this stuff works. I separated my hair in to section, put product on the roots only and blew dry. all day volume

update: makes me breakout(like every styling product I have ever used).

HOLY CRAP...I don't know why I never used this product until now!
Ever since a couple of weeks ago, I've always been sceptical about volumizing mousses or cremes that you'd put in your scalp. However, once my hairdresser styled my hair and gave me HEIGHTS of volume, I began searching for a cheaper alternative (She used Bumble & Bumble) to a volumizing creme/mousse.

I purchased this at a local grocery for under $10. I tried it last night after I washed my hair and it does an amazing job!! Not as great of a job as the volumizing creme by B&B, but this also doesn't come at the price of B&B products.

I followed the directions. Applied a generous amount (I have a TON of hair) onto damp hair, focusing on the roots. I then blow-dried my hair as usual, and once my hair was 90% dry, I began drying my top layers opposite of how they usually sit on my head to get extra volume. As I was blow-drying the hair that had the volumizing mousse, I could feel the product expanding as my fingers got a tiny-bit sticky, and I could feel that my hair had some grip/texture in it. When I finished stying it, I was amazed! I had amazing volume that I normally would not get through regular blow-drying! On top of that, the volume stayed!!

The product itself is a very emolient mousse, not too thick but definitely has some texture to it. It smells OK - the smells wears off after a while. What impressed me so much was that it gave me the volume that I thought I would never achieve from just blow-drying and this product!! In addition, because there is a slight stickiness to this product, I feel like it will definitely hold the style/volume!

I feel like the only downside to this product would be the product collecting in the roots if you don't shower it thoroughly but other than that, I definitely feel this is worth your money! A bang for your buck! I have coarse, asian, stick straight hair with long layers and if I was able to achieve such amazing volume, then imagine what it could do to finer, shorter-layered hair!!
I definitely think this is a MUST if I'm going out. I would shampoo, use this, blow dry, set it with velcro rollers, back comb, and curl to get the most voluminous hair ever!

I will definitely purchase this again, and this will definitely become my cheap HG volumizing product!!

This mousse is so good for volume. It gave me serious va va voom hair, I was so surprised the first time I used it. It smells good and doesnt make my hair look dull the next day. I've tried a million volumizing products and would say this is the best mousse. On the bottle it tells you to use 3 full pumps and even though it sounds like a lot it really does work best when you use more.

I really like this mousse. It leaves my hair bouncy and soft. It smells good and doesn't make my hair feel greasy or oily like alot of other products. I would definitely repurchase this because it makes my hair look really good.

This is the BEST volumizing product that I have EVER used! Seriously! I did my hair in the evening and when I woke up the next morning it was STILL voluminous! How is that even possible? Normally when you wake up your hair is flat and smooshed to your head... but not with this product!! A product that actually does what it says it will? Who knew?!

It's not sticky or heavy and it smells great. Plus, the fact that it's affordable is a huge plus for me! I also love the fact that it's heat activated.

You have to try this product!!

I love this mousse. I bought this a while back and tried it once but for some reason didnt think it really worked for me. I went back to it when i was moving around things in my bathroom cabinet and I was shocked! I LOVE this product! I dont know what I did wrong when i had tried it before but now if I go a day without noticing it, my hair looks limp and boring without the great volume i get with this product.

I put this on damp hair after showering. I squirt out two maybe egg sized or smaller pumps of product and with my hair flipped over I work this through my hair from root to tip. I do brush the product through at this stage and while blow drying with my hair flipped over. I found this helps to distribute the product and have smoothness when blowdrying is finished. I feel that this gives great movement to my hair without greasiness, oiliness or stiffness.


I will definitely repurchase this product!

This product is being greatly overrated here. I'm in my 50s, have lived with fine, stick straight hair all my life, tried hundreds of 'volumizing' mousses and this is one is nothing to rave about. Very, very average. Only thing at all worth mentioning is the cheaper price.

This stuff really works...My hair has been thinning, and I have somewhat noticeable spots where you can see my scalp ( crappy part about having dark hair). I wanted something to beef up my hair a little bit until I can make it to a doctor/dermatologist.This stuff really gave me back some self-esteem about my hair! It is so cheap, I can't believe it. If you put it on when your hair is wet, and then blow dry your hair upside down, you can even flat-iron it and it keeps the same crazy volume! Seriously lifted the roots. Lifesaver to anyone with thinning hair!

Best volumizing mousse ever. I was left with vavavoom hair for three days. Only mousse that ever worked on me and I AIR DRIED it, didn't even use a blow dryer or anything fancy. I can't praise this enough

i have to agree with the other reviewers who said this is a great product. this is MYTHICAL!!!

