tighten my pores and thus treat my zits.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VITAMIN E?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I still really like this toner but I loved it even more before they changed the formula, Thayers removed vitamin e from this toner,(vitamin e is very good for skin). also I don't know if this has anything todo with the vitamin e or not but sent of the formula change this toner doesn't smell as much like roses as it once did. I still recommended this and will continue to use it but I really wish they had had not changed the formula!
don't try and fix something that was perfect, also i find the reviews on how this doesn't remove eye make up well, pointless and ridiculous. This is a TONER its meant to remove extra dirt and oil post cleansing and to freshen your skin, NOT for removing eye liner!

I spent a long time being terribly confused why this wasn't reacting to my skin the way it seemed to be with everyone else...making them smooth and moisturized. On my skin it burned a bit and left me red and with more spots than usual. After doing some research, I learned that witch hazel tends to respond badly on rosacea skin. I'm sure this product is lovely for most, but I wanted to warn others like me who might be having (or had) irritation with this toner and let them know what the culprit might be.

This is by far the best toner I have ever used. I have extremely acne prone skin, and this is so good for using after I wash my face to pick up anything my face wash didn't or freshening up after school. It smells absolutely amazing. I also really love this because my acne wash is drying, and after I apply this I don't even need a moisturizer because of the aloe content. It soothes my skin and dries out blemishes. This is great stuff!

I'm undecided on this. I purchased after seeing feet reviews, but I'm not do sure it's really any better than the cheap witch hazel from target. it definitely smells better, but I don't think it really moisturizes my skin or clears pores. I have noticed that it helps with my oil production so that's the reason for 4 stars. something this natural that actually helps my oil slick is awesome. I do think this may be causing the occasional breakout, but I'm not 100% on that yet. Will update once I tweak my skincare routine.

I have been using Thayers Witch Hazel for a long time. I discovered it a Whole Foods and bought it based on the awesome reviews on MUA. I recently started back on an aggressive skin treatment for my cystic acne (See my review on Ziana if you want more details). My skin is a bit flakey and a regular toner with alcohol is an absolute No-No at this point. My routine consists of washing with Bliss Labs Pore Dissolving Cleansing Milk paired with my Clarisonic. I then use the Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel, let that sink in for 5-10 minutes then put my Ziana cream over top. The toner has really helped even out my skin tone and prep my skin for the smooth and even application of the Ziana cream. I love how this stuff feels, smells and makes my skin glow. It is expensive compared to other brands of Witch Hazel, but you get a natural product with natural preservatives and no added garbage like silicone.

I LOVE!! this product! it makes my skin really smooth and baby soft! :) What girl does not want that?! I also notice that when I apply this (instead of moisturizer) before my makeup, my makeup will go on smooth and flawless. Now I can not say it will be the same for everyone but this product definitely works for me. I also love the smell! it smells divine!

Okay, first off: I've on my third (technically fourth) bottle of this and the first two were amazing - definitely five stars - made such a huge difference in my eczema and sensitivity.
Now the bad: the formula has changed, and if you have skin that is in any way sensitive this may not be for you anymore. I went to rebuy my bottle in June and opened it up, dabbed it on as usual and begin to feel a strong burning sensation - the area near my lips definitely tingling. I freak out thinking my skin is berserk and ask to test it on bf without saying anything and he says it's making his skin tingle/burn. My sister on the other side of the country had an even worse reaction after I recommended it for so long. I had a bit left of my last bottle and tested that and it was perfectly fine...
I emailed them in hopes of hearing that my precious HG toner hadn't changed and they assured me it hadn't but that it was probably a bad batch with too much preservative (grapefruit extract) so I returned it to exchange explaining the situation. Yep same thing. Diluted it 1:3 with plain rose water and it helped, but still burns. I've been seeing more reviews pop up with my exact same situation from repeat customers so I'm not crazy lol, just sad to have to start looking again..

It broke me out ! I used it for almost 2 weeks and I have cystic acne like crazy now :( almost everywhere now ... and this is the only change I made in my skincare routine, so I am pretty sure it is the culprit, although I fail to understand why :( the ingredients are all natural.
I wish I didn't wait so long...
anyways, good luck to all of you :)

This stuff is Number One! I usually make my own antioxidant toner but I needed something more moisturizing and soothing to switch it up occasionally. Aloe is the BEST skin nourisher and moisturizer. (I actually use a healing after-sun aloe daily in lieu of 'body lotion' but that's a story for another thread).
Not too stripping yet helps remove traces of grime, the witch hazel helps clear my pores, and formula leaves my face dewy and fresh. Pleasant smell and natural ingredients. I am an instant forever fan. Very cheap especially considering the top quality.
