Chiaroscuro is such a pretty twist on the typical metallic nude! The pearly green effect is eye catching, yet subtle enough that it is still suitable for office/work wear.. I find it too flatter my NW15 fair skin, and it looks much prettier on then in the bottle for me. At three coats the opacity was perfect. The wear time was about 4-5 days without noticeable chipping when using a top and base coat. Overall it's a pretty color, one that I don't have any others like it. I would repurchase.

Posted a picture of how the color looked on my fingernails. It's a very shiny neutral that I received compliments on from coworkers when I first wore it. Would purchase again when I run out.

In the bottle Chiaroscuro is a peach color with gold and green flecks. But on my nails it's peach mixed with gold with no green to be found. Too bad because the green in the bottle added a cool dimension. The application is great and only took two coats to make it perfect, very easy to work with and it defiantly has staying power which is plus. China Glaze for me is a winner in both of those departments. Though the color is unique and beautiful in the bottle, I didn't feel that Chiaroscuro looked that great on my skin tone as it didn't have enough contrast. It looked gorgeous on my friend who is darker complected though!

I just purchased this from a wholesale nail store which sells older china glazes and opis. I am satisfied because i only paid $2.50! This is a nude/mauve iridescent polish that shines a little bit greeeen in the sun. Not tooo green, but when I think about it, I tend to like it less. I slightly wish that it would shine more pink. I still love this a lot because it goes well with anything, especially during the summer! I only would not buy this again because I always tend to always buy polishes like this and I'm always looking for new ones! (i'm a pink and neutral polish person.. if you are too, this one is for you) By the way, it does go opaque in 2 coats but I use one coat on top of a nude color and that works just fine :)

I don't get why people are saying this is a dupe for NARS Orgasm. Just goes to show how different things show up on different people I guess, lol. For me, it's dead on Nomad's Dream by OPI with the only difference being more green flash. Seriously - put the 2 next to each other and you will see. They are both a sheerish peachy caramel color with subtle green flash. Anyway, I love it and it is better than ND imo because of the stronger green flash.

Love this polish! Have it on my nails right now. So beautiful! Really femine color. Very light pink (had to put two coats) with gold shimmer. Dont let the bottle fool you, its so pretty. :)

This looks peach with green shimmer in the bottle but the shimmer looks gold on my nails. It looks very similar to NARS Orgasm in my opinion. This is subtle and chic but still very interesting. It looks really good on my NC20 skin. Good coverage in 2 coats.

Chiaroscuro is a nude peachy pink, topped with fine detailed sprinkle of pale pale gold and green shimmer. The shimmer is so fine that it creates a sheen rather than sparkle. It looks not mature, nor does it look girly. It looks lady-like. Very romantic and pretty! Formula is sheer. 2 coats is a necessity not an option. But like all sheer nail polishes, it is relatively fool proof. Formula is sheer. 2 coats is a necessity not an option. But like all sheer nail polishes, it is relatively fool proof. Lasts a very very long time on nails.

I am IN LOVE with this!!! This is one of the first polishes I have tried from China Glaze and I could not have chose a better polish :) I didn't realize until after I had it on that it is a DUPE for NARS' ORGASM!!!
I will have to say that you must put on @ least 2-3 coats for it to be pigmented. It is a bit on the sheer side but I just apply it with a 'heavy hand' lol
I have only had this for a short period of time but it's a HG :)

I absolutely LOVE this polish. I recently swatched NARS Orgasm nail polish at Sephora and have been looking for a cheap dupe ever since. I was shocked to find that this color is very similar and a fraction of the price. I think it looks much better on than in the bottle. It also lasts a long time. I've bought other China Glaze polishes that seem to chip immediately, but this has lasted a few days now with no chips!

This is a pretty duochrome that's not too wild. The base color is a satiny, neutral pinky peach and the flash/interference is an ethereal pale green. That sounds like ti would look strange, but it's actually very pretty and subtle and reminds me a little bit of pearls or seashells. No problems with application, wear or the price.

I'm an NW20, and I like to use self-tanner in the summer so my hands and feet end up a bit darker with more of a yellow undertone. This is a great natural summer pedi color. Less sheer than I thought it would be, it's a gold/pink/peach with lots of gold frost. Reminds me of NARS Orgasm blush! Looks great and wears well - especially in the summer when my pedi takes a beating in sandals. When it does chip it's not very noticeable. Love!

It's strange, I bought 6 polishes at Sally because of the whole buy 2 get 1 free thing and this was the last one I tried and its totally my favorite of the batch. I usually go for bright and glittery nails and I picked this up to round out the 6 and to see if I would like it. None of the others have lasted more than 3 days on my nails because I was impatient to try the next one, but I think this one will last and I will reapply when it starts to chip.
I love love love this color. I have light/medium skin that's NW20 on my face, but my hands are tanned a few shades darker and this polish looks very pinky-nude on me. It's basically the color of my hands but more pink. After applying it dried pretty quickly. The only CG polish that I've had trouble with in the drying department is the glittery silver one that I top a lot of the CG brights with to make them more interesting and shiny. I didn't see the green in this polish until reading the rest of the reviews and turning my hands to make them hit the light just right, then I can kind of see the green shimmer. Now I can't stop looking at it in the light.
Buy this color, it is awesome. I will totally re-purchase.

My 1st China Glaze polish it's lovely colour reminds me a lot of Nomad's Dream from OPI which is probably my fav colour. It applied nicely, I used 2 coats, it chipped about the same as any OPI polish does on me. Great colour for work. Would repurchase.

My first time buying China Glaze polish. Also bought the China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat. Not sure which one is so wonderful, but the polish has stayed on my fingernails for 4 days with very minimal wear just on the tips. I have ridges and that creates a challenge for all polishes. The color is a nice neutral and the green tint is subtle, doubt I would have noticed if it hadn't been mentioned on here.
Edited: Loving this more each time I wear it. Adore the color.

Such a strange, pretty color. Chiaroscuro is a sheer peach with gold and green duochrome. It looks like it would be too warm for my skin tone but its sheer enough that it works (but I'll bet it would look great on warmer skin tones). The green flash is subtle but definitely noticable. CG formulas can be hit or miss but this one dries quickly and wears well. It has that beautiful super shiny finish that I love. This is a great year-round sheer color with a twist. EDIT: After using this color a couple of times I've decided it's just a bit too warm for my skin tone. But it is still a gorgeous color and I would highly recommend it for warmer skin tones.

I bought this at Sally's a while back, when they were having a two in one sale - out of all the China Glazes available, this was the one I chose to purchase with Avalanche. However, it sat in my drawer untouched, because I was so unsure about it.
It's a pinky peach, with a twist: it has a green flash. At least in the bottle, anyway. I finally applied it and was delighted with the China Glaze consistency - thinner, and not at all streaky. I was happy to see that the green tinge wasn't as apparent upon application. It's so glossy and shimmery, not sparkly, and it makes for an incredibly glamorous pedicure.
The verdict? Now one of my favorite go-to polishes. It works all year long, and is just as appropriate for the office as it is for an evening out. The price tag isn't bad, either. Under $5 CDN, if I remember correctly.

Ok color, i can see the green sheen to it, it looks like my natural nail color to me. But for a natural day/work look it works I believe i will eventually end up swapping this as I cant see desiring several mani/pedi's out of it.