It is the only mousse i ever found to actually WORK and do what it says it does. this and Elnett hairspray= rule the world with your hair, ladies!

how i use it and what i think of it:
-i apply it on my wet hair, after washing it, before any other product (hair serum, hair spray, etc). it takes just a little amount of product to do the trick. i think i used too much one time and my hair got a little too 'thick' in the beginning, but this effect wore off as soon as my hair was completely dry. so even an excess of this product won't cause greasiness or flatness as in other styling products.

-i rub a nut-sized amount on my wet roots, all over the crown, then downwards, around the ears and in the front. i must say this is the only product i apply on my front hair with absolutely no concerns about aspect, oiliness or stiffness.

-i blow dry my hair with my head down so the position of the hair works with the volumizing effect.

-ta-daaa!! you got the perfect volume.

doesn't stick on your hair, doesn't make it crunchy or oily or messy, doesn't fix the hair like a hairspray or other mousses, just does what it says. it truly gives a lifting effect to your roots, and the volume lasts for many days, even a week if you don't wash it (for various reasons, dry hair, laziness, etc LOL). i never stay a week with unwashed hair but just saying, i think i tried it once, you know, recycling hairdos if i was on the run or clubbing many days in a row.

you can trust this mousse for anything, from casual nights out with your friends/boyfriend to office parties, new year's eve or anything else. doesn't exaggerate with the volume, the hold or anything else.

doesn't cause your scalp to peel (dandruff- some products are a bit aggressive and some scalps are too sensitive), doesn't build up on your hair, you basically look like you had nothing on. it just sinks in your hair. AMAZING.

i will continue purchasing this, hope they won't discontinue it, or if they do hope they're coming up with something similar or even better, if that's possible.

i am quite surprised about the Tresemme mousse because i like their shampoos and conditioners, but i am not a huge fan, while this mousse is definitely one of my HG hair products and i can't believe i lived for so long without it.

the packaging is ok, the nozzle of the bottle is large enough not to get clogged with product build-up, the cap is handy, doesn't slip or anything.

it has a faint scent, pleasant, goes away once your hair has dried but stays on as a clean, out-of-the-shower scent. might be just me but i think this mousse prevents my hair from frizzing up and stinking up- basically if i cook something or if i find myself in a strongly scented environment my hair won't absorb anything even if recently washed.

i am sooo happy i purchased this! very good price compared to other brands i have tried in the past with no results. compared to this one, ANYTHING else fades....

This is honestly THE best mousse I have ever used. I have naturally very pretty curly/wavy hair and this totally makes my hair look refined, soft, NOT CRUNCHY, flowy, and just so pretty. Even my boyfriend uses it! The best product ever. My hair looks so natural and soft. I could go on forever explaining it! Here are a few examples...hehe.

this is a great mousse! probably better than any other kind that i have probably paid way to much for. this is a great item to use either for just crown volume, or all over..works great for those of us with naturally wavy hair who air-dry. doesn't leave crunchy, but does leave a small amount of build up. -although that may be more me, using too much, or because i air-dry

This has a great light scent and leaves no residue. The mousse is rich and thick. But I prefer 24 hour body mousse more. This doesn't provide any volume whereas 24 hour body mousse does.

I bought this yesterday as i am a religious fan of the hairspray and after taking out my hair extensions my hair is left flat and very thin. the mousse absorbed quickly did not leave my hands sticky, and after reading the instructions it said to blowdry hair upside down, when my hair was all dry it looked bouncy, very volumised, very soft and natural looking and smelt gorgeous, would definately buy this again :)

I love this stuff! It really does give me a lot of volume. Also, a little goes a long way. I have had this for over a year and still have a lot. If you use too much your hair can look greasy or be crunchy. The smell on this is great! I can smell it all day. Overall, for a product so cheap, this does it's job, and well. :)

I have fine hair, but lots of it. It always gets greasy the day after washing it so everything I put in it makes that worse. This doesn't do that, it actually does what it says - it adds volume, it works well with a blow dryer and smells good. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this if you are looking for a decent priced mousse to give some volume and doesn't weigh your hair down.

This is a great product compared to all the other drugstore brands. It does give lift and volume...but would like more for my thin limp hair. I find that this product works best after you have slept on it.

I have dead-straight fine Asian hair so you can imagine that I need that extra lift in the mornings. This mousse is very light and absorbs quickly into my hair, which makes me wonder what its alcohol content is. After applying and blow-drying, my hair does tend to feel a bit dry so now I slick on a heat protector which seems to help. The mousse is effective though and leaves my hair bouncy and soft. Overall I'd say it's decent and super cheap.

i really like this product. it gives me just the perfect amount of volume. and i have asian hair. my hair is crisp though if i use it and then blowdry.. it feels kind of dry. how it works for me is i put it on the night before and by the time i wake up in the morning my hair is nice and puffy and not dry.
